+[Unholy_Rage]+ MAJOR UPDATE GUYS:
UPDATE: Mish of the official Korn Board had this to say: "Im not saying I think its bullshit, Im saying I know its bullshit. I didnt comment untill I could be sure. Ive got confirmation from both The Firm, and Jonathan. This is bullshit." - Kornspace If this is true, guess someone wanted to makes us irate... They did a damn good job of it. I believe Mish, but also based on how this Donny guy sounds/types and the way the MySpace was set up, I believe my instincts. It has to be fake.

I had a feeling that the news was fake. David couldn't be that cold.

I beg to differ though, what made the news to believable was the fact David has the tendency to be like that...
I mean it's been 2 years and he's said absolutely nothing as to why he's on hiatus and if he'll be back... that's pretty cold to me.

So we were a test case: Wikipedia Satellite Syndrome is a project that’s purpose is to inform the general public as to how easily they can be manipulated and controlled by media, or absolutely anyone in the world. The first chapter of Satellite Syndrome (known as the test phase) was launched on June 2, 2008 in the form of a MySpace Music page. Satellite Syndrome claimed to be a new rock band featuring former Korn drummer David Silveria, who dropped out of the public light recently. Within hours of the page launching it was reported on the top Korn fan site in the world (KornSpace.com) that Silveria had resurfaced in a new group called Satellite Syndrome, and shortly thereafter it was reported on the number one heavy metal news website in the world (Blabbermouth.net), as well as another top news site for heavy metal and hard rock music news (ThePrp.com). Even a DJ on Sirus Satellite Radio announced that Silveria was now a member of Satellite Syndrome. All it took was creating a music page on a free community website with little html work or effort involved, and a few fake blogs to convince a whole fan base, a whole community of music fans, and a DJ on Sirius radio that Silveria had started a new band. The test phase of Satellite Syndrome was a complete success and has provided the project with the knowledge it was looking for to continue onto the next chapter and phase. So far the Syndrome was innocent enough, just manipulating the fans of heavy metal, but bigger and better things might be in the future. Hopefully Satellite Syndrome has opened up the eyes of Korn and made them more conscious of the media, and what could happen if the wrong people gained control of vast media outlets. Pretty cruel, but at the same time damn clever... One question, why us? confused Out of all the fanbases in the world, and out of all the other areas to target, why'd it have to be us? Also, guess I owe David an apology for having so little faith in him eh? sweatdrop

 >[Messed up! Psychological experimentation without informed consent..... Why not pick on some superficial fanbase instead of screwing around with us people who acutally care about the music and such. Considering what a lot of us have been through and what KoRn really means to us, It seems unfair to use us in their ******** up little experiment. Wouldnt we be naturally upset if something this screwed up happened in a band that have probably saved a lot of our lives? Ugh, this whole thing just pisses me off.]<

That makes me so ******** mad. I wonder if Silvera Knew this was going on and agreed to it. Or if they just picked a Random band to ******** with. "Open the eyes of KoRn and make then more conscious of the media, and what could happen if the wrong people gained control of vast media outlets"? That statement makes me laugh. I love how some people are so ignorant and desperate to Stir up problems for fans.

Colleen brought up a good point: we actually CARE about KoRn.
Maybe that's why they picked us? Because we'd get riled up the most.
It's flattering in that I'm-still-pissed-off-and-offended kind of way. razz

They probably planted moles around to monitor fanbases of major bands and found that WE would be most affected if something happened. At least it wasn't something that claimed somebody died...

That actually crossed my mind. David's been the prankster of the band, I thought he would've cooked it up. But I don't think so... David wouldn't be so cruel to the fans... I mean he can be cold (like he is now), but he's not cruel.

Even if we are emotionally attached why KoRn? There are plenty of other bands out there with Bigger fanbases. It just doesn't make since.

Well... maybe we're the biggest known group of fans that are emotionally attached to our band xD. That and we fit a lot of 'psywar' criteria that makes us an easy target.
