In General:
- What are the prizes going to be?
We haven't really figured this one out yet... I was thinking either gold or an item from a wishlist... Maybe we could chip in and buy MCs or something? I dunno. ._.
- How many categories do you want people to be representatives for?
There are 12 categories, and we need one representative/head/leader for each.
- Can representatives enter their own categories?
Yes, because everyone will be voting, so the contest can't really be fixed unless you have like 47385643 mules.
- Do representatives have a say in the voting (for example, they get 25% of the vote, voters get 75% of the vote kind of thing)?
No, Representatives will have the same percentage of a vote as other members.
- Are there prizes for the runner-ups?
Possibly something small. It would only be fair, y'know?
- How long does the voting go on for?
Mm, that... sort of depends on the deadline for getting all the entries in. Dec. 1st is the date for now, but it's not set in stone. Maybe a week or two of voting?
- Where else will you get the prizes, beyond donations?
Well, I could probably buy one or two prizes. I'm kind of the one who started the mess, I guess. XD But this sort of depends on how expensive the prizes will be.
- Where do people send prize money?
Like donations? I was thinking the best way for that is if people hang onto the money for their donations, then buy the prize and send it to the winer themselves. Or we could do a trust system and use a mule account to send money and things to. (I couldn't use one of my mules though, because for some reason my trades don't work.)
That's how I'd imagine it going, anyway. If anyone has differing ideas, throw them out there.

  ROFL You guys seriously don't want to depend on me for like, Organizing anything I am EXTREMELY lazy, man But uhm... I was going do like 2.5k for the winners of the two contests that I (or whoever) chose for me to award. But if yea... rofl... I'm willing to do 1k each instead for each of the 12 contets or whatever contests we have... But but... What is the "Prose" category...? And for Song category, can we lump it with Poem, unless they're actually going to perform it, which (in my opinion) should be with video... rofl.. I'm not trying to be cheap, but ... If we have 10 categories, I'll put up 2k each for each winner >>;; And since I really like Poems, and Short stories (If I like the winning entrya lot, zomg, I'm REALLY picky about poetry/short stories... I'd like to give like... anywhere from 2k-5k) I don't know if you guys think 1-5k is cheap for a contest, or anything. (ZOMG, I am like CHINESE when it comes to money, so yea. xD To one of Chibi's questions: In my opinion, representatives, shouldn't get more say in the results, their vote, is counted as one vote, like the rest of us.

Prose is...
Well, sort of a mix between a poem and a short story?
Um... Let's ask the dictionary. XD
prose
–noun 1. the ordinary form of spoken or written language, without metrical structure, as distinguished from poetry or verse.
2. matter-of-fact, commonplace, or dull expression, quality, discourse, etc.
3. Liturgy. a hymn sung after the gradual, originating from a practice of setting words to the jubilatio of the alleluia.
–adjective 4. of, in, or pertaining to prose.
5. commonplace; dull; prosaic.
–verb (used with object) 6. to turn into or express in prose.
–verb (used without object) 7. to write or talk in a dull, matter-of-fact manner.
There you go.

Personally, I think the prize whould be the exact same in each contest.
Preferably in gold, because it's more useful than just an item.
With everything else that is going to be going on in the guild shortly,
we'll have a lot of chances to get some gold or items.
So, imo, 2k per winner {per contest}, maybe 1k for the runner up.
We'd have to round up a grand total of 30k, if my two-second math fails me not.
And I think a mule for the gold is a good idea.
I also think that voting should start the second all of the threads are ready.
The more time for voting, the more people will vote and the very much
fairer the process will be.
I think we're just going to have to rely on honesty to avoid mule voting.
Unless we had the votes PMed to each representative, but that'd be too much hassle.
Each category should have only one representative and
each representative should only represent their one category.
I think that they should have to say in the voting process, and be allowed to enter.
As for showing each entry....it depends on the category.
I suppose that for Tekteks, Avatars, photographs, outfit design and
avatar edit, simple images in each thread will suffice.
Fanfiction...we can create a new user on www.fanfiction.net and post
the fanfics there. Then, people could just go to the profile page on that
site and browse through the stories.
Short stories, poems and prose would have a similar process, only in
www.fictionpress.com .
And videos and songs...youtube?
I don't know. Or some other uploading site.
The songs would have to have a blank background if they are in video format.
That way, we can concentrate on the song, as opposed to the images.
I think people should be allowed to enter more than one contest, but
not more than once in each particular contest.
If we use the poll system, there's no way to know whether or not they voted for themselves, but I personally don't see anything wrong with that.
And as for questions, I think it would be fine just to post them.

Any of you girls have a mule that could hold the contest-money-stuff? I've got mules, but my trade-thing doesn't work. I can send gifts, though, so I could make contributions in some way.
But how would we know if the threads are ready? Should we only take a certain amount of entries, and once the spots are taken, start the polls?
Ooh, I really like the Fanfiction.net, Fictionpress.net, and YouTube idea, Shindig! So what, we could create an account on each and call it like PPS_Contest or something? And each contestant would be PM'd the username and password, that way they could just upload the content themselves...
And they'd call it like, "'Movie Name' by Suzy Q" or something, that way we could know what's what?
Ah, this is all so fun to think about. XD

I have mules, too, but they're part of a chain so I can't donate them. Why don't we just create one? Call it the PPS Event Mule or something...

Well, I wasn't thinking that others had to access it, really. Couldn't people just send donations to the mule, and then the prizes are given out by the mule later on? That way, no one but the owner would need to use the mule, y'know? It'd just be where donors send their donations.
