Kana smiled softly and shook her head. "It's alright, you don't need to apologise." she said. She looked down at her knees for a quick moment and then looked up at him again. "I like you a lot Xennik." she admitted to him, "Which makes me want to learn more about you. What you like, what you don't like." she added. It was true, she wanted to get to know him as best as she could. He was making her feel so much better no matter what time of the day it was, he brought some sort of serenity and peace to her state of mind. Kana was actually amazed and captivated by him for those reasons.
"I don't want you to feel nervous or uncomfortable around me." she said with a smile.

Xennik's pulse fluttered at her words. How much was 'a lot'? How could he not feel nervous around her? It had been quite a while since he'd looked up from his work long enough to develop a crush on anyone. Second date and it was becoming more than a crush. More than he knew how to handle.
And, man, she had a gorgeous smile.
He struggled with himself for a moment. Then, seeming to have managed to calm himself down, he took a pen out of his pocket (he went nowhere without a pen), and held it up. "Alright then, let's play a game." It sounded childish, but he pushed on. "Whoever holds this pen gets to ask the other a question, and that person has to answer it as honestly as they can. Okay?" His heart was still fluttering and there was a small tinge of pink in his cheeks, but he was calming down.

Kana blinked in curiosity to what he had just said. A game? She almost clapped her hands to the thought. She loved playing games, even if it made her sound or look a bit childish. To her, they were a good way to entertain and have some innocent fun. Though she was excited about it, she wasn't too sure how it would work out. "Okay! I understand that part. But how does the other person get the pen?" she asked softly. Kana then turned around and crossed herself together to be facing him. "Should I be stealing it?" she giggled. "We can just take turns, it might be easier that way!" she added.
She then hesitated, she didn't want to make him more uncomfortable then he already was. "But that's just an idea!" said Kana, waving her hands in front of her. "Maybe I just misunderstood something?"

Xennik laughed, her childish behavior helping him relax. "When you answer a question, then it your turn, and we'll go back and forth. Yes?" He too adjusted so that he sat facing her, on knee bent in, his leg lying in front of him, the other leg off to his side, the toe of his boot touching the grass. "Do you want to go first?" He held the pen out to her with a smile.

Kana looked at Xennik and then looked down at the pen. She smiled once more and then grabbed the pen from his hand, touching his skin lightly. "I think I'd like to start." she said. For a moment, she looked up to the sky, thinking of a good question to ask him. Out of habit, she pressed the pen against her lips for a few seconds and then smiled, as if the light had hit her. "Alright!" she giggled.
"What are your biggest fears?" asked Kana, looking into Xennik's eyes.

Shivers ran down his spine at her touch, and Kana only missed watching Xennik blush because she was gazing up at the sky.
Xennik was jealous of that pen. That thought both amused him and horrified him.
He pursed his lips in thought at the question she'd asked. "My biggest fears..." This was a question to be thought out. "Dying of starvation." He said after a moment of thought. "Causing someone I care about to be hurt." He flinched at that one. That was a fear he had experienced before. "Rejection." He could have kept going, now that he was on the right track, but he didn't. Those three were bad enough. "Was that a satisfactory answer?" He asked, holding out his hand for the pen.

Kana watched his facial expressions has he answered her questions. They were all valuable and understand answers. Possibly very common about the human race, she thought. She then smiled and nodded, "Absolutely!" she replied to his question. She put the pen down in his hand, touching him gently again. "Your turn then!" she added.

"Alright..." He took the pen from her hand, shivering at the breif touch, and tapped the pen against his chin so that the gold bottom of the fancy pen stood out against the small black soulpatch-like beard beneath his bottom lip. He tried to think of a question as deep as hers had been.
"If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?"

Her lips curved lightly as if she was about to answer right away, but she stopped herself from speaking out loud. Your heart, is what she wanted to say. But with good thoughts, Kana realized it probably wasn't appropriate enough to say something like this just yet. Many other things came to her mind, but she was looking for the perfect answer. Something that could possibly blow him away. "Even though what I have right now is great..." she started, taking a pause in the middle. "A real home and family of mine, would be what I want the most right now." she finished, with a soft smile and a warm look to her eyes.
She didn't take the pen just yet, she wanted to see what his reaction would be.

Xennik's face melted into a soft expression like the kind people wear after watching a kleenex movie; he looked touched and almost choked up. He wanted to hug her then more than anything. She seemed so lonely and lost. He moved ever-so-slightly, as though his body had decided to embrace her without his mind's permission, but the movement turned into his holding out the pen for her instead. When she reached for it, he caught her hand in a gentle hold. When he had her eyes on his face he gave her a smile. "You're welcome in my home at any time." Then he released her hand and it was her turn.

Kana watched every single one of his movements to then catch his gaze into hers when he took a hold of her hand. Her blue eyes didn't leave him until he spoke. Right then, she felt her heart melt and an army of butterfly rushed through her stomach. Why did he have to be so charming? There was no way she would ever be able to resist him. Kana took the pen in her hand and leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his shoulders to embrace him into a hug. She didn't want him to see her watery eyes, so she burried her face in his neck and murmured against his skin, "Thank you." She staid like this for a minute or two, to then finally take control back over her feelings and let go of him.
Kana didn't directly look at him after that, her glance moved down to the pen as she thought of her next question to ask him. "Are there any dreams you haven't accomplished yet? If so, which ones?" she asked, finally looking up to him.

He actually wasn't surprised when she wrapped her arms around him. Feeling her closeness caused his heart to skip for the ten thousandth time that evening - and he'd only been here for an hour! The feather attached to his belt flushed a deep purple that would have caused the man to pass out if he'd seen it. But he didn't. He was too busy trying to catch his breath as Kana buried her face in his neck - payback, he supposed, for the way he'd kissed her earlier.
His heart continued to skitter even when she pulled away, and he knew if he looked at her face at that moment he would break down and beg for a kiss.
But he didn't, and the game continued.
"Yes, there are a lot of dreams I haven't accomplished yet. I haven't seen my mom living in the lap of luxury like she deserves. I haven't seen my brother Airik make something of himself and put his energy into a dream rather than into making a mess of himself." He smiled a little bemusedly. "I haven't seen my name in a textbook." He couldn't help but grin a little at that dream. He'd never told anyone that one.

Kana listened to what he said. She was a bit surprised by his answer. She wasn't expecting to hear what she did, but that didn't matter, she only wanted to learn about him. And that's exactly what she was doing. His last answer was the one which surprised her the most. She wasn't too sure what to think of it. The young woman looked up at him with a small smile on her lips, "What do you mean by that?" she asked right away.
"You would want to be the hero of a novel?" she paused, "Or would you want to be the author of that novel?" she giggled lightly. She didn't take the pen back just yet.

Xennik laughed. What was she thinking? "I'd like to do something worth remembering, like discovering something that would change textbooks forever, or saving someone's life, something that would make me someone, even when I'm not around any more." He smiled at her, holding out his hand for the pen, wondering in the back of his mind if by 'novel' she might have meant a romance novel. Again, he was both horrified and amused by his own thoughts. "My turn?"

Of course that's what he wanted, it was obvious, how could she not get that in the first place? Kana giggled lightly and felt her cheek flush. She nodded and handed the pen over to him without hesitation. For a moment, she was amazed how Xennik wanted to be remembered even after he was gone. She never heard anyone saying anything like this before. Why would someone want to be remembered? She wasn't too sure. Kana shrugged the thoughts away and then smiled up at Xennik, waiting for his question.
