I think it was a combination of Hojo's lie about who Seph's mom was and Jenova controlling Seph's mind that made him do those things. FINALLY, I get to say what I think about this topic to people who KNOW WHAT THE HECK I'M TALKING ABOUT.... smile Yay!

I think it was all Jenova's fault.... And Ghast's and Lucrecia's and Hojo's. Who could experiment on humans? That's so mean! And then make their creation a weapon of mass destruction and treat him the way they did. It's terrible. They should have let him know at least. Who wouldn't go crazy after finding out that they were created from an experiment? I know I would. And then having Jenova control me? That's what I think happened to Sephiroth. Jenova took control of him. So all that was me trying to say that Sephiroth was innocent. xd

Sephiroths gal I think poor Sephy was being controlled by Jenova cause he was kinda good before......I guess......besides how he was very VERY cold ninja ....but still hot! heart cool Good points, I think Sephy was innocent too!! ^_^ heart blaugh 3nodding 4laugh

I'm not sure if he is innocent, but i don't blame him for what he did. If you had his power you would definetely burn the place you hate. So i understand him. And envy him.

I agree..he was guilty..but he was crazy, if you understand what i'm saying. He was fine at first but he went nuts. So he was innocent, he lost it, sure he was guilty for the stuff he did, but he was innocent to it all

Personally, I feel like it was choice number 3. But, doesn't the official guide from Sqaure-Enix specifically say that Sephiroth was in control of Jenova and not the other way around?

100% Hojo's fault... no wait, Lucrecia's. If she had gone with Vincent, everything would be FINE. Why in the name of Jenova she went with Hojo, I don't think we will ever know (because there is no LOGICAL explaination to be with Hojo over Vincent).
Vincent could raise a kid properly (y'know, he probably wouldn't experiment on his own child...). And Sephiroth would probably still look the same, 'cause he doesn't look like Hojo anyway sweatdrop

Lord Sephiroth is innocent of the crimes he has been accused of. 1: It was not him, but Jenova who killed the president and Aeris. 2: All he wanted to do was destroy the world... is that really so wrong?
