Eartufts twitching, Frostbane heard the sound of feathers slicing through the air. Seconds later the female sentinel dropped down before him. Promptly straightening, he faced the slight ghost sentinel. Although Frostbane missed the first part of her words, he definitely caught the end. “…..Do one of you know a medic?"

“I’m a medic, Who’s hurt, where are they located, take me there as fast as you can.” Without pausing to catch a breath he snapped out the questions briskly, as though he was questioning another healer. He threw a cursory glance at Tousled. “Follow me and make sure you stay close if you still want to question me later. Got it?” Frostbane was all business now, so serious he looked almost angry.

Tousled blinked rapidly in surprise when the grey sentinel landed right in front of her, cutting off her view of Frostbane, but when she heard the name of the injured everything else became a secondary concern. "Moult!" She whispered, her feathers sleeking back as much as they could in their current state. "Oh no... oh no!"

She opened her beak but had barely had a chance to formulate the thought of what she should say, what she should ask, when Frostbane cut across her. He's a... medic? She would have been more surprised if there had been room for it in her heart, but she was too worried and anxious for poor old Moult, and therefore merely nodded absent-mindedly as the medic glanced back at her and said something about following him. She had all but forgotten her humiliation and anger from only a moment before. This was no longer the time or the place for wounded pride.

I have to help! There has to be something I could do!

She turned to the ghost sentinel as the three of them launched themselves off the branch. "He's not... dead, is he?" she asked in a small voice shaky with emotion.

((Just a note that you folks can go on without Moult, until someone tries to wake him up!))

Eva's eyes watched Ila leave until she was completely out of sight. Still, for a few seconds, she kept her eye on the spot where the other female had disappeared, as if she was expecting her to magically re-appear with the medic she had been sent to gather. But of course, she also realized quickly that that magical event would not happen, so she turned her attention back to the hurt Moult.

"Moult.... uhm.... Moooouuuult." She whispered, nudging him ever-so-slightly with her wing. She didn't like that fact that he was so still, obviously for a reason, but still. If he was at least awake right now to tell her what hurt, it would make Eva feel just a little bit better.

"Moouuuult." She said again, not poking him this time. She fluffed out her feathers and looked around. She was so low, a place most Sentinel didn't ever go, for good reasons. And even her, the brave hunter, was beginning to feel a little uneasy. Like little eyes were watching her from everywhere.

There's no initial response from the downed Sentinel; Moult is limp and cold, and his breath has a raspy quality that can't be healthy for anyone. Poor Eva; the old bird had warned her to take shelter, only to turn around blunder directly into the storm himself.

Well, nobody ever said Moult was a particularly smart bird. But if Eva's paying attention, and she listens very closely, she'll be rewarded with a sound that's as positive as it is painful.

"Nn-n-nhhhh...."

Eva hadn't been listening well enough to hear that very small noise. She had, in fact, turned her head and was once again looking around for any signs of help coming along. The forest seemed quiet around them, strangely enough. The birds weren't chirping, and the other animals seemed to be gone into their burrows. Did they know something that the Sentinel didn't? Or did they just sense to stay away from them, so they wouldn't be eaten as a treat.

She turned again, sighing a little, and continued to watch Moult. "Wake up soon~" she mumbled softly.

"No, I think that he's hanging on. Just barely."

Ila carved quickly back to the direction of where Moult and Eva were. She was glad that the Mist was a medic, this made it less complicating than she originally thought. She was also relieved that the two had stopped squabbling so fast, and were so eager to assist. Hopefully, no ground creatures had arrived, or there would be even more trouble. It was just a short way from the riverbank, so they arrived at the scene without many obstacles.

Carefully lighting down on the forest floor (the Ghost Sentinel had never really taken a liking to staying there!), she directed Frostbane to the injured.

As they came closer to the ground, Tousled habitually scanned the ground for dangers, but as soon as the lump of grey, dishevelled and bloody feathers that was Moult came into view, the anxiousness twisted her chest and made it very hard to concentrate on anything else. Moult was a silly old sentinel, who flew slowly and awkwardly and always told his tall tales that may or may not be true, and she didn't really know him all that well, but...

...But they were both a little bit like outsiders in the clan, and she had always felt like they had had some sort of understanding. Like she could have talked to him if she had ever needed to. And she wasn't really realising this until now. The thought of him just being... gone... was difficult to process. She wasn't entirely sure just what she was feeling, but she knew she didn't want it to happen.

She didn't bother to slow down before her landing and used her momentum to jump right over to where she believed Moult's head was.

"Moult? Moult?" She carefully preened his ear tuft, making sure not to loosen any more of his frail feathers, imploring him quietly: "Come on, Moult, talk to me! Wake up. Come on!"

Frostbane’s world narrows down to one immediate concern; Moult. Ignoring the uneasiness of being on the forest floor he plummets down to Moults side and pushes his way to the front of the trio. He urgently begins assessing the situation and in quick succession he spits out the facts.

“Fractured leg, that will need to be set and splintered. Flight feathers are missing, No flying soon. Those talons will need to be cut, bandages will be needed and that puncture wound………..” His words decrease in volume and soon stop all together. Hopping close, Frostbane begins a quick triage; already he can classify Moult under immediate care and in need of a roost. Frostbane can hear the steady but rasping breathe coming from Moult. “…. Luckily that hit neither a lung or his heart or we’d have major problems. ” Clicking his tongue, still bent over the patient, Frostbane addresses the other three sentinels. “ I’ll need someone to scout out a roost nearby, we’ll definitely not be able to move moult far, try to keep it low, I don’t want to have to lift him to the top branch of a tree. I’ll need another to find me a branch about 3 inches wide. It needs to be peeled clean. And we definitely need bandages.” Beak clicking, Frostbane turns to Eva. “ There’s a way station…. it’s farther than Moult can manage but it shouldn’t take that long for you to fly too…. Inside there should be a medical bag that holds drugs, bandages and so forth. I need you too bring that to me as soon as possible. Understand?”

(O.O No websites on taking care of owl injuries.... But I have learned abit about emergence operations. Did you all know that when the ambulance arrives on a scene they assess each person into 1 of 4 classes. I didn't ^^
and please bear with me if I get anything wrong guys.
p.s. Jaeger can you give owls cannabis/drugs?)

((I think that got answered in the thread, but within reason, yep-- herbal remedies are perfect. Also, just to remind folks, they can't 'lift' Moult physically-- they'd never be able to fly with him. But they can band together and use their Will in a coordinated fashion to lift him!))

First noise, then light, then pain. That is the order in which sensation returns to the grounded Sentinel. All three are fuzzy and indistinct at first, but then mumbled noises begin to become more distinct. Someone calling his name. A female? Two females? A male's voice, in control... but it's all a jumble. Something strange is happening, but it's too much of an effort to discover more.

That is, until the pain that had been fuzzy suddenly becomes excruciating as consciousness returns. Moult's body heaves with a pained gasp that transitions to a low, gravelly moan.

"...wh--what--?"

Instructions were given to the young female, and she remembered them best she could. After Frostbane was done talking, she took a second to process the information, and store it to her mind as best she could. "Right... way station, bandages, medical supplies... got it!" She looked over at Moult for a second. "I'll be right back." She declared to anybody listening.

She flapped her large wings, slowly decending off the forest floor. Then when she was high enough, she sped up, and headed the way she was instructed.

"I-I-I'll get the branch!" Tousled stammered breathlessly, then hiccuped in surprise when Moult suddenly pulled in a raspy breath and moaned.

"Moult!" She leaned in closer to his head again, giving him a quick, concerned preen. "Hang in there, Moult," she whispered. "There's a medic here, and we'll get you patched up and out of here right soon. I'll be right back, okay?"

Without waiting for some kind of response, Tousled threw herself off the ground, fully intent on her search for a suitable branch. Luckily, after the storm a lot of twigs and branches had fallen from the great trees, and it didn't take her too long to find a suitable one. She sat herself on it and committed her will to break it off at just the right place. It was a very tough piece of wood and Tousled was used to performing much finer tasks, but it finally broke with a loud crack just as she was about to give up and go find another one. The rest was easy. The branch levitated up before her face, and in the next moment its bark fell off in small showers to the sound of brief snaps. Peeling bark off was something Tousled did a LOT.

She took the prepared wood in her beak and flew back to Moult and the medic, as fast as her wings could carry her.

Being of the Scout profession, Emerila took up to look for a roost. As the others dispersed, she scanned the nearby area. There were quite a few hollows here, and of course, habitable ones, as she had just hidden in this part of the woods. The challenge was to find one that was not too high and still habitable. Usually, she and many other Sentinels preferred the higher homes, being near ground was too awkward, being creatures of the sky. All she could do now was to find a decent area to place Moult, that she and the other young Sentinels actually had the ability to move him to.

Looking through the leafy branches and scanning as many trunks as she could in midflight, Ila quickly ruled many out. Finally, she saw a rather small hollow where it didn't look to old or insect-ridden. It even had a few branches near it so there was no need for everyone to be cramped. Memorizing the position, she looped back down to Moult and Frostbane.

Leaning close, Frostbane puts a restraining talon on Moults shoulder. “Listen to me Moult…” Frostbane’s tone is soothing but forceful.”... I need you to stay still; you have wounds and are currently on the forest floor. I’m a medic and I need you to relax so you don’t cause further injury to yourself.” Turning slightly, he peered at Tousled’s branch. “Good work….hrm… Splint now or wait for the Willowbark? Willlowbark won’t be long in coming, hopefully. As long as Moult stays still….” Droning off again Frostbane is lost in thought. “But are there drugs at that way station?….No. I think the medic waypoint is the closest location.” Glancing at the other two sentinels he utters a last couple of sentences before lifting off from the forest floor, in the opposite direction that Eva went.

“I will be back as soon as possible. Make sure Moult is comfortable and still. Watch out for any beast on the forest floor. It a fair distance but I'll try to hurry."

((Ok guys here’s the deal. I’ll probably be gone for a couple of months due to RL issues. Hopefully back by March but I can’t guarantee anything. I’ve removed Frostbane from the rp for now, after considering Slander’s advice and will re-enter him when I get back. I don’t want to hold up the rp. sweatdrop (I feel bad about not being able to get on for so long already.) Anyway SO sorry for the inconvenience and I’ll see you guys as soon as possibly. Bye, ciao.))
