Amanikitty Skizzors Oh? I've never seen it used to mean anything other than "prissy, stuck-up, condescending b***h." How do you mean? -C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
Oh? I could name a couple of "elitists" in this guild that doesn't match that "personality". And also, if you knew was "prissy" meant, it wouldn't belong in that category. lol, if you've never seen any other definition of it then it's about time you "explore" outside Gaiaonline.
And btw, "ganguro lolita", lolwut.
-...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.- IAWTC.
Lolita =/= sugarcoating princesses that do cross-stitch all day. Lolita = normal people in frillier clothing. I can ******** be as bitchy as I please in lolita, but that doesn't make me an elitist.
Also, ganguro lolita? D: It raepz my mind. Decora Lolita I can work with, ganguro? No thanks.

The closest thing to "ganguro lolita" is Romanba, where it's basically a manba (I usually see the really dark ones) wearing princess-like clothing and sometimes Lolita. Except it's not Lolita, just another one of the Gyaru themes/sub-styles.

-...quand le soleil sera couché dans ton âme froide.- The two subcultures don't really mesh well, imo, but I guess if you can work it, you can work it.
Then again, I haven't done much research on the Gyaru or Manba styles. I should really look into them more.

Actually, it looks bad to you but obviously it doesn't look bad to the people wearing it. ^^;
Within that particular style, it's popular and considered to be a "good" look for that particular tone of tanned skin. The whole point is to add contrast and a sharp "highlight" on the skin. It's not meant to be natural, realistic or "normal." It's supposed to make you turn and look, for whatever reason you pick.
Fashion is pretty subjective. What one person things looks great isn't necessarily going to look good to someone else. In the case of gals and manba make-up, this is particularly true. I think some of it looks great [the white liner and eyeshadow can be really neat in some cases] and some of it looks horrible.
It's a matter of personal taste.
By the same merit, a lot of people think lolita looks ugly/silly/childish/bad. Please try and keep that in mind during discussion, since absolute statements cannot be made in these cases.

I don't mind the style, as I like all kinds of styles but only wear Vk and lolita. But some of the kogals and ganguro I know are really bitchy and think there better than "lolitas", A few I know are really nice though biggrin

-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
I know this one girl who moved to Japan, a couple of times she went into the Jesus Diamante store in Shibuya (she does a shopping service) and she always get glared at because she usually wears lolita. x_x;
But I know I've seen some pictures of Himegyaru going to Angelic Pretty events and stuff. :3 Very cute.

I'll be honest here, I do dress Lolita and I love it. . . but that's not my main fashion. I am, by heart and nature, a Gyaru. But I'm more in the bohemian and hippy look than the more upscale look. I guess that's because I'm from Hawaii and I'm so use to dressing that way that I'm use to it and it's what comfortable to me.
Don't get me wrong, I love dressing in Lolita with the Minnesota Lolita Society and I will do so when I'm with them, but at work and such, espically after, that's when I usually change into my Gyaru clothes and either walk home or bus it.
I have tried mixing both styles and it can be pulled off, I wear black and white in Lolita and then I do my normal light pink eye shadow and lips and then I just add the white to my nose but not as dark, more lightly so it's just barely noticeable. It came out quite nicely.
