Glancing up at the man, Adalia made a gesture towards herself before raising an eyebrow, "Compared to me, you are big. I hadn't thought to make a guess at your age." Shrugging before tilting her head in her curious manner, she gave a little laugh, "And just how old do you think I am, then?"
While she was having fun bantering back and forth with KX, it made her miss the rare times with Fiach, where he acted like an older brother. Shaking her head a little to clear it of those random thoughts, she couldn't help but laugh again. "True, and with your size - getting them to leave you be will be easy!"
Staring in surprise as Trisste sank to the floor, Li'tae was, for once, utterly speechless. Barely even able to raise an eyebrow for it all, he casually knelt down to Trisste, thinking to make a witty remark about the collapsing. Only to cut himself off at the pass, as he noticed the tears falling from Trisste's eyes.
An amused chuckle escaping his open mouth as Trisste questioned whether or not his face was leaking, Li'tae waved a hand through the air, dismissing the idea. "I believe those are called tears, Trisste. Not "leaks"." Grinning as gently wiped the tears away from both of his friend's cheeks, he frowned in thought, "But why are you crying?"

"You're twenty, and I'm not big. You're just small and I'm average."
KX was rather enjoying the banter that was being exchanged between him and Adalia, but as he managed to catch her shaking her head out of the corner of his eye he had to stop mentally.
Did he go too far with that last bit of comments that was exchanged between them? She'd been doing fine and going along with it blow for blow, so why the sudden shake of her head? It could be some thoughts, and he almost felt like asking her if he'd said something wrong. Almost.
Oh well. Better to not dwell on it, and it's not like I really care.
As she hadn't pulled her hand from his own, KX figured that she was doing fine. If it had bothered her she probably would have yanked away and gone then and there, but she was still there. Enough said.
"Well, we're almost there. Get ready to eat the crappiest pizza in the area and play in the largest ball pit in the tri-county region."
KX turned a corner on the street they'd been strolling along, and after a few more steps he took great pains to stop in front of a rather gaudy building. There were massive amounts of neon lights spelling out the restaurant name - PAR CHEESIEST -, and campy children's music was blaring over a loudspeaker hooked to the nearby light post.
"Ta-da! Par Cheesiest, the worst place in the world for food but the ultimate in the world for ball pits and fist fights."
He pointed towards the door with his hand at the multitudes of children that swarmed inside, their bodies visible thanks to the thin plexiglass that acted like a remote sound barrier. There were dozens of run-down looking parents and even more weary workers scurrying here and there, and the grin on KX's face only seemed to get larger.
"Last time I was here, I lost my eye in the ball pit. I'm not leaving until I find it. You got that?"
- ----
"I...I'm crying? How...how can that be? I'm not human enough to cry, so...."
Even though he said that, and Li'tae had wiped away the first few that had trailed down, tears still continued to flow down Trisste's cheeks like small rivers. They coiled at his chin and dropped down onto his balled fists that rested against his lap, his eyes burning with humiliation.
"I...I don't like this very much. As a normal Hacker, in our computer...I couldn't cry like this. No matter how bad I felt, I wouldn't cry like this in front of you. I wouldn't have to look so dumb...."
It really was mortifying, and he felt himself sob a little as his shoulders shook. Maybe this was how Sionce always felt when he cried himself to sleep or after he'd get done talking to Fiach sometimes, and Trisste felt the urge to go see Sionce was slowly creeping upon him.
"I...Don't look at my, Li'tae. I..."

Biting his lower lip as Trisste continued to cry, Li'tae started to feel himself panic. It wasn't an emotion he'd ever fully experienced, having felt it only dully when Chesire had been infecting him. He couldn't tell if Trisste was ashamed, frightened, or just so overwhelmed with everything, and it bothered him he didn't know what to do to make his friend feel better. Rummaging through his memory, he recalled that humans usually hugged one another to make them feel better - but also knew that that didn't always work, as per Fiach's journal entries.
Shaking his head as Trisste said that he looked dumb, Li'tae made up his mind to his course of action and pulled the other hacker into a tight, protective embrace. A smile tugging at his lips as he whispered into Trisste's ears, "There. Now I'm not looking at you while you cry."

Trisste felt a small wave of relief cross over him as Li'tae pulled him close and let him bury his face into his chest, and he thought about actually crying for a few more moments before he felt it would be a waste to do so.
There would be plenty of time to cry later, and plenty of it. Or at least, he was surmising.
"Thank...thank you."
He moved his arms and placed them about Li'tae's frame, enjoying the comforting warmth that was radiating from the other onto him. It was almost too much though, but he didn't even feel his arms twitch and try to pull himself away. It was almost as if...he felt like he belong in those arms and needed to be in them forever.
"This...."
His words, or rather, the rest of that sentence, were muffled into Li'tae shoulder as he spoke, his mouth moving against flesh and bumming everything he'd said.

Shrugging as he held onto Trisste, Li'tae felt a smirk tug at his lips. He was loathe to admit it, but for now he was enjoying being able to comfort and 'protect' his friend. Even if he was simply hugging him - something he'd done numerous times on the computer, but had never quite felt satisfied with the empty gesture. But now, sitting here with Trisste, the action felt...complete. Chuckling, "Nothing to thank me for," in response to Trisste's expression of gratitude.
Tilting his head and pulling away slightly at the muffled words, he cocked his head to one side a little. Ducking his head down a bit to try and catch his friends' eyes, he raised an eyebrow in question, "What was the rest of that?" He'd meant to say something a little wittier, perhaps with a bit of his old sting to it, but couldn't bring himself to do that to Trisste again just yet. He was happy the crying seemed to have subsided, and didn't really want it to return just yet. It made him feel awkward, not knowing what to do or how to make it stop.
Mentally reminding himself to stop reading people's journals, even as he realized how awkward and uncomfortable it had made him feel to watch Trisste cry. Now that he was able to really feel things, he was starting to get an idea of just how it would make him feel, should anyone ever have read his thoughts.

Pulling his head back a bit so his mouth wasn't pressed into Li'tae's frame, Trisste turned his gaze a bit upward so he matched eye-to-eye with his companion. His eyes were a little red and puffy from the crying, so was the tip of his nose, and his cheeks were tear stained and a little streaked, but otherwise his expression was that of someone who'd never cried before and was a complete stotic.
"What I said....I said that 'This feels nice'."
He pouted his lower lip out slightly and felt some red color return to his already pinkish cheeks, and his gaze turned down from Li'tae's face and moved towards the wall to the pair's left.
"It's embarassing to say it outloud, so I won't say it again."
Why was it getting so hard to look him in the face...?

Frowning at his companion's face he couldn't help it as a sigh escaped from between his lips. He hated to see Trisste cry like this, over something as silly as them just sitting together. Removing his arms and sitting back a little, so that he wasn't as close to Trisste as he'd been, Li'tae frowned at the pout that followed Trisste saying this was nice.
Confusion touched his face as Trisste turned his gaze away and said that it was embarrassing. Li'tae didn't understand how it could be so embarrassing to sit with someone you cared for and to enjoy their company. He saw that it was hard for Trisste, though, and wondered if he'd done something wrong. Reaching out a hand to stroke Trisste's cheek, he paused and pulled back for a moment before putting his hand on top of Trisste's downcast head. Ruffling the hair a little, he said with a sad smile, "If its..." Clearing his throat, his confusion at why it was hard to talk suddenly showing in his eyes as his frown deepened. Trying again, he muttered, "If its hard for you to be here, right now, we...don't have to..."
Kicking himself mentally, he tried again in a more jovial voice, "Besides, I'm sure giving Sionce a heart attack tonight would be a lot more fun than bumming around with me!" Smiling in a lame attempt to make his friend feel better, and more comfortable, he wished he had a better idea of how to handle emotions, and how to make someone feel better. He had always thought of humans as wasting a lot of their time by working with and on their feelings, but now he was starting to see that it took a lot out of you to navigate that treacherous road.

Trisste's face sort of turned from pouting to a look of slight anger as Li'tae tried to give off what seemed to be an apology and a choice option for doing anything other than being together, and he gave his answer to the options with a quick move of his body.
Tackling the larger youth with his frame and arms, Trisste knocked Li'tae backwards and over so that his back was resting against the ground with only Trisste's arms and solid flooring beneath him. The younger youth in question merely lay atop his friend, his face buried into Li'tae's chest and his torso resting over the frame of his hips.
"Don't...say things like that. Things like were I'd have more fun without you. I...went through all of this for you, everything. I wanted to hold you like this, and be held by you like this. It was...for you."
His words weren't as muffled as they had been when he'd first spoken into Li'tae, as he seemed to have thought ahead and turned his face to the side where it was clear of body.
"So don't say anything else would be more fun."

Shock registered on his face as he stared up at the ceiling, surprised he was suddenly flat on his back. With his eyes wide and jaw partially open, he raised his head just enough to see Trisste laying on top of him. Sighing a little, he brought one hand up and laid it on the back of his companion's head before laying his head back down on the ground, a smile touching his lips before Trisste spoke.
Raising his other arm around Trisste's frame, his fingers tightened against his back, wishing his heart would pound just a little quieter. Li'tae didn't really know if he should say something witty and biting, cry for joy, or laugh at how silly they both looked and sounded.
Staring up at the ceiling, and wishing this moment might last forever, he gave a self depracating laugh. "I just...worried a little. I know you really care about Sionce, and I thought you might be regretting not running to see him and show off your new body."

"If I had to choose between you two, no matter what, I care...more about you. I want to be with you."
Trisste turned his face and buried it once more into Li'tae's chest, his head turning back and forth as he actually rubbed it against the rough of the shirt that decorated his companion. His body tensed as Li'tae rested an arm across his own back and his face flushed a little, but since he was sure Li'tae couldn't really see his face he felt at ease.
Until he heard a sound echoing in his ears, a sound coming from within the breast of the one beneath him. It sounded like a waterfall at first, then a drum being beaten as if for a dance. It was a heartbeat, it really was, and Trisste felt his own inside his chest speed up its pace to match.
"I...I like this. I don't care if Sionce never gets to see me like this if it means spending all my time with you."

Smiling at his companion's words, Li'tae felt himself calm down. He'd been nervous and slightly frightened at the prospect of having a body to have to handle, but laying here as he was, he was quickly deciding that they had made the right decision. Though he felt silly for being so happy to simply lay there end hold Trisste, he realized this was in part due to the fact that it was still a 'novelty'. Frowning at the idea of holding Trisste just being a novelty, Li'tae's thoughts quickly transferred to doubts. What if this 'novelty' eventually ended?
The despairing thoughts were caught short and again Li'tae found himself caught between wanting to laugh or cry. It was so rare for Trisste to be so straight forward, and it made him happy to hear that. Breathing a sigh of relief that they would not be meeting Sionce in these bodies just yet, he was surprised that he was relieved in the first place. He'd never really thought about it before, but now the idea of having to greet Sionce as a human, and toting Trisste was a daunting thought, indeed.
Frowning, Li'tae concluded that he was dwelling too much on thoughts and deciphering emotions, and tried to come up with a lighter, more enjoyable topic. Idly stroking Trisste's hair as he pondered, he gave a small laugh as he found himself still focused on what Sionce's reaction might be. Not only to their bodies and the bill they had incurred for him, but also to them. He knew that Sionce did not approve of him and quite probably had a great dislike for him. That fact worried him, because he still played over the Rabbit's purposefully leading the Chesire to him, so pleasantly, in his mind.
"What...do you think Sionce will say?"

At the second mention of Sionce Trisste lifted his head up so his chin was resting on Li'tae's sternum, and he narrowed his eyes slightly with confusion and a bit of annoyance.
"Why do you keep talking about Sionce? Don't tell me that you're the one who really likes him, huh?"
Trisste's tone was slightly playful as he spoke, though his mind did keep wandering back and forth with questions over why Li'tae kept asking about Sionce. Was it because Li'tae was worried that Trisste, now with a human body, would choose Sionce over him? Or was it because Li'tae actually like Sionce more than Trisste and now that he was human, felt he had a chance?
Not wanting to mull over that, he pulled his face back down for a moment before moving his arms and pushing himself up and off of Li'tae's frame. He rested back on his knees and sighed a little, his expression a little forlorn.

Frowning as Trisste pushed up and off of him, Li'tae worked his mouth soundlessly for a moment. Though he knew that Trisste had partially meant it in jest, it still struck him. He shouldn't care what Sionce thought or said, but because he knew Trisste cared so much for him - he did. The fact that he did care troubled him, and he felt horrible for making Trisste doubt him.
Wishing he could just roll over and hide his face as it worked through several emotions - fear, doubt, confusion, sorrow, and back again to a simple frown with his eyebrows knit together in thought, he sighed. Trisste had him suitably pinned to the floor, with a leg on either side of him. Wanting to just rip the words back that he'd spoken, he found himself simply staring up at Trisste's forlorn expression, trying to find answers hidden behind those eyes, but unable to get over how it had hurt Trisste that he asked about Sionce twice.
Rubbing his face with his now free hands, Li'tae sighed as he tucked them underneath his head, propping it up to better look at his companion. Opening his mouth a couple of times in partial attempts to talk, he finally sighed and quietly said, "I just...I can't stop thinking about the White Rabbit's leading the Chesire to me, for the purpose of infecting me. Or how Sionce seems to disapprove of me so much. I don't..." Pausing as he frowned and closed his eyes for a moment, he pulled one hand out from behind his head to softly stroke Trisste's cheek before continuing, "I don't want you to be put in a place where you have to pick between Sionce and me. I...I'm afraid that combined with his dislike for me, Sionce might disapprove of us...and I don't want you to be hurt like that."
Wondering at how he had just rambled the truth of his feelings to Trisste, he frowned and reminded himself to stick to his haughty exterior next time. It didn't make him look good, or feel good, to expose himself like that. It left him feeling like some weak kitten, and that wasn't okay in his book. Turning his head to one side out of shame for being afraid, he hoped Trisste wouldn't ask him any more questions and just let it lie.

Trisste watched from his seat on Li'tae the different expression on his partner's face, and he chuckled a bit inwardly as it shifted from confused and hurt to one of deep thought, one that looked like sorrow, and then one of embarrassment. The last one set a deep blush up Trisste's cheeks, the look combined with Li'tae's honest and open confession, and he almost felt the need to bury what he could of his face inside his hands.
It was instead though that he choose to look down at Li'tae from his perch, and he moved a bit forward so that his hands were resting on the other's chest, hands open and fingers splayed. He could feel the rise and fall of Lit'ae's chest as he 'breathed', and a bit down more he could feel the faint pulse of a 'heart'. It was like this to touch another living thing, even if they weren't really alive in the first sense.
"If it ever came down to a choice between you two, who do you think I would pick? The master who's raised me from an egg, or the person who cares for me as something more than data?"
His question was open ended and for a moment he stared down at Li'tae before pursing his lips together and curling his brow.
"Idiot. If it came down to a choice I'd pick neither of you. It's not worth it for me to have to choose one over the other when care for Sionce as my companion and master, and I care you as my friend and lover. The difference is I don't love Sionce the same way that I love-"
Trisste stopped and clapped his hands over his mouth, his face burning bright red. He hadn't meant to say 'love' in regards towards his feelings about Li'tae, as long ago he deemed it a trigger word that could possibly tear things apart between them.

Slowly turning his head back to gaze up into Trisste's face, Li'tae kept on praying that Trisste would just not ask any questions. Desperately wanting to smack his own forehead, Trisste just had to ask questions, didn't he? Sighing in despair before his companion answered his own question, Li'tae felt his face grow paler with each passing second.
Staring slack jawed as Trisste mentioned 'love', Li'tae was curious as to how Trisste knew he loved him. How he knew the differences between the types of love. Frowning in thought as he stared up, he pursed his lips, thinking furiously on how to respond. Emotional situations like this weren't really Li'tae's forte, and he felt himself despairing over what to do.
Removing his hands from behind his head, he used them as leverage to sit up. Leaning in close to Trisste he gave a shrug of his shoulders, his eyes dark with whirling emotions, "Damn right I'm an idiot." Hesitating only a second he added, with a bit of force, "I'm your idiot."
Leaning all of his weight on one arm, he raised the other to cup Trisste's chin and draw it towards him. Closing his eyes only just before his lips met with his friend's, Li'tae imagined all of his emotions being forced into that kiss. Resulting in one that was less sweet, tender, and innocent than the others, becoming one that displayed well the fact that he did love Trisste. Even if he couldn't, or wouldn't, say it he wanted to show it.
Breaking the kiss after only a few seconds, his eyes glowered out from their sockets as he muttered under his breath, "And here you call me the tease." Releasing Trisste's chin from his grip, he sighed and turned his head away, hoping Trisste would get the message and he wouldn't have to do anymore talking about emotions. He really wasn't that good at them, and he was starting to feel for Fiach and his own inability to deal with them well.
