Hunter Zolomon amazingly enough, i have yet to come across some inuyasha fangirls in my real life exploits surprised You been to an anime con? They're *everywhere* there! gonk I'm far more able to talk on anime than I am on comics, as I've seen and read more recently. Probably my overal favorite would be Neon Genesis Evangelion. Otherwise, I've been watching Naruto (which is decent, despite the fanbase), Full Metal Alchemist, Azumanga Daioh, Read or Die the TV, and some other stuff I can't think of at the moment. Anyone looking for suggestions on anime to watch/get started on/whatever, I can help.

Raven_Darkholme Have you seen End of Evangelion? Oh yeah. I got a fansub before the DVD came out. You would not believe how much better the translation on the DVD is. And the quality is just miles higher. Did you listen to the commentary on it?

Lucky for me the release came right when I was into the series the most, so I was seriously giddy about it. I got it home and popped it in right away. I watched it in English though because I really don't care for some of the Japanese voices in that series. At the end of it I was just staring at the screen for like five minutes, trying to digest it. It took about three viewings for me to wrap my head around it.

I had to wait a bit after seeing the series to get a fansub, but I was just as giddy as you probably were when I heard about the DVD. I happen to be kind of fond of the English voices as well, though I have nothing against the Japanese voices. At JTAF, I was sitting across the isle from Tiffany Grant during the ADV panel. It was quite an experience. Seriously, though, it's probably one of my favorite movies. And if you haven't seen the commentary on both EoE and D&R, I'd really reccomend it.

Well I just loathe whoever did the voice for Asuka on the Japanese dub. Tiffany Grant made her sound about thirty, but it worked I guess. A German accent would have been very nifty though. I think that the fight against the production models was the best fight sequence in the whole series. Very cool.

I am just glad that Eva doesn't seem to attract as many moron fanboys/girls as Inu-Yasha does, though it has its fair share. What really pisses me off about the Eva fandom is the people who think they have all the answers and insist that anyone else who thinks at all differently is a moron (*cough* TheMessiah *cough*)

I must say that they've done an extremely good job when it comes to toy releases. All the extra hands, heads, and weapons get my approval, and the prices are reasonable too. I have units 1, 2, 3, and the Production Model. Unit 2 is currently choking the PM with it's axe. whee

How do you make a scared fourteen year old boy fight his classmate? *Shudders.*

Zoom: No, having a lot of people like it isn't a reason to watch it, but if you ventured into the AMC main or the Anime series sub forum, you'd see just how annoying said fans can be. I mod a Naruto Guild on Gaia with my main account, and we have to make sure to keep order, or else it'd devolve into mindless fanboyism, like the other 2+ Naruto Guilds are.

Raven_Darkholme How do you make a scared fourteen year old boy fight his classmate? *Shudders.* By pressing the handy dandy berzerk button! Eva was actually the first non-TV anime I ever watched, just after Sailor Moon and DBZ. It's probably what hooked me most strongly into anime. Eva's characters are simply some of the most compelling and interesting I've found. The serious issues all of the kids have with their parents (And this includes Misato and Ritsuko) makes it my favorite.
