phriedphishphan Harvested Sorrow neomanga Somebands are a bit over rated. To me, Led Zepplin is way over rated. And some other bands too. But I also don't think Stairway to Heaven is the greatest song they sang though. I can't remember how it goes or the name of the song that was from them, but I like it. Here's a list of some other favorites. ZZ Top: Double Back Again Aerosmith: Dream OnForeigner: Juke Box Hero Who: Love Reign Over Me (I think that's the name) Don Henley: boys of summer (not exactly classic rock, but hey, I still like it) Beatles: I am the Walrus REO Speedwagon: Riding the Storm Out ACDC: TNT or Dirty DeedsRolling Stones: Under My Thumb Jimi Hendrix: Foxy Lady blaugh Neil Young: Hey Hey, My MYPink Floyd: Welcome to the Machine Tom Petty: Running Down a Dream Kiss: Lick it Up Styx: Cna't really say, but something from JY rolleyes And like I said, that's some of my favorites. rolleyes blaugh Speaking of over-rated.... xp Why is Neil Young highlighted? I always felt he was a very underrated artist. Though, that isn't his best song. "Cortez the Killer" or "Down By The River" would get my vote. He's highlighted because I was too lazy to highlight artist and song. That song is under-rated. xp

Heck! they hardly play the Jimi Hendrix and Aerosmith songs. I have to Watch VH1 Classics just to hear the Neil Young one. The ACDC ones are the only one that I've heard that I like from the extremely small playlist my station has. crying o_O They're over-rated in general. Those are the songs that everyone loves and talks about how great they are...etc, etc. eve if they're not on your local station's playlist.

I'm just lucky enough to go buy at least one recod over at least a 3 month period. I'm a poor kid. I don't get allowence and I don't have a job. So it's tough to get new (old) albums.

Irrelevant. Those still are over-rated songs, whether you can buy CDs often or not. xp

I changed my mind again.
The greatest rock song ever is "Death or Glory" by the Clash.

This is a real hard question, but i gotta go with Stairway to Heaven (since its Led Zeppelin, 2 greatest band in the world (after The Beatles (strawberry fields is not the best beatle song but still it rocks xd ) and the band with more records sold)
Edit: and is my personal favorite band

What kind of competition is this when you don't even allow all the wonderful bands in your vote? WHERE IS THE WHO?! WHERE'S RUSH?! Don't tell me you've never heard "Baba O'Reily" or at least "My Generation". And c'mon, I bet you've at least heard "2112" or even "Tom Sawyer". Those songs could be the definition of rock... and they are greats, too. But hey, it's your post. Whatever.

Great Shaboozi From there I picked Hotel California because I think that song is incredible, with an awesome solo. Why isn't the Who up there?! Pinball Wizard or Baba O'Riley or Wont Get Fooled Again should be up there! CCR's Proud Mary had a bunch of covers Possibly teenage wasteland?

The name of the song is Baba O'Riley, not Teenage Wasteland.
