Venti sighed, the air rushing from her lungs. Looking after Pangaia and hoping that her lands would not be too hard on their blind elder, although she really needn't be worried. She stood, as though to try and move close to the circle, but she didn't want to upset the tense balance they had been foced into, so again she sat. Taking breath in like she was beginning to speak, then exhaling it silently.

This was akward and uncomfortable for all of them, but they had to start somewhere, right? Longingly she looked past the others in the direction of her lands, but then her eyes came back down to the circle of the leaders, and the least she could do was smile, so she did.

Aelin waited until Pangaia was gone before even trying to respond to Castor. The Elder's decree did not bother her, as it took more than a moving of location to stir up her anger. Even Castor, as petty as he was being, did not truly anger her. Frustate her maybe, but she was used to his brash nature.

Sighing, she turned to face the fox in question. "Congratulations, Castor. You made yourself into even more of a fool that I thought was possible." She laughed darkly as they stood there, shaking her head at the fire leader. "You claim to be proud, yet moments earlier you had your head hung in what, pride? I think not. Contradictions will get you nowhere."

Turning away from him, Aelin faced the other two present leaders. "Do not worry so much, Venti. It will take more than your presence here to truly make me fight with Castor." She looked over to Kalevi, who had been silent for some time and nodded encouragingly before fixing her gaze on Castor again.

"I dare you to contest me here, Castor. I may be your equal and not your leader, but I won't let you jeapordize cooperations now. Like it or not, we must move on. And, as much as I don't like it, we need your cooperation as well. But don't think I won't force those flames of yours down if I have to."

Castor was watching the elder leave when Aelin started to speak to him, what a surprise. He did not face her, but at her last words one could see a ripple of agitation go down along his back to his tail which flared up just a bit. He turned to face Aelin his eyes narrowed. They were dark, now fueled with anger one could see them as nothing but two coals for eyes. His ears flared up making them look as if they were two flames rather then a set of ears and his tail was but a wild flame of rage.

"Don't.You.Dare.Tell.Me.You.Can.Douse.My.Flames." Castor's voice was filled with an intense anger. His roughly dug one paw into the ground similar to how a bull would before charging. He glanced at the other briefly to see if they would be interfering. Apparently though, it was clear they weren't going to. Also the Elder wasn't in sight. He smirked but unlike most times were is was a mocking kind of smirk this time it was cruel.

"I will not cooperate, I am the lone flame of my element. I do not need any of you, nor do you need me. So we are connected, I do not care. You all can try to work together and all that peaceful stuff but I am the uncontrollable flame! I shall live up to my element! Even if I have to be rid of annoyances like you! " Castor appeared to be ready to attack, by lowering himself into a pouncing like position, but then he remembered that others died just like this. Instead he only huffed at her and turned away from the group flaring down. his tail swishing in obvious annoyance.

"Do what you want. I just won't be part of it." As he moved away from his spot you could see scorch marks of his paws indented into the earth. Castor growled annoyed. The words of the Elder had struck him hard and he rather not have more blood on his paws..

Still, Aelin was not angry, nor frightened. "Then you condemn all, including yourself, to a life on this small slab of neutral ground," she called out, her voice, while still delicate, ringing through the clearing. "Even you will not disobey Pangaia, and until you work with us, you will not be seeing those precious volcanoes of yours."

Sighing for what felt like the hundredth time today, she glanced apologetically at Venti and Kalevi before trotting off after Castor. "Castor, no one is asking you to change who you are," she said quietly, coming to a stop several feet to his right; even if she felt no threat, she was not stupid enough to stand in his line of fire. "I'm asking you to suffer my presence, and theirs, for a few days at most. After this, you can return to your lands, and, if nothing else, go back to completely slandering my name to your heart's content. But we must try, Castor, you know this. Too many lives have been wasted already. It has to end, or all of us will face a destiny no one should ever have to imagine.

We affect the very balance of the world we live in, Flame Child. Can you pretend that our actions are not monitored to the second by a Higher Being? None are immune from their wrath, Castor, as it should be. Can you really accept going out as a killer who was too stubborn to cooperate with his own fellows and got himself killed? That, at least, must go against that deeply ingrained pride of yours."

Kalevi had to refrain himself from attacking Castor when the Fire leader said he had no regrets. Castor's people had scorched the land, killed his people...

If Castor had no regrets, then fine. Kalevi wasn't going to bother with regret, either. He would take pride in all of the fire-foxes that he and his had killed.

He wasn't about to throw his lot in with Aelin, either, though. Castor's direct opposite or not, as soon as Pangaia had left, there she was, talking down to all of them, and acting as if she were the elder of the tribe.

Kalevi watched the pair arguing, and hoped they would both do him a favor, and go kill each other.

Venti promptly stood when she had been left alone more or less with Kalevi. He was her polar opposite, and even thought they would not bicker like Castor with Aelin, she wouldn't be caught dead standing with him and no one else to tie them together. She moved to a part of the woods where they were all still visible and audible and she sat. Aelin and Castor would work their own things out, Luvia would find the lightening leader, and Pangaia would make progress. And she would sit there until she was needed.

Castor had stopped when Aelin approached him. Why would she not give up?! though he was intrigued at how persistent she was.Though that was nothing more then a small bit of admiration. Nothing more, he kept saying while he listened. At first he originally flared up ready to attack but as he listened he calmed. While he hated to admit she did have a very good point. He looked at her studying her intensely as any flame would. He approached her calmly and then just passed by her heading back to the others.

"Fine then. A truce for now...water child. I warn you though do not tell me what to do and do not get in my way. " He stopped to turn at look at her. He smirked faintly as he thought about something.

"I could say that with your persistence you could of made a good fire child." He laughed then turned to start walking back. Then he decided to add on as an after thought.

"Maybe we aren't so different after all water child" Again more laughter as he returned to the group. Though in his mind he was definitely trying to figure out everything that was said. though again he couldn't help be intrigued by Aelin's persistence to fix things. It unnerved him just slightly and this worried him greatly. He would not let this become a weakness. Looking up he saw the Guardian returning.

Luvia landed with a loud thud and looked around. Castor seemed to be coming back with Aelin further behind him, and Venti was off to the distance. Kalevi was here alone and the Elder was no where in sight. This confused Luvia greatly. It looked to Kalevi for answers.

"Where is the Elder, oh Earth leader?" He watched the earth leader for he sensed that he was agitated by some aliment. though he could not tell what it was. What was going on? First the Lightning leader was trapped by the storms. The elder is missing and it seems everyone is just very much unnerved or agitated. Though with Castor that was nothing new, but Venti was distancing herself. The usual calm earth was upset and Aelin was following Castor?! Had the world gone made while it was away. This was extremely confusing and frustrating to the poor guardian.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 11, 2007 11:41 am

Aelin snorted to herself as Castor compared her to his brethren. "The forces of water are always persistent," she quipped quietly. "The humans call it erosion."

She walked by him, taking note of Kalevi's animosity and not much caring. One of them had to step up at some point if anything was going to get done, and if he wanted to be the one to sit there and wait for something to magically happen, she wasn't going to bother with him. Closest relative to her element or not, in the wake of Castor's anger he meant little right now.

No, what mainly plagued her mind right now was Castor's conceding to her. It was unusual, for lack of a better word. Did she even see some sort of....admiration in the way he compared her to fire?

No, now Aelin was just imagining things. Castor would always hate her, and she would always be there to antagonize him just that little bit more for her own amusement. As she sat down near the others again, she kept tellling herself that Castor was probably just playing with her.

Although, so swift had the change been that she couldn't seem to help sending him furtive glances when she thought no one was looking.

No.No.No.No. She needed to focus on cooperation, not the hothead next to her. But what was there to say? Castor would be reluctant at best to cooperate, Kalevi was being resentful, and Venti was sitting on her own with her head in the clouds.

She snorted as Luvia reappeared, looking thoroughly confused. What timing he had.

"She said she was going to look at the lands, or something. And said we should talk while she was away." Kalevi tried to not snort at that.

Kalevi was perturbed by Castor's sudden change, telling Aelin that she would have made a good fire elemental, stating how the two of them were not so different.

From Kalevi, comparing someone to earth would be a compliment.

But maybe Castor did mean it as an insult, as fire and water were polar opposites.

Yet there Aelin was, following Castor.

Maybe he wouldn't luck out with the pair of them killing each other.

As long as this didn't mean they were planning to spawn anytime soon, though, they could do whatever they bloody well pleased, so long as they left him out of it.

Luvia blinked surprised. The Elder had left them ALONE!? Of all the...Why would an Elder leave these five together? More so alone?! It was suicidal! The five of them were out to kill each other and she decides to leave them alone. What insanity was this?! Luvia merely sighed shaking its dragon head. This was unbelievable, the new Elder seemed to be as insane as the rest of them.

"Well the lightning Leader is trapped by a storm for those wondering."It glanced at the group unsure. After all its not like any of them would care really. Sighing again, he took one more worried look at all of them. If the Elder left them alone it assumed she did it with good intention? The guardian was so confused. Either way it decided to go try and find the elder. Luvia decided to walk this time not with out a giving a worry look towards the group.

"I guess I leave you all alone as well. I shall go speak to the elder. I can only hope you all don't kill each other while we are gone." Sighing again and not without constantly looking back until the group was out of site Luvia left.

Castor merely huffed then shook his head. Did that guardian really think anyone would worry? The land was plagued by lightning all the time the leader would be fine, just delayed is all. He huffed and laid down on the grass when he noticed the wind child farther off.

"Hey Venti! Whats the matter? Are you too good for us?!" Castor snorted causing a few small puffs of smoke coming from his nostrils. Then he looked to Kalevi. He huffed again and continued to stare at the earth child. His tail was swishing back and forth like the way a cat's tail would when watching its prey. He smirked for a moment tilting his head.

"Whats the matter earth child? Did I touch a nerve a while back or what? I mean you look like your ready to crack!" At that Castor burst into laughter. Finding his pun extremely funny.

Kalevi was glad to hear that the lightning leader was trapped. One less of them for him to worry about. The other three were troublesome enough, without adding the final fourth in.

Kalevi rolled his eyes when the guardian flew off. The stupid thing was probably just scared to be around for when the action really started.

Which, with the way Castor was going, was probably going to be soon.

Kalevi just gave Castor a disdainful look. The fire elemental could be such a moron sometimes...

He toyed around with the idea of attacking Castor, to make him shut up, but of course there would be problems with that.

Kalevi saw the scene playing out thus: he attacks Castor. Then Aelin (being the busybody and suck up she was) would jump in to protect Castor, possibly adding some lecture about "balance" and how "we all need to work together now". Pah!

Really, it wouldn't be worth it if he got some sort of unity crap from Aelin.

What he needed was a chance to go after Castor, without the meddlesome water elemental around. With Pangaia's command of staying where they were, that wouldn't be possible, but how could she control them, if she was more concerned about the lands than her duty as an elder to lead the tribe (and force Aelin out of her "I'm-better-than-you, therefore-I'm-the-second-in-command/temporary elder" mood).

With a snort and a contemptuous flick of his tail, Kalevi turned his back on the other elementals (the ultimate insult to one's enemy) he headed back towards his own lands. He would like to see the so-called elder try to stop him!
PostPosted: Mon Nov 19, 2007 4:43 pm

Aelin smirked ot herself; Kalevi's thought process was written across his entire face. It was obvious he wanted to attack Castor, and, truthfully, she didn't much care if he did.

The Earth Elemental might see her as annoying and troublesome, but she knew enough to stay out of others' fights. Besides...some injury to Castor, a couple of burns for Kalevi...sounded like the perfect situation to her. The two males could fight to the death for all she cared, so long as her own foxes (or future foxes, as it were) didn't have to participate.

So, naturally, she was sorely disappointed when the foolhardy Kalevi merely turned tail and left. But it wasn't like she was going to stop him. If the other wanted to incure the potential wrath of Pangaia, so be it. He hadn't exactly offered much cooperation lately, and so the fool was useless to her anyways.

"You do realize your jokes are horribly...dull, Castor?" she asked in a deadpan voice. "You've even bored Kalevi, and Earth is supposed to be a patient element. Hm." She left it at that and went to settle down some distance from Castor, though she knew the other would retort in some way.

Casters flames flared when Kalevi turned on him. Oh no he would not take that. Without warning he pounced. His claws digging into the earth leaders back. His tail whipping behind him in an attempt to burn the foolish earth leader. He was growling almost in a raging manner and was acting barbaric. It wasn't until a very large force shoved him to the ground that he stopped his assault. The impact of his body meeting the ground made him lose his barely and also flare down. when he opened his eyes from the impact he saw pale white eyes looking back at him. He rolled his own. It was Pangaia who had stopped him and her paws where now digging into his shoulders to keep him down.

He expected a full lecture and chances are punishment. Yet he didn;t get instead the weight came off of him and he was able to stand. Once he did he saw the disappointment in the eyes of the Elder. It almost made him feel bad, almost but not quite. He instead opted to look down at the ground and avoid her pale eyes. Since they still gave away all her emotions even if she was blind.

Pangaia sighed shaking her head. Her hair shimmered about as she did so and raising a paw she fixed it. She looked around at the leaders and again sighed.

"Is this what you want? To continue this mindless fighting?! To end what is left of generations of pure elements. For what I ask? For dominance? For pride? For glory? Is it really worth it that much!?" Pangaia only sighed and shook her head. Moving away she made her way towards a tree to lay down and rest.

"Fine roam free though the lands. Though I warn you do not fight. I will be watching all of you..." Then Pangaia laid her head down on top of her paws and sighed as she watched them. She seemed older almost worn out. It was a strange and almost depressing to see. Oddly Luvia wasn't with her he may have been patrolling in her place.

Aelin looked over her shoulder in the direction of her own lands, but decided she didn't feel like going back at the moment. The others could fool themselves into thinking life was grand, but the disappointment radiating from Pangaia struck Aelin a hard blow.

And so the young water leader merely sat down, unsure what to do, and out of jokes for the moment.

Of course, she only stayed lost in thought for a few moments before she felt something run into the back of her leg. Alarmed, she turned her head and looked down for the source, only to find...a kit?

Lin yelped in surprise as she came into contact with a solid object. She'd become lost in this land of fire, water, earth, lightning, and air, and had resolutely pushed back her fear and headed to the center area.

Of course, she had not expected to run into a group of feuding...foxes? She could not be sure that's what they were, and so she had done her best to hide.

So distracted had she been, Lin didn't notice when the blue one sat down, and so where she expected to walk into free space, there was a very strange creature.

"S-sorry," she stuttered, looking around wildly for a means of escape; as stubborn as she could be at times, she wasn't even sure what these things were.

There was no way Kalevi was about to take the attack without acting. He swung his own tail at Castor, trying to get the fire elemental off of his back before he got burned by that damned tail of Castor's.

It seemed to have worked, as suddenly Castor's weight was no longer on his back.

Kalevi turned around, getting ready to continue the fight, when he noticed that Pangaia was there. The earth elemental kept his attention on Castor, making sure the other wasn't about to attack him again, before he would let himself wonder just how the elder had gotten back so quickly. The lands were huge, so there was no way she could have inspected them in the time she had been gone. Not unless she had some super speed, or something.

He wouldn't call the fighting senseless. His pride wouldn't allow him to work with those responsible for the death of his family, his comrades, everyone he had ever known...

For an elder, Pangaia seemed kind of stupid. He doubted she had any idea what she was asking of them.

He was about to tell her as much when suddenly something else came running onto the tribe lands. His first thought was to wonder why that mouse was green, before realizing it was a kit. That was right, that was what females looked like as kits.

"Just what the hell is she doing here?" he asked the tribe in general. He had thought that they had been reduced to only the elemental leaders. It seemed he was wrong, though, if there was a kit running around on the tribe lands.

"Been holding out on us, have you, Aelin?" That was the logical assumption, if the kit went to the water elemental.

"All these speeches about unity and working together. I understand it now. You preach, and hope we'll bow to you that way. But if that doesn't work...Well, how many others are you hiding in your lands, Aelin? Enough to make the rest of us with nothing do whatever you command, I expect!"

He spat the word 'nothing' as if it were a curse. It was, really. Here the rest of them were, with no family, no comrades, nothing, and there she was, still with foxes to listen to her and help her.

"Or have you others been holding out, too? I shouldn't be surprised. Hide a few kits here and there, and next thing you know, you have an army, more than enough to end this fight once and for all, and make sure that you're the winners of it.

"I've had enough of this, and all of you!" With that Kalevi turned and ran. It would be hard, trying to defend himself and his lands if the others weren't as helpless as he had thought. Still, he could try. He had to try. That was the determination that was earth. Never giving up until the end. Being stubborn enough to keep on going, even when it looked impossible.
