Grinning, the boy nodded. "Try your best! You can do it!" As Tanner dribbled, he followed behind a small distance, watching the child.
When Tanner fell, however, Iah became alarmed and sped up. Within a second, he was crouching down by the other boy, a worried frown spread over his face and his brows knit together. "Are you alright?"
Again, Kaiyumi had let out a yelp of surprise, before hurrying towards Tanner and Iah. For the first time that day, her eyes were serious as she started towards them.

Don hurried his way over to them all once he saw Tanner take a spill and bang up his knee.
"Uh-h-huh" Tanner sniffed out when Iah asked the question. He kept his pudgy hands over his knee, it was most likely bleeding judging by the boys grasp on it and the rugged condition the basketball court was in.
"Buddy are you ok?" Don asked worried as most paranoid parents would be as he knelt down to Tanner on the side opposite of Iah.

Iah frowned, reaching out to pat Tanner's back gently. Hesitating, Kaiyumi bit her lip before digging through her pant pockets. "I have a large bandaid," She said after a moment, drawing it out of her pocket. "But we'll need to take a look at his knee first, and probably clean it." She held the bandaid out to Don, but her eyes strayed towards Tanner. "Poor Tanner..."
"Tanner?" Iah tilted his head so he could see the boys face. "Can you remove your hands, for a second? We just need to take a look at it, alright?"

Tanner looked up at Iah for a moment tears rolling down the sides of his cheeks before looking back down at his knee, "K-kay." He sniffled as he slowly removed his hands from his knee. It was skinned up and bleeding, but it didn't look as bad as it could have been. It was difficult to see the full wound seeing as the fur on his legs intervened.
"Thanks Kai." Don said somberly as he was grateful that someone had a bandaid, he wished he had come more prepared.

Kaiyumi stood behind Tanner, resting a hand on the little boy's head as he removed his hands from his knee. The gave a little flinch at the skinned knee, as well as a relieved sigh. It could have been worse.
Iah leaned over to take a look, before giving a small nod, and smiled at Tanner. "It'll be fine - just a little scrape is all." They had to clean it, though. "Is there any water around here?" Raising his head, the Growlithe boy took a look around at his surroundings, biting his bottom lip hopefully.
Kai gave Don a nod, and small grin. "You're welcome." Then, she turned her attention to their surrounding as well, looking for a bathroom, fountain...anything.

"Uhm, I brought a water bottle, I think I left it over by the swings. Uhm...I'll be right back." Don said turning to go run over to the swings reluctantly. Like any new parent he didn't want to leave his sons side when he was hurt, even if it was to help.
Tanners stomach knotted up when he saw Don leave. He knew he was going to be back but still, being a child he wanted his daddy when he was hurt. So he continued to sniffle.

Both Kaiyumi and Iah glanced from Don, to Tanner, and then back again. After a second, the two of them exchanged glances, before they both sat down on the concrete in front of Tanner.
"Don't worry, don't worry!" Kaiyumi said, hastily, "Your daddy will be back ina second! He's just getting some water so we can clean your cut, is all!" Iah nodded in agreement. He knew for a fact Don would be there and back to his child within an instant.

Tanner placed his hand on Iah's shirt and clung to it as he would a safety blanket or teddy bear. He seemed to have taken a liking to the boy and was becoming more comfortable with him.
Don was back quite soon and out of breath, he had wasted no time. "I got the water." Don said kneeling back down to Tanner. "Now buddy, this might be a little cold and might not feel too good, but it'll help." He said putting a hand on his sons shoulder and rubbing it therapudically. He unscrewed the cap of the bottle and lightly poured some of it on Tanners exposed knee.
"K-Kay..." Tanner tightened his grip on Iah's shirt a little bit but seeing as he is a child it still was not very tight. He winced a bit but didn't cry out or start sobbing, he just sniffled a little again.

The boy seemed rather startled when Tanner held onto him, but he got over it quickly. Smiling, he ruffled the boy's hair, watching as Don returned with the water.
As the water was poured onto Tanner's scrape, and feeling his grip tighten, Iah soothingly pat his back. "It's okay - it'll feel fine after we put on the bandaid. You're being a really brave kid." He grinned brightly at Tanner.
Having been hovering over the three, Kaiyumi waited until Don was done, before digging into her pocket again, and removing a handkerchief. Leaning down, she gently pat Tanner's knee dry, before nodding. "Mmkay! Now just the bandaid!"

Tanner nodded with another little sniffle. Seeing that it was almost done and all that he had to wait for now was Kaiyumis band aid Tanner started to calm down more not tearing up much anymore just sniffling every now and then.
"Thanks again you guys, the help is really apreiciated." Don said to Iah and Kaiyumi not knowing exactly what he would have done if he were at the park alone when it had happened. He would have probably paniced, gathered Tanner up into the car and drove him home like he were driving some one to the hospital.

It took what seemed like less than a second to get the bandaid out of the package, and onto the little boy's knee. When that was done with, Kaiyumi grinned proudly, dusting off her hands. "All done!"
'He really is a lot braver than a lot of kids his age,' Iah thought to himself, with a laugh. "Good job, Tanner! Your knee will heal by itself after a few days. I used to scrape my knees a lot too, when I was younger." Along with his elbows, arms, and basically everything else. Iah always had been a fan of sports, but he wasn't always good at sports, to say the least.
"Don't mention it, Mr. Piano." The Growlithe boy had turned his attention to the man, and he grinned. Behind him, Kaiyumi nodded. "I always come prepared with bandaids," Kaiyumi chirped, "Mainly for myself, since I'm not graceful on my feet, and tend to fall a lot."

"Thank ya." Tanner said wiping the last couple tears out of his eyes and going through his last sniffle. The boy stood up tenderly testing out his knee and found that it was a little raw but fine to walk with.
Don chuckled a little bit. "Well, I guess I should probably start to keep a few bandaids with me from now on too." He was still a relatively new parent and therefor still learning, and also still a bundle of nerves when it came to his childs safety.

"Don't mention it." Rising from his crouch, Iah stretched his stiff limbs. "If you want to play again some time, we'll be more careful. Or play something on the grass."
Kai grinned, nodding. "Better safe than sorry, right?" When Kaiyumi had first recieved Iah, she was an extreemly, panicky guardian. She would stuff her bag full of bandaids a little first aid things. Now that Iah was older, and that she was more used to this whole parent thing, Kaiyumi had toned down to a resonable amount.

"Thanks again, to the both of you. But I think we should probably be getting home now, it's about time for Tanner's nap and it's been a pretty eventful day." Don said with a bit of a laugh. He stepped over to Tanner and scooped the boy up in his arms. "Kai, do you wanna exchange numbers? We should keep in touch, and if Iah doesn't mind I'm sure Tanner would like to see him again some time." He asked Kaiyumi gently rocking Tanner back and forth.

"Mm, it is getting late now, isn't it?* Kaiyumi glanced up at the sky for a moment, before looking back to Don and Tanner. Her eyes brightened a bit at his question, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Sure!" She agreed, just as Iah grinned. "Seeing Tanner again some time would be nice. He's a sweet kid."
Digging through her pockets, yet again, Kaiyumi pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper, and a pen. Wow, magic pocket. Quickly, she scribbled their home number on the paper, before holding it out to the man. "There we go!"
