Just as Laura had said, the small group had no problem getting inside the club. 'Limelight', Mel noticed it was called; she had never been there so far.
The group dispersed quickly; Laura went to the dance floor with Mike, Meg and her boyfriend went to some dark corner, and James was trying to talk Mel into dancing, to no avail.
The loud music was less than appealing to her, but she decided to make an effort and have some fun nonetheless.
"Do you think we can get some drinks here?"
"Sure! The bar is this way, follow me."
Mel did as she was told; the psychedelic lights hid most people's faces, and she bumped around until they reached the mayhem that was the bar area.
"What do you want?"
The girl thought for a bit "A black vodka with lemon juice would be nice!" With a nod, the boy leaned over the counter to call the barman's attention.

Namine didnt know why but she felt freedom in the music and dancing. She didn't normally dance much but tonight she felt the need to do so. Her lithe limbs moved in rythm with her body and the music and she even appreciated the sheen of moisture that appeared on her body. The scent of lilacs drifted to her nose it was a scent she loved since she was a child and as such her perfume was tinged with it. Feeling a tug on her wrist Namine turned to face her pursuer and realized it was the photographer. He had finally arrived and behind him the rest of the crew waved and smiled as they made their way over.
"Wow...darling..you sure know how to pick your outfits. You look absolutely delectable" he said.
"oh don't tease Laurent you know I learned from the best. I can't be a model by reputation only" Namine said while laughing.
Laurent reached for her hand and they danced together under the brilliant psychedelic lights.

"A black vodka with lemo....." Nate looked at them and stopped. "Mel! W-what are you doing here!?" He stammered, he had no idea what to say amd was stopped in his place.

Mel looked dazzled at the barman. That face...oh Gosh, she would never forget that face. "N...Nate?" She stammered slowly. James looked from one to other quizzically.
"Do you guys know each other?"
"Yes...well...no...we used to, but..." Her voiced trailed off. Too many memories, too many feelings were bursting out of their hidden place. She could feel she was starting to tremble slightly. Nate. How long had it been? How long since..."No, I mustn't think about it. I'm ok now...I'm ok." She plastered a faint, fake smile on her disturbed face, sighed heavily and tried to act normally.

"I-I..." Nate stammered, he didn't know what to say. Her being there was all unexpected. The only reaon he had left was to save her the heartbreak of him moving. He thought it would work but unfortunately it didn't. Nate was madly in love with Mel hen they were paired up as project partners. He had no idea as to what he should say now.

Namine stopped dancing and pulled her friends over to the spot where she had been sitting. At this point she was thirsty and thought that maybe she should order some drinks for the table. She wondered if they had any kind of foods they could nibble on. Suddenly she was a bit hungry and wanted to have something to eat with her drink. She noticed the bar seemed full and wondered if she should make her way over to try and get some service.
"Hey Laurent..you wait her im gonna head over to the bar and see if i can get us some service. So far no ones come to this table. I mean it is limelight so they are probably swamped."
"Ok love but make sure to hurry back weve got lots to catch up on" he said.
Namine smiled at Laurent he was such a good guy and one of her good friends in the industry. She was happy she came out tonight. Making her way to the bar Namine wondered what everyone would like to drink.

The pain. Mel had been worried sick when Nate had left; she had feared the worst. Then, she had found out he had just moved away, and it hurt her even more. She remembered everything; the love and the hate, the soul-eating hate and anger she had felt at him then. Still those feelings screamed inside of her, no matter how much she tried to hide it.
Right now, the anger was taking control. The cold, venomous hate at the boy who had had the nerve to leave her without so much as a goodbye. The boy who had used her and then disposed of her. It was with an icy tone she finally talked "You have customers waiting for you...I better go." And she turned and left for the dance floor, to look for Laura. Thank God the dark lights hid her eyes and the streaming tears...

Namine noticed the girl at the bar and she could tell something wasn't right. Apparently her and the waiter knew each other. Namine wasn't sure if she wanted to approach the waiter now. She did want to get some service for her table but it didn't seem like this would be the appropiate time. She wondered what was wrong between those two and it seemed as if some invisible tension hung in the air. There were so many people around but for some reason she had zeroed in on those two and the emotions that hung in the air. WEll..it was only because she was on her way to get drinks. It's not my business...she thought. Namine tried instead to get another waiters attention at the bar.

Star watched the scene in front of her. "Well that was awkward, I can tell." Star wanted to ask what had happened, but someone caught her eye. Oh my god! It's Namine! Star thought excitedly. Star made her way over to Namine. "Hello Namine. I know you must be having an off night, but I'm Star Ferns. Owner of Ferns Fashions. It's a pleasure to meet you." Star cooed.

"W-wait Mel!" Nate said as he left from behind the bar to go after her. He needed to explain to her that it wa an accident. A huge mistake that he had no intention of wanting to happen. He just hoped he could explain it well enough, that he wanted to spare her the heartbreak.

Namine turned at the sound of her name. At first she thought it was someone from the crew but the melodious voice was not familiar to her. She introduced herself as Star Ferns but like anyone in the industry Namine did not need her introduction she knew who Star was. Her designs were all the rage. "Hello Star..may I call you that? I know who you are your fashions are much sought after. So tell me are you enjoying this place? Im here with my photographer friends and his group. How about you?"
This place sure is popular and it seemed like anyone who was anyone frequented this club. After all she just bumped into Star Ferns..a top notch fashion designer.

The girl felt her body freeze. Mel. He was the one who started calling her that, so long ago. She knew she had to take a grip on herself, and making a scene in that place was the last thing she needed.
"If I just...get out of here...then this will all end, and I'll be ok again..." Even though part of her wanted to listen to Nate, to know what had made him leave her like that, to know there had been an excuse, something, anything that made his actions bearable, she didn't feel strong enough to have such a talk at the moment.

"Mel...please wait." Nate called after her. He wanted to explain, if he didn't get the chance to he would never forgive himself. He felt horrible for what he had done. He didn't mean to break her heart.
