As Tadewi was playing she was also watching the Soquilis curiosity. There were 2, a mare with what seemed like gorgeos almost purple wings and a cheerful little grey colt prancing around in the water. They were so fun to watch she was almost mesmorized.

Then all of the sudden the colt seemed to here something and cantered away leaving the mare all alone. Tadewi wished the grey one would have stay so she she could watch more but that wasnt something she could control. This being know, still playing her flute, she turned her full attention to the winged one.

Lightly stepping out of the water, Maize slowly turned her head, her ears catching the soft tune of the flute floating towards her. Intrigued by the sounds it made, she walked slowly to its source... and found it to be coming from a tanned human, with three black braids sprouting from her head, moving gently in the wind. She got within a safe distance of the human, and watched her intently, listening to the melodic and soothing sounds of the flute.

After snapping out of her trance, she went up close to the human and nudged her thigh lightly in thankful appreciation for the music. She bowed once, her wings shifting upwards to collect the rays of the sun which bounced off and made her feathers seem to shimmer. She then quickly darted off into a fast gallop in the direction of her teepee, leaving the human and the flute behind, never turning her head to look back again.

As Tadewi was playing she notice the winged soquili slowly moving toward her. At first she felt a little frightened but then looking again she notice that the mare seemed to be in some wort fo trance induced by the flutes music. Relaxing a little she begain to play again glad that her song was enjoyed.

After a little while however, the mare seemed to regain herself and gently nudged Tadewi's leg. The young woman thought of this as some kind of thanks and then sadly watched the marerun away. She hoped that someday soon she would meet the intreaging intriguing soquili again and then continued playing her melody.

Nagual followed in after the Kalona. The water clung to her in a much less graceful manner. The filly looked like a drowned rat where the water clung. She ignored it, not really knowing what she looked like at the moment; nor did she really care.

"The second? I would imagine more. Are the incredible differences that bad to them that they cannot see the beauty? Regardless, the loss is on their part, not yours." She dropped her head and took a sip of water, relishing the feel of the freshfully cold water as it trickled down her throat.

'I suppose they cannot...when you are afraid - that's all you see.' Izusa flicked her tail again, catching the water with the tendrils. The water was cooling against the skin, but she knew not to stay in too long for fear of cramping the muscles in her legs.
She rustled her wings.
'Does no one comment on your horn? That is a difference from the other's...the ones different are a small number to the more ordinary of the Soquili.'

As the sun began to slowly set across the lake Tadewi's melody slowly diedaway. Felling content with herself after he long play she slowly got to her feet and stretched. Taking one last look over the water she hopped briskley across the rocks and back into the forest to find something to eat.

Her thirst satisfied, the filly walked out of the river. At the banks, she shook her whole body. Much of the water sprinkled off, but the lasting effect was that her hair stood on end. Nagual didn't mind, and she chose to ignore it... besides, it had been awhile since she last washed off!

"Hmmm?" Nagual looked over at the Kalona. "A horn?..." Not completely understand, the filly mentally shrugged it off. With a grin, she nodded, "Oh, I've only seen a very few number of 'different' soquili... too bad I am not one of them. I would love to have wings, and soar through the sky... Although, if I was flying I would probably miss seeing my berries."

Flap, flap, flap.

Verbena whipped around and glared over her shoulder, stopping with hooves planted in the mud at water's edge. The seagull that had been following her all day sat on a tree branch, head innocently cocked to the side. "Go away!" she hissed. It naturally began to preen a wing, ignoring her completely.

With a sigh the pink Soquili lowered her head to the water. After a trial run, which earned her a noseful of river, she got the hang of the swift-running water and proceeded to drink to her heart's content.

Once she'd had her fill, she could figure out how to get rid of the winged pest. It had been chasing her half the morning without reason and it was getting tiring. Experimentally, she waded in and kicked water at it, but the gull only squawked insultingly and hopped to another branch. Well, it had been worth a try...

A little way upstream, a lone figure waded on the shallow edge of the river by himself, taking his own sweet time in doing so. The whole day had passed on rather uneventfully for said figure, and he decided to just take things slowly and enjoy what nature had decided to throw(or not to) at him.

By and by a sillouette of a bird of prey passed overhead, circling above the buckskin mustang before disappearing from sight, then appearing shortly again after. It was obvious the raptor was rather bored himself, and had nothing... Aha!

Dropping from the sky, the bald eagle dived towards a little seagull he had spotted a few way ahead. His purpose was not to hunt it down, however - he was bored, and needed any source of entertainment he could find.

A shadow cast on the water, momentarily cutting the sunlight that danced across the moving ripples. The mare paid it no mind, passing it off as a cloud or something of the sort. Behind her the gull went still and silent on its perch, frozen into terror. If it didn't move, it wouldn't get eaten!

Verbena heard the seagull squawk far too late. Suddenly, the shadow that had been circling overhead banked and grew, shaping itself into a raptor, hurtling toward its prey. Startled, she whinnied, jerking back into the water. That bird was enormous. Another squawk broke her out of her frozen state, spurring her to race her way to shore. But it wouldn't be fast enough to save the smaller bird - a fact that didn't miss her.

It wasn't TOO long of a walk to the lake, thankfully, and was probably shorter a trip because Ilianna had alternated between a brisk walk and a gallop. This was mostly because she kept teasing Eachann by nipping at his mane or ears before speeding away in a "Catch me if you can" sort of game, her tail waving proudly like a banner as she sprinted.

Soon enough though, the scent of water was thick in the air and they could make out the glimmery water surface as the sun shined above.

Ilianna was faster than he thought. Everytime after she nipped at his mane or ears, he would go after hers. He would only catch them every once in a while.

The sight of water was almost too welcoming after the semi-darkness of the forest. Strangely, Eachann felt most at home by the water. Probably because he emerged from his basket at the beach.

The mare hummed cheerfully as she headed for the water, the scent of the lake strong in her nostrils. She loved to swim, so it wasn't surprising that she immediately went in and went as deep as her knees, a whinny of delight escaping despite herself.

"Oh it's always so lovely at the lake," she murmured, eyes half-lidded in bliss as she looked across the waters towards the distant shore.

Eachann trotted to the water, whinnied and splashed in after Ilianna. "Absolutely beautiful," he said not even glancing at the water, but at her. Quickly, he turned to the far off shoreline to hide any traces of embarassment.

When he splashed in, she turned to face him, pleased that he came right in also, and sent a playful splash his way before he said what he said and turned his head away.

At first it took her a second to understand. She had been talking of the water and had automatically assumed that's what he meant, but why would he look away as though embarassed if that's what he was referring too? Maybe he meant her?...or maybe not. She didn't want to jump to conclusions. She laughed softly to herself; it was bad to assume anything, she decided privately.

"Do you come to the lake often, Eachann?" she asked gently as she drew up alongside him and peered through her curled forelock at him.

Feeling the slight heat leave his cheeks he turned back to her, grinning. He hopped she was sure he ment one thing or another. He'd rather have her know what he ment than have her get a mixed idea. "Not as often as I'd like, but sometimes I come here."
