Negotiating the cave was no problem now, for Aureate had gotten stuck in here a time or two in his early days as a stallion.. But now he new when and where to stretch his wings up, to tuck them tight to his back, and to skitter sideways when an unexpected turn offered him some room to move... He appeared at her side with little trouble, grinning. "Come on then! On to the adventure, hmmm?"

“Yes!” Dahlia answered enthusiastically. It was quite obvious from her expression that a part of her would love to dart up again, but she knew it would be smart, and therefore less painful, if she let Aureate lead the way. She was happy she walk up close to him again, and the small nagging in the back of her mind that her parents would be worried about her soon seemed to fade away.

Nosing her cheek gently, Aureate rumbled a soft laugh and strode forward, winding around the stone pillars and holes with a sinuous, almost feline grace. "Watch your step, Lady Dahlia..." He murmured. A wide curve appeared in the path before him and he stopped waiting for her to draw even with him. Just around the corner, a slight hole somewhere in the cave's outer wall permitted sunlight to filter in, into the cave's main chamber. The walls, lined with crystals, captured and reflected the light all about the room, making it glitter like captive stars. Fortunately, with his dark body and wings blocking what little light shone around the corner, Dahlia had no idea what she was in store for. "Are you ready?"

"More ready than you can imagine!" she said with a nuzzle back to him. She took steady steps, testing the uneven ground with her hooves before her stride became confident. She was good on the ground, having grown up in the mountains her hooves were prepared for uneven, stony ground, but she looked nervous at all the over-hangs and outcroppings that hung from the ceiling. She had already proven herself to be a klutz once this day, and she didn't want to embarrass herself again.

Extending a wing so the silken feathers were between her pricked ears and the rocks plunging from the ceiling, Aureate nosed her. "Come then, you may go first.. Just around the corner, My Lady..."

[The fur on Dahlia’s neck was standing on end as she eagerly trotted forward, dipping her head to avoid the low ceiling, and came across the chamber in the next room.
((I’d figure I’d leave the desc of the crystals up to you incase you had anything particular planned <3 ))

(LOL.. That's why I kept throwing little notes about its appearance in past posts...)
Aureate followed her slowly, never getting tired of visiting the crystal caves. Light crept in behind the crystals, captured in their gleaming facests, reflected about the caves until the entire room glittered. Watching the light strike Dahlia's gleaming feathers he gave a soft rumbling murmur of appreciation, nosing her delicate hindquarters as he stepped up to her side once more. "What do you think?" He asked softly in her ear.

((Sorry XD I just feel strange describing someone else’s scene they’ve set up <3 ))
Dahlia stepped dead in her tracks at the sight before her eyes. It looked like the night sky has been gathered up and hidden away in here, just waiting for them to see. “Is this where the stars come to sleep?” she whispered in astonishment. She was speaking figuratively, but the wonder in her eyes spoke to how amazed she truly was by the sight. “ I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.”

((LOL, its ok.. I was just trying to give you some ideas as to where she was 'going' so she didn't stumble in blind... ^.^ ))
Aureate smiled, glancing around this haven. Had he ever brough anyone here? Anyone at all? No... Not even his godfather... Or Imrikalto, who was more a brother to him than his own sibling.... But he had shared this place with her... Watching the wonder light her lovely face, he could not regret such a choice. "Who can say? I am but a son of the wind, I do not question the stars... But I visit, and I pay homage, and hope that is enough..." He nuzzled her cheek tenderly. "Does it please you? Seeing this place?" 'With me?' Went unspoken.

Dahlia felt her ears and face under her fur start to burn and she stomach flutter. She smiled as he nuzzled her face, nuzzling back after a moment more tenderly that she probably meant to do. "I love it," she said. "Its the best place I've ever been."
She quieted for a moment, just looking at the display before a thought crossed her head. "Do you take many others here?" she asked. She didn't understand why the thought of that made her feel almost angry, and a bit sad.

He nickered gently in thanks when she returned the caress, but shifted a little on his hooves like an embarrassed colt at the question. What would she think of the answer? "No.." He said finally. "I've never brought anyone here... Nor have I even mentioned its existence... Not even my Godbrother and Godfather know of this place... Of some of my other havens, yes... But not this place..."

Dahlia gave a little nod to Aure as he answered. That answer seemed to sate Dahlia, and made her feel happy, content, and maybe even a little tired. Like she could lay right down and sleep here among the ground-stars and Aureate. Her tail flicked back and forth as she gazed at the crystals some more, a happy smile on her face. Perhaps there was more of the cave to explore? But she didn’t offer up any suggestion just yet, this place was fine for now. A nagging voice in the back of her mind reminded her that her parents’ would be worrying about her soon, but she stilled the voice for now.

Standing and watching her in the glow of the crystals for several moments, Aureate felt a slight tug at his heart... They had been too long... Too long indeed... He sighed softly, wings wilting... "I had better get you home, Dahlia..." He murmured softly. "Your family will be worried... Come, if you like, I will bring you here again..."

Dahlia was snapped out of her almost trance-like state by the sound of Aure's sweet voice. "Hmm?" She smiled, realizing how captivating the view was and tossed her mane a bit. "Oh? I suppose you're right." She couldn't keep the dissapointment out of her voice even though she knew he was right. Xandir and Sequoyah would have quite an ear full with her if she wasn't home soon.
"I would love for you to bring me here again," she said with a smile, relunctantly turning her head away from the crystals to look at him and then the exit to the cavern. She turned around and headed slowly towards the exit, looking behind her, both to see if Aure was following her, and to get one last glimpse of the beautiful cave.

Waiting after she had turned away, Aureate bowed low to the crystal walls... This place was serenity... His peaceful place... He was forever grateful for the peace he found here... Turning, he found her watching him, and smiled. "Come... I shall bring you again..." With a wink he gave her hindquarters a nudge and moved toward the exit. "But I believe your family will miss you, hmm?"
