"Too used to flying?" She grinned at him before she picked up her pace into a gallop. She did not spend much time running but it could be enjoyable to push yourself every now and then.

"Too tempted to fly." He had always found himself tempted to spread his wings when his pace picked up, the desire to let them pick him up into the wind he raced against nearly overwhelming. It wasn't often, now that he was grown enough for his wings to carry him, that he ran without meaning to take flight. Now he would take flight in a different way; letting his spirit soar as he raced alongside his friend.

She ran on until her lungs started to ache from the strain of keeping up. Laughing she came to a stop near a stream where she could see the rise of the mountains and the sinking sun over the tree line.

He rounded up beside her, spreading his wings to catch his body as if he were coming in for a landing. He hadn't slowed himself down nearly enough before trying to stop and, as a result, skidded into the water causing a splash. He laughed, gasping for air as his lungs tried to protest, already exhausted from their run.

She snorted and laughed as Acheron hit the water like a rock. "I didn't know a bath was on your agenda. If you'd just told me i'd have given you a bit of privacy."

He snorted and, rather than responding to her taunt with words, dropped down enough that he could dip his wings into the water before splashing droplets at her. "All your fault for not giving me a warning that we would be stopping so abruptly... I might have slowed down."

"Should have noticed i was stopping" She squeaked a bit when she was splashed and shook the water droplets off her. "Or ... well not skidded into the water"

He pulled himself out of the water, wings twittering to toss droplets of water from them before settling against his sides. He leaned in to grab a lock of mane, giving it a teasing tug. "Would you have preferred I skid into you as an alternative?"

"That would have been rather awkward." She laughed and nudged his nose with hers. "We'd have been a horrible tangle of wings and legs and you could have gotten poked."

"You say that as if I do not have a horn of my own with which to do poking." He smirked as he nosed her back, lightly tapping his horn against hers only to realize just how close they were. This time instead of pulling back he shifted, brushing his cheek against hers until he could reach her ear. "... We're going to miss that sunset of yours."

"Only because you are being silly." She tugged at his ear lightly with her teeth. "We haven't missed it yet ... turn around." She nudged him back toward the mountains. She could just see the colors stretching across the blue between the peeks.

"Biting doesn't become a lady." He clucked chastisingly at her, giving her neck a gentle nudge with her nose before turning his head towards the sight that she had wanted him to see. "... So that is where the colors in your mane came from..."

"The colors in my mane come from my mother." She wasn't special enough to have been blessed by the sky itself. "Besides ... those a far prettier"

"Oh, I don't know about that." He gave her a sidelong glance before looking back to the sky in front of him, stepping close enough to her that he could brush the soft feathers of his wing against her side. "I happen to think they look very much like the colors of the sunset that you enjoy watching so often... They say that what we enjoy doing helps to shape us."

"Only i had this hair color long before i knew how to enjoy the sunset." She leaned against him for a moment before she straightened back up.
"Maybe it's just you. I don't think i'm anywhere near as pretty as the sunset."
