The Death Blues Mix Nter Death Blues Mix: We don't have any proof of your claims which, regardless of credibility seems to be in opposition to Nintendo. And I know I'm no businessman and all but don't production facilities take a long time to create? Nintendo would be wasting time going elsewhere instead of trying to improve their current facilities. Made in China, Made in Japan, Made in Taiwan, Made in Korea, etc. You don't have to own your own production factories. A majority of companies outsource. Aside from the newest top line of Samsung HDTVs and Sony's XBR4 and 5 series which are both handled by Japanese facilities, both companies outsource development of their electronics. Toshiba is going to be making the Cell processor for the PS3s now for example.
Nintendo to lose USD $1 Billion in possible sales.
1.8 Million Wiis produced monthly for worldwide distribution.
What I'm trying to say is that with their worth the company shouldn't have as many problems as they supposedly do in regards to supply.
Nintendo could easily overtake a majority of the industries profits in a single month if they just take a hit to bump that number to 2 million produced for worldwide distribution. Take a look at the inners and the parts aren't that expensive to produce. With how they produce DSs, a year later, Wii production shouldn't be at this low. If they could produce more they'd easily be at 15 million sold or higher.
Then more people would buy third party games instead of No More Heroes and Zack and Wiki bombing which is sad. Horribly sad.I believe I covered this on the last first page. Damn you forum system. scream

X-Legends-Never-Die-X I remember reading somewhere that Nintendo's strategy was nto to oversupply, this way demand stays at the level it's at. There is a huge difference between Oversupply and Undersupply.

NBC news just now aired a lil thing about this very topic! (not the literal topic in gaia but the subject sillies!)
They showed a clip of like....30 people at least lined up outside this store in a city (forget where). Anchor person said they were in line hoping for a wii. he said, and I quote "For the second year in a row the Wii is the must have gift for Christmas" My mental thought: "Dude I don't care what store that is, they're only gonna have 10 wiis at the most so two thirds of you idiots (they were outside in the cold holding umbrellas) are going home empty handed." I thought "idiots" because if they did any research they would know of the CONSTANT shortage.

Also, don't forget some stores do raffles and everyone in line gets a chance in those. Depends on the store they were waiting out of. I know Walmart does the raffle.

As bad as this is for them, thse of us that have Wiis enjoy laughing at those that can't find any. lol Idiots indeed. They shouldn't have waited till winter to try to find Wiis. @ Sakyh: As funny as that image is, think about it. What would you do if you were making Wiis?

The day I got mine a dad and his son got there late as my Dad was leaving with mine. If I was there I would have considered selling it to them. My Dad said he was about 11. Especially because of how sad the kid looked and sounded when the Dad was telling him we'll try again.

That way, it's two presents they get, and your loved for like, evar, and they owe you know.

Hence why you shop for a wii (for a christmas present) staring from January. Cause Nintendo isn't gonna start making more anytime soon. It's sad a kid wants a wii and can't get one but they need to play it smart. Buddie of my boyfriend had to hit up ten stores in a row before he finally got one a few months back.

My mom actually got a Wii a few weeks ago without even trying. She just walked into a store and saw the last one and thought "Oh, I should pick that up while I'm here." Once she had the box in her hands, a crowd formed around her. People were on cell phones saying "No, the woman with the last one is paying for it right now..." mrgreen Crazy popular system.

Well, I searched for a few weeks during the Spring. I got lucky, right after my Target got a shipment. I told my friend, they sold out before he got there. Yep, we all have astory when it comes to Wiis, and yet I can't remember what I was doing on 9/11. confused

Not all places do a raffle. Some after a certain time give out tickets to everyone in line depending on how many Wiis there are and they tell those people with tickets they have till a certain time to pick up their Wiis from the store. They did that at Toys R Us they day I got mine.
