Deb laughed. "Well it's nice to finally 'officially' meet you, Jay," she winked. Clarence is out right now, taking care of a little emergency so he asked me to take good care of you until his return. Is there anything you'd like to do? Or to ask?" She took a seat of her own and smiled brightly at Jay. "I'll answer all your questions, I'm sure you've got many of them," she laughed.

"Uh.." Jay really didn't have any questions. He scrambled to think up something anything. He looked at the pictures on the wall and finally found something. "Who are all those kids?" He forced a smile. Jay really didn't feel like talking, but he didn't want to insult Deb.

"They're others just like you," Deb smiled fondly at the pictures. "Many of them had problems at home and didn't know where to go but luckily we've found them in time to help them and make sure they ended up alright."
She stood and walked over to one of the pictures with the boy that was seen more often and gently picked it up. She smiled a bit sadly at it, and then at Jay. "And this is Matthew." Her fingers stroked the glass a bit, and she stared down at it, lost in thought. "He was our son," she spoke after a while and smiled sadly at Jay again.

“I’m sorry,” Said Jay, “I didn’t mean to bring up bad memories...” He looked down. He felt bad for Deb. Jay knew what it was like to lose someone. He had lost both of his real parent. His mother he lost to illness. His father he lost to alcohol. Jay now had his foster parents and they were good to him until he became a troublemaker, but it was never the same . No matter how good things were in his foster home it was never the same. Jay smiled weakly and tried to lighten up the situation. He couldn’t think of anything else to do.

Deb smiled at Jay, still a bit sadly. "That's alright dear, my son will never be a bad memory to me." She took a breath then. "Oh silly me, I must be depressing you quite badly! Ah, I will just--" she looked up, hearing the sound of a door opening. "Oh! It's Clarence. We'll be right back, I just have to go ask him how it went. Make yourself comfortable, dear-- Jay." She hurried out of the room to greet her husband.
The couple stayed away for a good ten minutes before Clarence entered along. "Hi there, Jay," he smiled, a bit tiredly and raised his hand in greeting. He sat down in the chair Deb had occupied previously and took a piece of cake. "Pfff, it's been quite a day already. I'm glad you've come. How have you been? Did anyone found out about what happened? We've been trying our hardest to keep it quiet. I hope it worked." He smiled encouraging at Jay before taking another slice of cake.

"I've been fine," Jay said, "nothing out of the ordinary has happened." Jay sat still but relaxed. He knew he liked Deb enough, but he wasn't sure about Clarence. Clarence had been threatening when Jay had tried to escape. Jay showed the man respect more out of caution then like. He took another sip of his drink.

"That's great!" Clarence smiled. "I'm glad our efforts paid off." He did not say anything else for a while, taking a few sips of his own drink and taking another slice of cake. He was waiting for Jay to speak.

Jay waited for Clarence to speak again and after a while he started to grow impatient. "Well?" He finally asked. It was obvious that he was getting tired of waiting. He had been forced to come here and do this. He at least wanted to do something other than sit around and stuff cake into his mouth.

Clarence smiled a bit apologising. "I'm sorry. I'd like to start by knowing a bit more about your powers. What exactly is it that you do? And how powerful is it?

"I break things." Jay answered, "I don't know anything other than that." Jay spoke honestly with his typical apathetic response. He felt like he was sitting the in the principal's office after breaking something. The principal had many talks with Jay. The only difference between those times and this time was that Jay was being honest. He had tried to figure out his powers, but he had never been successful.
((Sorry I misinterpreted the question. ))

Clarence nodded. "I see. Do you know how it works?" he asked, curiously. "Is it by touch? Or shockwaves through air? Does it only work for a certain material? Did you ever experiment?"

"Touch," Jay answered quickly. He then reached over and grabbed another piece of cake. He took a bite and held it tenderly in his hands. His eyes were focused on Clarence now. He wondered what the man was thinking. It was abnormal, in Jay's opinion, for someone to be so interested in such a freakish and destructive ability.

Clarence nodded. "That simplifies matters a bit. What is the biggest thing you managed to destroy?"
And on and on it went. Clarence kept on asking Jay questions, things about what he could do and to what extent and did this work or that. Did he ever try this? What were responses from the environment? Did anyone else know? It started with the questions of his powers and then moved on to questions on his social relationship to others. How was he feeling about that? Didn't he feel lonely? Would he like to get in touch with others of his age that were going through the same? And so on. Clarence made sure to go as indepth as possible without annoying Jay and skipped around subjects, keeping Jay interested and moved one before he could lose interest and then skipped back to a previous subject. All the while punctuated with funny stories and jokes. After a good hour of this, Clarence finally sat back, nodding thoughtfully.
"I think I understand. But the best understanding of your powers will be reached by training and experimenting with them. I have a training room set up for you. How do you feel about a short orientational training session?"

"Sure..." Jay said and stood up from his seat.
The interview had been somewhat annoying at times, but it pased quickly enough. Clarence seemed to add some interesting stories and Jay may have smirked every now and then. However, Jay had not liked being asked questions about his personal life, but Clarence managed to get the answers with some prying. Jay told Clarence he would like to keep this a secret as possible. The less who knew about his abilities the better.

((Alright, what follows next would be a short training session for Clarence to get to know Jay a bit and how he responds and what he does, etc. Following this would be regular training sessions. Once a week (or more if Jay wants to) or when something happens.
I'm not really planning on RPing these with you, unless you'd like to. If you want you can summarise it or have a basic understanding of what happens. I'm hoping Clarence manages to win at least a sort of confidence from Jay. ;D
Anyway, I think this pretty much ends this RP? Was there anything else you wanted to do in this RP? Its fairly important we determine how Clarence/Jay relationship follows. We could do another one if you like, in a later point in their relationship? Or we could do something entirely different, if you've got the inspiriation for it. ^^ You can PM me, AIM me or brainstorm in here, whatever you prefer. ;D ))
