Toni actually flushed just slightly at that, and gave a quick nod, then started moving again, following Dart. The other amazed her sometimes with the lengths he would go to in order to protect other people - specifically, her.
Smiling slightly to herself, Toni began to make a few plans as they finally started to move away from the worst of the fire and smoke. It might be fun to chase this one... and even more fun to catch him.

Meanwhile, Dart made a conscious effort to give any small fires a wide margin so that he wouldn't risk singeing Toni again. Falling into his own thoughts, he mused over his discoveries and wondered if there was anything else he might be able to do... He had an affinity to fire, he knew, but hadn't thought he'd be so in tune with it. It begged further exploration.
Not too long after, they came out on the edge of the forest, away from the burning and in no danger of being caught up in it again. Stretching, he rolled his shoulders and flicked his tails. Good. They were safe. Turning, he smiled at her, eyes twinkling and nodded. "We're covered in soot... we should probably go clean up."

Toni had started to slow down a little, trying not to cough anymore and worry Dart. Really, she'd be fine... just needed to breathe clean air for a while. She perked up at the mention of cleaning up, though. That would be... really nice.
"Yea," she agreed quickly, nodding. "Wasn't there a stream back near the HQ someplace..?" And without even waiting for an answer, she trotted that direction, looking over her shoulder with a smile. Might also be the perfect place.... for a little romance...
