aqua_dragon_king RomancerX aqua_dragon_king KEi is good too! He keeps the story real. TOO real but I like it. WHAT?!?!?!?! No he isn't, he needs to be killed off, he acts too much like someone I know. (not you) Don't worry. I know who your talking about. They don't act THAT much alike. They're both pervos and lose a lot of brain cells but they aren't that much alike aside from that. Kei is way better than that person. Give Kei a chance. I'm sure he'll become better in the end. I hope the end is him dying, so we can see more of Kato.

I like his character a lot.

Kei's just comes out looking way worse than he is because he has Kato beside him. Which doesn't mean he really is a good guy, but ya, he just looks worse because you always have Kato next to him to compare.

One only seems better or worse because of the other. There is a literature term for it but I can't remember what it was.

I don't know. I think his character is pretty true to todays society. I mean in the first episode for example. When he's in the train station and thinking all those thoughts. I mean, if I was in his position I probably would have similar thoughts. That doesn't mean I'm a bad person, it's just the way I learned to see people. Appearances mean a lot, ppl may say they don't count and all, but thats the first thing you notice about them. You learn in school how to associate certain things with certain ppl.

Appearances mean a lot, ppl may say they don't count and all, but thats the first thing you notice about them. You learn in school how to associate certain things with certain ppl. All too true Luci. It is one of the first things that I noticed as well. The part that made it especially apparent was when Kato and Kei actually died and their heads were flying through the air. I remember him asking why everybody was just taking pictures. And it couldn't have been said so easily by that other kid (the one who had been there for a while. I forgot his name). He said that people just want to see death. In todays society, it is all too true in one form or another. For example, if you look at the highest selling movies in the theaters or best selling games or even books, you will notice they either have sex or violence within them and in some cases both. I'm sure that if most of us think back to our younger days, our favorite shows contained some traces of sex and violence, whether it be in the form of monsters being destroyed in Power Rangers or Barbie loving Ken (they had a baby yah know. They just don't imply it straight forward).
To make an essay a post, Gantz shows modern society very accurately. The only thing I have to say is that you'll either hate it because it is TOO RAW (even I was taken aback by it the first time), they don't like anime, and/or they look at it from the skin and not the meat (in relation to what Luci said before).

~ADK~You are both good. This anime is an aquired taste. Will you like it for the violence, the nudity, the characters, or the plot? I think Benitora said it best "It not about the Giant Robots, Babes, and Explosions (ADK, you get the idea, I forgot his exact words), it's all about the storyline." I think Gantz has a great story, and shows a real world. Saikano showed war life, Gantz shows "peaceful" life. I may not like Kei, but I like Gantz. I want to see this series through. And that the real deal with Magoichi the Resourcer.

For the last time! COMPASSION IS NOT AN AFFLICTION, IT IS MY STRENGTH! Just because a person cries a lot, guy or girl, does not mean that they themselves are not strong. Besides, I'm a sensitive guy. I cry when all the time in movies (nearly cried in Government while watching With Honors. Good movie).
