Yakira flew close to him with amazement written on her face, "A centaur?!" She whispered softly. That explained somethings. "What was it like?" She smiled, "Secretly that's a main reason of my journey...is to learn more about the other races...which I guess is odd for a harpy. But it looks like they raised you well." Yakira definitely held nothing against the other races and was delighted in learning more about them. "You can tell me later if you wish." She added on quickly as the cave got even nearer.

"Yes, later," he said. When he reached the cave entrance he gingerly lowered first one claw and then the other. Realizing that he was about to meet a few other harpies he was suddenly self conscious about his appearance. His hair was still rather tangled from his dash upward trough the trees and had gotten further tangled in the wind. But since the two in the entrance were waiting for him he knew there wasn't really time to do anything about it. He brushed the claws of one wing over his head to at least dislodge the largest of the sticks and leaves while shaking some of the snow from his wings, trying not to splatter onto those around him.

Koda stepped forwards as Iris landed, trying to give the woman a few extra moments to explain the situation before the two strangers landed. The few words that where given added a few more pieces to the puzzle, but not entirely enough. She stepped aside to give Iris enough room to enter the cave if she so choose and turned to meet the new comers.
She could see the male clearly now. Even up close the description of fireball fit him to a tee! His most brilliant feathers framed his skin in a manner suggestive of fire and charcoal. The presence of brown in his plumage barely dulled him enough to put him below Makani... if his personality proved easier to swallow then he'd easily become Makani's equal or better.
The female however... She was flying far to close to him for comfort. It was not unheard of for a male to prefer one female over any other and stay close to her whenever possible but she doubted that was the case here. From what she had understood from Iris' hurried whispers they'd only just met. In which case, it would be best to divide the two before she started riling up the girls inside as well. They where already exited enough...
Before she knew it the pair was touching down. Koda stepped forwards and motioned for the male to enter the cave cooing, "Oh you look as if the storm got the best of you! No worries, the girls will have you cleaned up in no time!" Then she turned to the female and gestured for her to stay where she was for a moment, still smiling. "I would love a word with you though, before we go in. My name is Koda, I'm the leader of this party and the favoured daughter of our Mother. May I as your name?" Koda was small yet, only large enough to be around late teens or early adulthood in age. But she spoke with a confidence suggesting that she was not bluffing about her rank.

Kitrio smiled in return as he listened to this other female, noticing quickly how she seemed quite sure of herself. One eyebrow quirked at the mention of "the girls". Given enough time he'd get himself clean... then again, maybe he was a worse sight then he imagined. She had a title he wasn't familiar with but he assumed she must be considered high in command even under normal circumstances and not just when she led a group out on whatever errand they were all out here for and so gave a quick bobbing kind of bow. "It is nice to meet you, Koda, my name is Kitrio." He shifted his weight a bit, eager to be in out of the cold. "It is kind of you to offer shelter on an evening like this." He was a bit curious as to how many "the girls" numbered. Was it common to send out so many females at once that they were the majority of any group? Or maybe they were purposefully split up on overnight excursions. He quickly put thought down that line out of his head lest he begin to blush.

Koda turned back to the male secretly dismayed that he hadn't already entered the cave. She needed to speak with this female, and he needed to get inside before she had a gaggle of giggling girls hovering in the entrance. "Kitrio, what a lovely name!" She cooed, "And think nothing of it. To find two errant hens out on a night like this is rare enough never mind such a fine young man as yourself. Naturally, all three of you are welcome to travel back with us to the colony tomorrow, or to head your separate ways as soon as this storm settles. But what am I doing going on like this? You must be hungry, and freezing! Make yourself comfortable, we'll follow as soon as I've had a word with your friend here." She gestured once again for him to go inside, bobbing her head in a respectful manner. She was laying it on thick and she could only hope that it was making Makani sick to his stomach.

Kitrio glanced back at Kira and shrugged. Must be girl-stuff, and the way she talked it might take a while. He made a note to himself to head back this way if things took too long. It would do no good to have attained shelter for her if she was out in the cold chatting the night through.
"Well then, see you inside," he said. Travel to the colony? Should he really be gone that long? He'd already committed himself to staying here the night instead of traveling hard to make it back to Azure, but who knew how far away this colony of theirs was? For then to have gone unnoticed for so long... well it could be days away! He'd just have to ask before setting out... and make his decision then.

"Oh, I see. Well, I'll do what I can to lend assistance then." Faria backed up a bit wanting to allow the harpies that were landing a clear area with plenty of space. She had maneuvered to be just inside the cave's entrance. Her time alone made her a bit anxious in large crowds of harpies, even if there were males about. Faria perched on a rock and simply watched as the snow fell, refluffing her feathers, keeping her heat close. She heard the crackling of a fire and rose to follow it. She found an empty spot near the blaze and nestled down, relishing the feel of the warmth on her stiff muscles. Her green eyes fell upon a teenager nudging a stack of kindling. A small smile came to her face. "In charge of the firewood?", she asked softly.

Maeve didnt always like it when new harpy's joined the groups She was good but she still had so much too learn and she didnt want too be lost among the commons, you know the ones that are there just because they have no where else too go. Maeve bobed her head in greeting too the new comers each getting the same short greeting well the females at least well the only ones in the cave at the moment. Koda wanted things comfortable, but theres only so much few could do in a short time. Not wanting too get swamped she made her way too one of the others, it was the one who had singed the feathers off one of the others while she had helped make the fire. Maybe she'll have better luck by the fire.
She troted over and ploped herself down nexted too her as the other harpy nudged the small stack of kindle befor the older harpy came over too converse. "I hope you dont mind me but I think I rather be near the real fire." she offerd the gray harpy a (I hope you got the joke and i'm not makeing fun of you) smile "My names Maeve, good work on the fire, better than I could have done." she offerd up a small conversation something she wasnt that good in anyway.

Kalpana watched Iris with disgust as she treated the other harpy like dirt. And to think I looked up to her when I was a child. Kalpana wasn't all that interested in the male, if he spoke to her, great, if not, well then, she'd be pushed aside like usual. She didn't mind it, it jsut met she'd probably never have her own clutch of eggs.
Fallping her wings comfortablely shewatched the scenes around her. Shaking her head she flew around to stretch her starting to cramp wings. Even though she was a teen and in the group, she felt somewhat detached from teh group. But still she flew closer to the newcomers to act like she was part of the group, but still, it was noticed that she didn't know how to act and how her comfort level dropped a little as she tried to 'fit in'. Though in ehr head she knew she was failing miserablely.

Nynora smiled amiably as she was joined by two others. "Oh, in a manner of speaking," she replied to the dark one with green markings while indicating to a slightly older teenager, the one who would tell Nynora when to add to the fire. The one who actually understood fire and its needs.
She nodded appreciatively of the other's comment. "Ah indeed. Well, me too." She leaned a bit close to the two of them and spoke softly since she did not wish to offend this new male, "And for the moment I'll wager a real fire's much warmer than him." She giggled happily, pleased with her own little joke.

Yakira looked back after Kit with a confused expression, but returned to Koda. 'I wonder if there'll be a later...' She moaned silently before nodding to the leader of this group with respect, "I'm known as Yakira and I thank you for your hospitality."
She still kept a little distance in between her and Koda, unsure of what was going to happen next. Would she be attacked, welcomed, or warned? Probably not the welcome...she thought with a sinking feeling...but then again perhaps she was wrong?

Makani watched the whole affair in his usual irritated silence, feathers ruffled just slightly. Still, it wasn't the boy's fault. Clearly he had no clue just what was going on here. So, in an unusual gesture of kindness, the male moved forward to usher Kitrio through the crowd of all-too curious females.
"Come with me lad. You said your name was Kitrio?" He grinned companionably, shoving meticulously kept strands of raven hair out of one eye. "I'm Makani, and it seems you're in need of a bit of education as to just what you've stumbled into." And that was going to be an interesting explanation for one so clearly naive.
Iris settled herself in next to Koda once she'd landed, keeping an eye on both the new females, more curious at this point than hostile. She would have to get the story on this Faria next. Hopefully the green would have more respect than Yakira had displayed. As for Makani and Kitrio, she grinned. That lad was due for a bit of an education and Iris had a hard time thinking of anyone better to give it to him. Mac would be truthful at least.

Kitrio took an unconscious step closer to Makani as he looked with confusion at the gaggle of females. "Ah yes, that's right," he said absently while wondering why his appearance was so strange. "Nice to meet you, Makani." He noticed that the ones who'd been looking toward the cave entrance were now watching him, did that mean Yakira wasn't as interesting? Did it have to do with his coloration? He didn't see any other flame-dressed harpies.
He looked quickly back to Makani when he mentioned an education... what could he mean? Could he unravel the mystery of females? Or maybe just female harpies. Did he know why they were all staring at him like this? "Thank you," he said, "I certainly don't mean to cause any trouble. I haven't, have I?" They certainly weren't looking at him in an angry fashion, but maybe they were just waiting to see what would happen to him for whatever he might have done.

"Not a bit," Makani promised with a chuckle, ushering the other male to the back of the cave, away from said females. "You've no need to worry actually. They'll spoil you rotten and even then you've only to ask for more. In face, it can be a bit of a pain, especially when all a fellow wants is some damned peace and quiet." He rolled his eyes. "But let me explain, since it seems you weren't raised in a colony. You see, The Mountain, and all harpy colonies really, have something of a shortage of males." He glanced towards the group. "We're a rare thing, you and I. And we represent something that almost every one of them wants: a chance at a clutch of their own."

All of this sank into Kitrio's head slowly while he looked around from Makani to the other girls. It wasn't a nearly-all girl expedition because they simply broke groups up by gender... it was a nearly-all girl society!
"Ah, a clutch? All of them?" he asked.
((*bops own brain* Work darn you!))
