I actually found Cloud to be cruel to her on the way back. His, "I thought you were cut out to be in SOLDIER" (paraphrased of course) sounded a bit snarky to me, not playful like some seem to think.

OH! And look what I found from the FFVII Ultimania.

Quote: In Cloud's "Compilation Check": In the beginning of FF7, Cloud is know like a "cool SOLDIER", this can be detected only through his behavior. Although it's been distinguished as a lie afterwards and he seems to plan to act like one, he rarely shows any emotions. His smile in FF7, while still being controlled by the story basis of JENOVA's consciousness, is only seen during the conversation with Aerith. After that, even though he brings himself back and tries to lead a new life, the bond of the awareness of sin makes him almost always keep a somber face. Consider this, his smile in the end of AC is quite impressive. And there's a one-liner besides the pic: In Church of the Slum, after getting rid of Reno and his Shinra chasers, Cloud and Aeirth laugh with each other.

heart Interesting...to say the least. biggrin I do agree that Aeris has a strong effect on Cloud. Quote: His smile in FF7, while still being controlled by the story basis of JENOVA's consciousness, is only seen during the conversation with Aerith. (Unfortunately...that was probably the only time he ever smiled in that state of mind.... sad ) Quote: After that, even though he brings himself back and tries to lead a new life, the bond of the awareness of sin makes him almost always keep a somber face. I suppose they're leaving out Case of Tifa and during the time when he was at peace. neutral Well, I think in this compilation check, it's focusing more on Cleris relationship, so points for Cleris. smile Quote: Consider this, his smile in the end of AC is quite impressive. Yup! whee Especially when it's like he was laughing with the kids. whee

Twindream Yin and Yang? eek I've never realized that! Though I must agree with Pink that it sounds a little far-fetched, but the idea is also nice. When I saw the scene, I got the impression that Cloud's guilt lies in not being able to protect Tifa as well, hence the wolf. Aeris' presence was there, but the fact that she healed them both, like, watching over them does have foreshadow, but I can't say whether that's a point to Cleris. sweatdrop Honestly, Aeris watching over the two of them goes right in line with The Madden. If people don't remember, Aeris gave Cloud and Tifa her blessing and smiled at them like an affectionate mother. She's always watching over Cloud AND Tifa; and to some extent even Marleen and Denzell. Twindream Oh yeah, actually, the song "Water" when Tifa and Cloud are unconscious, they say it's actually a mix between Aeris and Tifa's theme. I don't remember the source, I'll have to look it up. Holly s**t Batman! Maybe that scene was really Aertif the whole time!!! rofl

Consider this, his smile in the end of AC is quite impressive. He smiled at Tifa in LO and he smiled twice in CoT and even once at the end of AC. Hmm... four smiles for Tifa and only one for Aeris...

I agree with Pink that the smile was impressive. I think Cloud's smile(s) and Aeris, Zack, and Tifa are all different. I think when he smiles at Tifa, it shows that he cares--- perhaps returning her feelings in a way. I thought that Cloud's smiles at Tifa have always looked affectionate. He knows that when he smiles, it obviously makes her happy. With Aeris AND Zack at the ending, like I keep saying--> The fact that two people he deeply cared about are dead and don't blame him is what is making him smile. He "unfroze" Aeris smile there, don't you think? ;] She smiled and said that everything was alright. Cloud smiled back in agreement, free of burden and sin. And finally, when Cloud smiles at Zack. (CC) He looks truly happy, alive... like a little kid almost. All of Cloud's smiles are different.

More evidence to the Aerti pairing. rofl First TidusxYuna and now AC. xd I agree with you Lunar...that his smiles are different for each person...different for Aeris, different for Tifa, different for Zack. For Tifa.....it's a deep, affectionate understanding. Like the end of AC...Tifa giggles a bit, before crossing her arms, rocking back and forth with a smile, before relaxing a bit to a very calm, loving, more-than-words smile which I found very meaningful...how she did it. And Cloud smiles back...too bad they didn't give enough time to really evaluate his smile, but to me it looked like relief, happiness.

I just noticed something interesting–when they say “Consider this, his smile in the end of AC is quite impressive.” they have a picture of the smile that he gave to Tifa, not the one he gave to Aeris and Zack. Also when he smiled at Aeris-since he was still under the efect of Jinova, how are we suposed to know if that smile was even real? Im not saying it wasn't real but if I remember corectily, most of what he did at that point wasn't really him, since he was still "being controlled by JENOVA's consciousness."

No, not at all. O_O; I'm actually a part of the Cleris Forums. Not because I'm a fan of the pairing, but because I'm open to new ideas, and I support a Cloti/Cleris alliance.
She's been nice to me, so I don't see where all the "hate" for her is coming from. ^^;
She can be biased some times, but like Pink said~ Aren't we all a little biased some times? : X And even if some of her ideas are biased, it's not reason to dislike her as a person.
