"Lately Nashi has been able to control leaves and such. But only from berry bushes at the moment. I asked her when she obtained this power, and she said that she has no idea. Its odd, really. Most changelings can tell when they recieve such powers. But Nashi..." She broke off.
"I need you to work with her on theses powers. You know, help her to understand them a bit."
I nodded. "Yeah. I can do that. When do I start?"
She flew into the air. "Sometime this week would be fine." And then she flew straight back out of the window.

After Aaliya left, I thought a bit. I had not really thought much of it when Nashi made that sheet of leaves. I guess I... well I dont know. It just didnt cross my mind that it might develop into something larger.
I suddenly got the urge to hug Nashi, so I walked out to her stall. She was buried in her berry book.
"Hi, Nashi! How do you like the wall color?" She smiled. "Well thats good. Can I have a hug?" She nodded and stood up. I wrapped my arms around her as she layed her head upon my shoulder. Even though it was just a hug, I felt in that moment that we were finally one. I loved her more than anything in the world, and felt that I always would. Nahsi stepped back and I let go after about a minute of hugs.
She swung her head toward her shelves, motioning for me to look that way. I did, and found that she had caught a small, hot pink faerie.
"Wow, Nashi! Whats that?" She frowned. I knew she couldnt tell me. "Oh, its alright. But she's quite pretty." Her face lit up. The faerie looked very sad, however. "Nashi? I think we should let her go. I mean, not like completely go, but at least in you're stall." She nodded and pushed the jar off of the shelf, shattering the glass.
"Nashi! Oh, Nashi. Look what you've done!" The faerie flew up with torn wings, and I quickly captured her between my palms. "Get that basket we had on the trip, please. And you can take the top off."
Nashi nodded and raced out of the stall, quickly returning with the basket. I took a sheet from her drawers and folded it inside, then placed the faerie gingerly on top.
"There. Now I need you to keep an eye on her, and find out what she eats. Hopefully she likes berries..." I kissed Nashi on the head and went to call the vet. The Fae

I just called the vet about the little faerie. Hopefully he will know what to do about her. He said that he had never worked on such beings, but would see what he could do and would be here in about an hour. Every time I go to check on Nashi she is standing over the basket; observing the little winged fae.
The faerie is in a terrible state from the broken glass (which took me 15 minutes to clean up the peices were so small). Nashi feels horrible for what she did, and hasnt stopped tearing since the event. The fae''s wings are torn and mangled, and her little body is bruised and cut. She is only about the size of my index finger plus around half the size of my hand. I dont know what to do. She could die any moment. I want to find out where Nashi found her so terribly. Maybe after the vet is gone I can have her show me.

The vet just left. He said that there was nothing to do but give her tlc and to keep her wounds clean. Since she''s a faerie, theres really no medicine that would affect her. Poor thing. I really hope she gets better.
I suppose Im going to have to get Nashi to show me where the faerie was. Ill go ask her now.

Sunday, November 1
Nashi agreed to show me. Maybe there will be other faeries there. That would be so wonderful! I packed a backpack, which included a few jewels I found on a journey long ago. I heard that faeries like shiny things wink . Nashi is bringing the pink faerie, so that the others can tell us what to do with her. Well, we''''re off!

"Nashi!" I called her. "Time to go!" She came galloping up the hill to me. "Do you have the faerie?" She nodded. "Well, where is she?" I didnt see the faerie anywhere.
Nashi nodded to a small cloth of purple velvet hanging from her neck. I peered inside to find the small, feeble fae resting her delicate frame upon it. "Oh Nashi. Good idea!" She smiled, proud.
"Shall we go?" She nodded once again. "Alright! Lets get moving then! The faerie doesnt have much time." I started walking; Nashi following.

Nashi seemed to know exactly where she was going. She eventually picked up her pace and trotted ahead of me, and once again I was stuck struggling to keep up. "How did I get myself into this again?" I mumbled to myself. We were suddenly walking through a forest, and I lost sight of Nashi. "Oh god," I said. "Nashi! Nashi where are you?!?!?" I found myself screaming. She came galloping back to me from up ahead, and I sighed. "Nashi, you really shouldnt go so fast. What if we got seperated?" She looked very guilty. "Oh, sweetie. It''s ok. Just dont do it again, alright?" She smiled and nuzzled me.

So we walked. And walked and walked and walked. The once bright, sunlit forest had turned into a creepy, sinister-like jungle. I found myself shivering on account of the icy coldness that surrounded us.
"Nashi?" How much farther do we have to go?" I ran up ahead to walk beside her. She stopped and looked ahead, her eyes yearning for something. "Nashi?" She whipped her head around; telling me to be quiet, then slowly peered into the trees ahead once more. A small, dancing purple light was slowly moving about the trees. I took in a sharp breath. More faeries? I just couldnt believe it.
Nashi took a step forward, and the light went out.
"Nashi, lets go find them. Maybe once they see we have... the pink one, they wont be so apprehensive to meet us." She nodded, and started walking again.

As we walked through the trees ahead of us, I held my breath. You see, I was expecting to find a marvelous and wonderful faerie city; filled with magic and faes off all shapes and sizes. But to my dissappointment, this was not the case. The enviorment was just the same as we had been walking in for the whole journey. Just a dark, jungle-like forest.
"Nashi, are you SURE this is where you found her?" I asked. She nodded, and gently took the faerie from the pouch in her mouth. "Nashi! Dont do that!" I quickly grabbed the poor thing from her jaws, cradling it in my timid hands. Nashi started shaking her head violently. "Wha... What are you doing Nashi?" I just watched in confusion. She stopped, and gave me a 'well?' look. Finally, after I had stared at her for at least a few minutes, she rolled her eyes and took the faerie from my hand; shaking it. "Nash..." But as soon as I started my words, they stopped. Some faerie dust had fallen from the fae, and a grassy patch had appeared where it had landed. It was now spreading, and a city was materializing before my eyes...

I gasped, gawking at the sight unraveling before me. A little castle was showing its beautiful self, and small cucoons were suddenly hanging on the trees. When the transformation was over, the once dark forest had turned to a magnificent faerie city.
"Nashi? Am I seeing things?" She slowly shook her head. Small little faes poked their heads sleepily out of the cucoons, and seeing us, drew quickly back inside. "Real faeries! Hundreds!" I said, unbelieving. They were all different colors, some pink, some blue, and some lilac. Some had butterfly wings, and some normal faerie shaped. "Hello!" I said loudly. "We have and injured fae here who needs your help!" I gingerly took the faerie from the the pouch and held her high in the air. A few of the faes poked their heads out of the cucoons again, now interested. "Please! Help her!"
"Be quiet!" said a song-like voice behind us. I turned around sharply. A crowned fae hovered before me. "You will frighten them!" My jaw dropped.
"Are you... are you the queen?" I asked.
"Yes. And I need to know how this... she peered into my hands. "this faerie came to be injured."
"Well..." I felt guilty. "Let me tell you about it."

Nashi looked up at me guiltily. I reasurred her with a smile, then turned back to the faerie.
"It was an accident. My little girl here decided to capture one of your kind in a glass jar and... well... she kind of... spilled the jar..." I stopped for a moment. "You see, the glass shattered and... as you can see..."
The faerie nodded, staring at me.
"Yes, I do see. We can cure her, but it wont be easy. I need you to find me two different flowers. One is yellow with pink spikes, and one is... well I suppose you could say it is many different colors of blue, purple, and green. It is circular. Can you do that? I believe they grow in this forest. I would have my workers gather them, but they have not such muscle power to uproot them. I need the whole flower, stem and all. Alright?"
I looked at Nashi. It was her descision. She nodded uneasily.
"Ok. We''ll do it. Can you give us any... like magical power things? Or something to help us?" She sighed. "If you must have it."
With a flick of her wrist three little fae''s came zooming from the trees to her side. She whispered something to them, and they smiled. All of a sudden, we were sprouting wings. "What the...?!?" I couldnt believe what was happening.
"Will that help?" The queen said lazily. I struggled to choke out words.
"I... uh... well... yeah I guess..." Nashi was too happy to be shocked at the sudden transformation. She was turning in circles, straining to get even the tiniest glimpse of her large butterfly-like wings. I, on the other hand, had deep purple faerie wings.
"The magic will wear off in a week, which is how long the fae has to live. If you fail, she will die. So do be quick." At that, she turned and flew quickly out of sight.

I stared at the place she had gone, mouth wide open. How could she just leave us here like this? Giving us no hint as to where to start?
"Nashi? I know you like your wings and all... but... I think we'd better start..." my words slipped right past her. She was still trying to see her large wings. "Nashi!" I yelled. She then turned around.
"We really need to get going. Ok?" She frowned and nodded. "We can leave your fae with her own kind. They can take better care of her." I looked around at the many cucoons. Apparently, one of the faeries had heard me speak, for she flew down and wrapped her arms around the pink fae's waist, and took her high into the foliage. "Right. So lets go!" I tried to flap my wings, but had no luck. "Do you know how to work these things?" I asked. She shrugged, and then clamped her eyes shut, trying to move her own. Suddenly they started flapping up and down, and in an instant she was in the air. "Nashi! Youre a natural!" She smiled proudly. "Now teach me!"
After I had grown accustomed to using my wings, we set out to find the flowers. Every flower I saw that had any hint of being yellow, pink, or blue-ish, I would dive down to examine it. But after 3 hours, we had only seen 5 flowers, none of which being the ones we needed. I finially gave in to my exaustion and flew to the ground, landing on my face. I sucked at landing.
"My back aches terribly! How do those fae's do this all day?" I asked Nashi. She landed gracefully next to me. "Show off," I mumbled. How was she so good at flying when I barely managed to stay air-bourne? I figured it must be a gene or something. "Want to rest?" I asked.
She frowned and shook her head. "Fine. Just dont ask to stop when you DO get tired. Im not stopping." I pushed off with my legs, and tumbled about in the air until I finially stablized myself. This was going to be a long week.

I was ready to fall out of the sky and sleep a million years after an hour or so more of searching. My back was burning with soreness and my eyelids were heavier than rocks.
"Nashi, we have GOT to stop now." She seemed to have started feeling drousy too. But not nearly as drousy as I was. She slowly glided to the earth, trying to blink away sleep. I crashed to the ground ( domokun ) and strethched my muscles. "There has to be an easier way to do this," I said to myself. Nashi was already asleep, however. I smiled. She was so lovely when she was sleeping. I put my arm around her soft frame and drifted off into dreams of faeries and flowers...

Monday, November 2.
I woke in the morning, finding myself feet away from where I had fallen asleep. Nashi was next to a bush (a berry one, of course. She had apparently sleep... rolled to the bush) and was giggling in her sleep. I laughed under my breath. What a cutie.
I washed my face with some water I got from the cooler, and changed my clothes. It was a bit tricky with my new wings, but I managed. Nashi came trotting up to me a few minutes after I finished dressing, looking perky and awake. "How do you do that?" I asked her. She cocked her head, confused. "Nevermind." I ruffled her forelock. "How's your back feeling?" I inquired. She simply stared at me. "Alright," I answered. "We can walk, then. Are you ready to go?" She smiled. "Good! So am I! Just let me gather our things up." I hustled about, assembling our different items into a pile, then poured them into the backpack. "Lets move!" I shouted over my shoulder. We were off again.

Walking was much easier than flying was, although it wasnt as quick. We moved at half the pace we had gone the day before. After an two and a half hours of seeing nothing resembling a flower, I turned to Nashi.
"Do you think we might be going the wrong way or something? I mean, we havent seen either of these flowers yet, and I'm getting quite bored." She rolled her eyes. I knew I was being annoying. "Whatever. I just wish this would go a bit quicker." She smiled, shaking her head. "Hey, you. Arent you getting bored too?" She shook her head once again. "Fine." Thats all I could think of as a comeback. We walked in silence for 30 minutes, until finially neither of us could take it. At the same moment, we both went for each other. I wrapped my arms around her, and she nuzzled me lovingly. "Love ya, Nashi!" When I pulled back and turned to start walking again, I found that sitting in front of me was a beautiful blue flower. In fact, it was a blue, green, purple, circular flower. "Oh my gosh. Its one of the flowers the queen told us about!" Nashi smiled happily and pranced around in joy. Half of our mission was complete.
