Okay I have since revised my opinion and I beleive that bioshock still did not deserve game of the year the orange box doesn't even come close Halo 3 was good but just not good enough after having actual taken the time to sit down and play it I beleive mass effect should have won game of the year hands down everything else seems so petty in comparison to it now that I have been exploring the vast universe of mass effect for 4 days straight now and i still love it

Bioshock does deserve game of the year. It had awesome plot, gameplay, story, music, setting, and everything else that goes into a game to make it awesome.
Mass Effect is overrated. Different answers in dialouge don't bring out dramatic change... they just get the A.I. to say something different. The game is great, but gameplay is a bit bland/medicore.
You can tell the story carries the game.

true but u can also have no dialog at all and just resolve an issue by leaving a bunch of bodies in ur wake
but while that is a valid point biosock is good but still very limited theres alot more to do and explore in mass effect and I think something that wins game of the year shoukld be something u come back to again and again bioshockl just didn't do that for me the moment I beat it the plot lost its charm I loved it the first time through and it was the awsomeest plot and a great revelation but once I know what happens its kind of hard for me to appreciate it enough to play it again while the same can be said of mass effect I can still go back and explore new regions and make diffrent choices even if they don't have a major effect on the out come however in bioshock u only get to make one change in desicion and thats how u deal with the little sisters so one additional play through didn't cut it for me
