I can not say if it is a sin or not but I do know that you should do all things in moderation, Also you need to be carefull not to become addicted to it, My spouse was addicted to it when we met and even now after eight years of marriage he struggles with him self to stay with me rather than pleasureing him self, so if you wish to have a normal relationship than make sure that you self gratification is in moderation, live by the will of the spirit and not the flesh.

there is nothing in the bible that says that masturbation is a sin. but, i think anything that is constantly on ur mind....such as an obsession with masturbation...or whatever other type of thing that interrupts your daily functioning or affects your ability to function in relationships without thinking of sex is not healthy. That's all I have to say. biggrin

Duroonsia Masturbation is wrong. God does care when one person masturbates or does any other sin. I read that masturbating helps with stress. I think it adds stress. And it wastes time.
How does it 'add stress' in any way?

The Wild Eyed Dream Duroonsia Masturbation is wrong. God does care when one person masturbates or does any other sin. I read that masturbating helps with stress. I think it adds stress. And it wastes time.
How does it 'add stress' in any way?I have no idea. Personally, I've never found "up, down, up, down, up down up downupdownupdownupdownupdownstop" to be that stressful to remember. (This is Mein Kulturkampf, by the way.)

How does it 'add stress' in any way?I am addicted to masturbating. And I hate it. Every time I masturbate, I feel like trash, and I feel farther from God. I know I do it too much, but it is so hard to stop, and it is so easy to give into the temptation. I do it so much that I feel like I was seperated from God, but I now feel like I can become some kind of Christian again. I feel like a coward to the lord, and when I do it, I can't accept God's grace. Masturbation is a sin, and it does matter. So it stresses me out.

Okay ... this is getting interesting.
1) Masturbation is NOT a sin. Masturbation is a natural part of growing up and learning to know your body. God made us to be the way we are, feeling-driven creatures and all. Touching yourself and feeling pleasure is not a bad thing.
2) The reason you feel dirty is because a lot of Bible-beating extremists have brainwashed society into thinking that anything to do with sex is dirty: it's NOT. God has blessed the MARRIAGE BED, saying that it is a holy place. Anything outside of that, meaning masturbation, is not necessarily evil nor a sin.
3) I personally believe that you shouldn't mastubate too often because it creates a hunger/desire in you for something that may still be too far off in your future. God has stressed in his Word that ANYTHING in excess is a sin, and that these addictions can become strongholds that the enemy uses to keep us from truly living the life the Lord planned for us.
When we know that we are putting our focus on something other than Christ and His Will for our lives, we need to ask for His forgiveness as well as for the strength to flee from temptation. Which means, don't put yourself into situations that would lead you to masturbate.
