Dark Lord M
I wouldn't say he has equal powers, since God created anything and therefore all-powerful so he could take down Satan any day. He lets him hang around to keep a balance between good and evil, test man, and because Satan was once one of his best angels. (Last one is an opinion.)

I believe Satan was an archangel and kind of acted like a lawyer or prosecutor in heaven.
Lucifer was one of the Seraphs.
Anyway, that makes sense, or maybe either when God appered or when he created the universe Satan was created by accident to balance him out or thay are actully good friends who happen to have rivaling jobs. Who knows?

Hang on a minute, where in the Bible do you get Satan being a seraph from? Where does it say there has to be equal and opposite powers. Frankly God is the ruler of all, and Satan will be judged with all else so it says in the Bible. Good and evil are not opposite. Good will triumph in the end. And there are such thing as good traits--i.e. virtues. But there are no equal and equally desired evil traits. Even corrupt rulers want honest underlings. There is no basis in Christianity for equal and opposite powers. That idea comes from Taoism as I said earlier.

OK, the "balance" thing is what I think would make more sense. Nothing about Christianity. And Lucifer's seraphness is from the same place that says Satan was Lucifer, unconfermable Christian lore.
Oh, and I believe God will win in the end, but what happens after that is unknown. A new beginning?

The Bible says what will happen.
And now I feel insulted that you had to look up all the verses and form a rationale to find out that your beliefs weren't based directly on Scripture, but some ideas you or someone else can up with.

But isn't the bible just the believes of someone else? No one really knows the truth, but we can belive...

I don't know who you've been listening to, but Christians believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God.
Tons of people know the Truth! God knows the Truth!
You are falling prey to religious pluralism!

Well my self-created religion that is a combined version of ALL RELIGIONS of the world, meaning Christian, Judiasm, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and most prominent pagan, philosophies, and folkloric beliefs are combined into one big one for me. I believe that things happen because it's belief, so yeah... It's really hard to explain but it's core is belief. So if Wei believes in something than he could be right because he believes it. :s

Do you want to know what is really the source of the world's problems? It isn't Christians or religion.
It's sin.

Well, look.
I read an article on this for my worldview class, and I was tested on this material, so let's see what I really learned. ^^

All religions cannot be true because they all make claims to be the one truth. Islam is unitarian theism meaning that they believe in one God in one person. Christianity is trinitarian theism meaning that we believe in one God in three persons (the Trinity). Nondualistic Hinduism is pantheistic meaning they believe in a vague force, Brahman, that permeates everything and is the only true reality. Christians believe humans are sinful, Muslims believe that humans are born sinless, and nondualistic Hinduism believe there is no sin and we are all part of Brahman. Christians believe they are saved through faith in Jesus Christ, Muslims believe they are saved by good works, and nondualistic Hindus believe that they are saved by enlightenment. How can all these differing views all claiming to be the only truth all be true?
