"That is the point i was trying to get at silly." She tossed her mane. "So long as they think you're a nasty too then i'll be safe"

He stretched his wing out, tucking a strand of the mare's long mane back behind her ear and away from her face before quickly pulling his wing back, stepping off to the side as if he'd crossed some sort of boundary; be it one she had or one he had set up of his own. "I suppose I should then ask, Kalosyni, whether or not you think I am 'a nasty'..."

"Well ... you do look a bit like a nasty but you haven't tried to eat me yet so i'll take my chances." She smiled at him as she walked though the trees. At least if he was a nasty she'd get nice conversation before he gobbled her up.

"Looks can be deceiving... Especially if you go about basing your opinions on them." He nodded slowly before looking ahead of them, keeping an eye on the trail as he lead her through woods that would become more sparse the closer they got to the plains that lead to the cliffs that lead to the sea.

"Well you have to base first opinions on something" She tossed her head as they walked along.
The trip was nice and uneventful. She'd never noticed before how the air started to taste like salt the closer to the cliffs you got. "There is a way down that doesn't involve wings?"

"There has to be... My mother doesn't have wings and yet she found her way down there somewhere." He chuckled softly as he eyed the cliffs for a moment, flexing his wings. "I can get a better idea of where the path may be from above... May I leave you for a moment?"

She peered down over the cliffs and looked back over to him. "Oh .. yes." She smiled as she stepped back so he could get room. She wouldn't want to knock him off balance when he was trying to get airborne.

He stretched his wings out, flexing them for a moment before taking a step back. He pawed at the ground with his front hooves before galloping towards the edge of the cliff. He leaped into the air, letting himself fall for a moment before a current of sea breeze lifted him, carrying him up into the sky.
He circled slowly for a moment before glancing down, looking for the best way to get Kalosyni down to the shore. When he found a path that looked more safe than unsafe he began a slow descent that ended in a cautious landing not far from her.

"You know ... that's rather fascinating to watch." She'd never seen another fly as neither of her parents had wings. They had just both been gifted with the powers of healing which was nice but it wasn't all that impressive.

He rustled his feathers with wings outstretched before folding them back down against his sides. "No more so than it is to see the birds soar in the sky above..." He smiled softly as he moved closer to her, the claw-like appendages attached to his wings curling back down as well. "The path is this way... It didn't look all that steep but, if it is, your cloven hooves should help get a better grasp on the rocks.

"They are rather handy for rock climbing." She'd noticed it was easier to get a grip on slippery rocks in the river than she would have thought it would be.
"It is more so than that. At least the birds are small and it isn't hard to imagine them flying. Something our size? It's a little more interesting."

"I suppose you just have to believe in magic of some sort." He chuckled softly, the sound of his own laughter an unfamiliar thing to his ears no matter how good it felt.
"This way..." He lead her towards the path he'd found, taking the lead down onto it so that he could test the stability of the ground they tread on before she walked on it. If something gave way he could catch himself with his wings and tell her to head back up.

The rock was a bit crumbly but nothing to be worried about. The path seemed to have been walked many times since it was smoother than something naturally carved into the rocks.
Once they were down at the sand she checked her footing and laughed as she sunk a bit in the soft ground.

"You should have a bit of an easier time walking on it than I do... That seems to be the case as far as mares go; lighter and all. If you don't mind I'll probably head down closer to the sea... The sand is a bit more stable with water holding it together."

"I don't mind." She tested her footing and once she'd figured out at least partially how to walk on it she headed down the beach. It sounded so much different down here. It was like a whole different world.
She'd seen a familiar form circling in the sky and she'd trotted up out of the waves where she'd been playing to catch her brother. He hadn't come home in a long time and she had missed him. It would have been nice if it was both her brothers but one was good. "Acheron!"
