If the teacher noticed that he was being studied he didn't say nor did any of his movements give away that he was even paying much attention to the dragons attention. He was watching Valens.
The boy was catching on. Good. This looked promising. He only hoped the boy wouldn't get bored with repeating the same moves over and over again. Most students lost interest with the repeditiveness.
"Good. Your body is getting use to the movements." he spoke reaching into his pocket to take out a dried seaweed leather bar. He unwrapped it slowly before tearing off a peice and offering it to Ellie.
"Once done come here Valens." He instructed.

Valens gave a nod at the teachers words, "I will." In response to telling him to go over there when he was done... the realized he'd lost count somewhere around eleven or twelve... so he restarted his count at ten to be careful not wanting his teacher to think he was trying to get out of a few swings.
Ellie only blinked when the bar was offered out to her, concentration momentarily broken. She'd not seen anything specific about the tattoos, no hidden meanings or anything just colorful dragons it seemed. She reached a clawed hand out to take the offered piece, then took it from her hand with her mouth.
Chewing she turned to watch her boy as he moved through his motions. When he reached the number given to him by his teacher he paused, took a breath, then stretched out before walking over to Kuyoja to see what he was going to need to do next, "All done!" He said happily. He was one that hoped for approval by doing all the things he was asked for right, or at as right as he could, but didn't really expect anything. His father was sorta to blame for that.

Kuyoja nodded is head at Valen's comment, he then went to stand offering the boy the seaweed snack as a reward? "Good. take a short break whilst I demenstate the next swing you are to learn." he said as he rolled his neck and the spin realigned with a pop.
He then picked up his wooden blade and went to move a distance away so Valens would be able to see the whole move in one go.l With his feet apart he brought the weapon straight up and then in an arcing curve brought it down. The swing looked impressive despite its simplicity.
Repeating the move three times so that Valens could get a good impression of it he then stopped and turned to the boy.
"When you are done that snack I want you to try this move. It will be more difficult, since you will have to stop the weapon from hitting the ground. So go slowly." he instructed.

Valens looked at the tree, taking what was offered before he looked it over. After a through investigation he was pleased to find that it contained only some sort of plant matter and nothing meat based. He gave a smile and tossed the entire piece in his mouth, chewing. Wasn't to bad actually he thought to himself as he watched the new thing the teacher was demonstrating.
He chewed a bit more, swallowed down the snack then moved to try out the new swing himself. He had to be careful, very careful he didn't want to accidentally break the bamboo weapon he said to himself over and over again in his mind as he tried to mimic what the teacher had showed him.

Weither Kuyoja was pleased that the child ate the 'treat' without hesitation it was unclear on what the teacher was feeling at the moment. Perhaps solemn? Serious was another good description for him.
"Do you need me to show you the move again?" He asked waiting for his student oto pick up his bamboo sword and to move into position.
"I want you to do this move ten times. Once done Our lesson will be over. Please make the most of the time left." He instructed before moving off to the side.

Valens looked over at his teacher, "Will I be able to get another lesson?" He asked as he lifted his bamboo weapon and moved it once in the motion he'd been shown to get a feel for it. He tilted his head to the side then tried it again. A couple of tries at it and he was feeling a little more confident... though there was still the worry in the back of his mind that he may break the weapon so he made sure to continue to be extra careful.
Ellie gave a happy sort of sound, another lesson? That was a good thing, Valens sometimes seemed to have a short attention span with things that required attention span, concentration, and staying for the most part still. That he wanted to come back was a good thing!

Kuyoja nodded his head, "If you desire another lesson it can be arranged. I will need to have your parents permission of course." he said moving to start putting the gear away. The wooden sword the matts all had to be put away.
"If you are to come back I want you to practice. At least twenty minutes a day, with those first two moves . Repitition is key and mastering the basics will allow you to move forward." he continued. For some reason he didn't come collect the bamboo sword from Valens, despite the fact it was obvious that he was getting ready to conclude the class.

Valens's tail swish back and forth, "Yes, practice! I will do my best." He said and when he was done with his motions with the second strike he walked over towards the teacher to hold the weapon out to him, "And I will talk with my parents about another class."
He found himself wondering what they would think of him asking for more classes with the weapon with all it entailed but figured that he would find out soon enough. No use worrying over his parents, more over his father, until the time came.
Ellie rose up to her feet, stretching all her limbs out before moving to her boy's side. It seemed as if things were wrapping up, time to go. Maybe after this she could get Valens to get her something tasty to snack on? That treat from the teacher had only helped to make her aware of her hunger.

Kuyoja pushed the weapon back towards the young boys hand.
"She is yours now. Take good care of her. Practice, and become strong." He said moving back to the lockers to retrieve his glasses as well his other items.
"That Gi is also yours to keep. Next Class I expect you to be wearing it." he concluded as if he actually expected Valens to show up for whenever the next class would be.
"Ellie of course is more than welcome to join us again." He continued picking up his note book and scribbling some more into the pages.

The horse boy looked rather in shock as he looked down at the bamboo weapon as if getting such a gift were something new to him or something. He then gave a bright smile, "I will!" He said, grinning as he turned to look at Ellie, "Come on, lets go tell Mom all about class."
Ellie gave a nod of her head and the pair headed for the door, Ellie headed out first after one last look at the teacher. Valens paused at the door, "Thank you very much, these are the best gift ever!"
He headed out then, wondering why his father couldn't be as cool as the teacher was.
