"Troublesome?"Damien exagerated a huge sigh before joking, "Very troublesome, indeed." But suddenly his skin pricked with goosebumps and a faint sound of droplets hitting water filled his ears.
Without warning the syrin darted to the surface to see the huge storm clouds rolling in with the rain starting to hit. He dived quickly and grabbed Aria's arm. "Come on!" He knew that it would be best to go for an underground shelter instead of fighting against the soon to be messed up currents.
Soon a cave entrance was in sight and he ushered her in and down past tunnels into a center underwater cavern.

Aria was pondering her troublemsomeness as an egg. Was being an egg that hard? She couldn't remember. As she went to follow him up to the surface, Damien came down at a new speed.
Once he had grabbed her hand she was dragged to follow him. Doing so she tightened her grip and followed him. "Is something big and bad coming this way?" She asked all of a sudden fearful of what was above the water.
Before she had gotten her answer she was pushed into a cave. "It's kind of dark and spooky" She said happily, "I like it!"

Damien tilted his head to listen to the waves crashing above them at the shoreline. "Nothing that's unusual...just a storm." He assured her before finally settling down a bit in the comfortable cavern.
"Like it?" He looked at her and laughed hard, something he hadn't done in a while. "Sorry-" He gulped for some some control of the laughter shaking him, "But usually girls dont' say such things." He finished wipping his eyes. "You are an interesting one, Aria."

Aria heard the waves also then shivered. She hated the way her home sounded when it was stormy. It also prevented her from seeing the stars.
"Girls aren't supposed to like the adark and spookyness?" she looked a little depressed. "What about games? Stars? The sky? Singing?" She asked frantically trying to figure out if all the things she liked were against these girl rules.
She didn't see how this matter was funny. She could be totally aginst her gender. Maybe there was soemthing wrong with her. "Is something wrong with me?" She squeaked.

"Oh! No, nothings wrong with you!" Damien smiled still fighting back another flood of laughter, "It's just I wasn't expecting it from you." He swept back a strand of his raven black hair and smiled, "It's fine to like the things that you like. And alot of girls like what you listed...just the whole dark and spooky caught me by surprise, that's all."
He nodded, "We all have a difference in opinions...I'm sure that I like some things that some syrins would find odd as well."

Aria let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodienss!" She laughed. This was wonderful. Her being a troublesome egg had nothing to do with making her different!
"Like what?" she asked sitting on a nearby rock. "I like the dark and spookiness because you never know what you'll find or what fun you'll have!"

"Well..." Damien looked down at the cavern floor, "I happen to like star gazing for one..." He sighed, "Do I really have to tell you some of it?" His gaze went around the room, "It's slightly odd coming from me but I like some flowers and other things that I believe people would find odd coming from me."

Aria smile lit up her face. " You like the stars? Me too! I wish I could be with them but they are so far away!" She sighed as he listed other things he liked. "Flowers are pretty too." She batted her eyelashes and giggled.
What has gotten into you? wondered Aria as she played with her fin.

"Far away..." He stretched backwards with a curious glance at Aria who was now playing with her fin, "Are you o- nevermind." He shook his head and started talking again, "I'm jealous of Lia and Willow getting to have a garden...but since I can't get on land and the banks get flooded, I can't do anything with plants."
He shrugged, "But at least I have the underwater world to explore." And then there were the flower like plants that were beneath the surface of the waves...

Her ears perked up. "Am I what?" She asked cocking her head. She was starting to get confused. He was talking like a really good friend but he was holding something back.
"The flowers you have given me are pretty. I don't think that anyone could find such ones as you do!" She rubbed her arm and tried to fix her messy hair. She couldn't wait until it got longer.

"Oh, nothing really." He looked at her sheepishly, "You just seemed a bit odd for a moment there and I was just curious is all."
He swam and ran his hand against the smooth slightly glowing wall that allowed them to see, "Well, I think that the prettiest flowers have been grown by Lia, I'll have to show you as much of that garden as I can someday."

"Lia?" Aria inquired curiously. She had never heard anyone with that name before. "Does she live on land too?" Aria was very excited and wanted to meet this land family of Damien's. "Tell me about your family. Are they nice? Are you the youngest?"

"Lia. It's Xylia's nickname, she's a centaur that's all into archery while growing flowers on the side." He shook his head, "I'm not the youngest, Tori is that." Holding up his hand he counted off his family, "First there's Willow whose like my older sister kind of like the mother I never had, then Xylia who first found me, lil Tori who claims me as her uncle, and crazy ole Xennek is slightly close to me." His eyes sparkled, "Then there's Cyrus, Tori's dady and Willow's brother. We get along quite nicely." He nodded, "I know more landtaurs but those are the closest ones to me. Very nice bunch, might I add."

Aria being a flexible showoff hugged her tail letting her chin rest on the top of her fin smiled. "SO they wouldn't eat me if I visited them? And they are friendly?"
She smiled pleasantly while waiting. She hummed a few notes then sang them. "Ta Tra La La" She liked the way her voice and the notes sounded.

"Very friendly and yes they don't eat syrins." Replied Damien before allowing his fingers to tap out a melody to go along with Aria's tune. "You have a rather nice voice, Aria." He commented before yawning. Perhaps the day's activities really had worn him down a bit.
