That it is. There's a war raging over who Cloud should be paired with Aerith/Aeris or Tifa. Personally, I prefer him being paired with Aerith. Why? I'm not a Tifa fan. She had her chance when they were children. At the same time, I have a friend who's a die hard Cloti fan. We just don't talk about it much.
*nods head* If I see something with a pairing I hate, I don't read it, and I especially don't leave a review.

Speaking of summaries, I don't like it when people add in the following:
1. "I SUX AT SUMMARIES!" For chissake, if you cannot summarize your own damn story, then it's highly likely that you've got writing issues and big ones at that.
2. "CHAPTER 345 UP!" Now this is just an extraneous addition to your summary and a waste of space. For the most part, sites that display both original and fan fiction have the chapter number written at the bottom. Sure, it's small, but I always look at that section. So really, do you need to scream out your latest chapter addition? Probably not; people are just wasting summary spaces.
3. "STORY COMPLETE!" This only applies to fanfiction.net and fictionpress.net. The website offers the "in-progess" option as well as the "complete" option. The only time people can announce the story's progress is if they are putting it on hiatus, because ff.net and fp.net don't have that option.
Honestly... why do people state the obvious?

I completely agree, the pointlessness of it is astounding. I mean, really, if someone can't write a summary for their own story, they have some issues to work on.

If they can't write their own summary, then they probably have no idea what's going on with their fic or don't have any tangible plot/idea to it. =/ It's a cop out if you ask me. One sentence isn't much to describe the general idea of a story.
