Darkfeather paused... at first trying to grasp the meaning of her single word. Promise? Promise what? It soon hit him after some moments of thought... and he was somewhat surprised... although he shouldn't be he realized. She'd been hurt once before.. and he'd seen this sort of thing before.. with Nikki.. sort of.
Eventually he nodded, "I promise" he said softly. He wasn't that type of guy... to just go off and leave with someone else at a whim.. his instincts were to be loyal.. and loyal he was. Perhaps he was a bit too loyal and protective sometimes. It just goes to prove.. that kindness can go a long way... and it had with him.

She waited patiently for his reply, whatever it may be. She just wanted an honest answer. And at the same time she felt like she was holding her breath. But his answer finally did come, and with it, she nodded. That sited her just fine. Whatever terms it may fall under, be it friendship or more.
"Thanks." She turned her form with a hop, feeling calm once more. No need to interigate any further, she trusted him enough. "So then, where to first?" There was much distance from here to where she was heading. That'd be enough time to talk and what not.

Huh... well that was interesting. Darkfeather got to his paws as she hopped away and asked him where to first. "Doesn't matter to me.. I'm sure you know the best way on foot. After all... his usual method would be through flight.. but Setsumi can't fly.. well that kinda rules that out.
He contented himself with following her, trusting that she knew the way. Everything always looked different on the ground than from the air. It also left him to his thoughts.. wondering what Setsumi was thinking.

"If you insist." She didn't know if he had anything to retreive or see first before they left the jungle. Her pace slowed next to the river, glancing at her reflection and waiting for the other to catch up beside her. This was all very...peculiar for her. To get over one she had thought was her mate, then realize her quiet friend was displaying such emotions toward her. But what did she want to do? That one corner of her mind still withheld her from changing. Like a stubborn thorn of doubt.
So she continued quietly, leaving Darkfeather to speak or not however he wished it. A smirk was tossed to him though, teasing in how he had known the why's behind her odd moods. And his own scent was nice too.....
Setsumi shook her head, continuing the walk.

Well.. that was all for Setsumi to figure out. Darkfeather had made his move... or atleast the start of one.. and it was up to her to decide where to go from there. If she didn't wish it... he would keep his distance. He wouldn't force himself upon her or anything.
The smirk from Setsumi was noticed, and Darkfeather threw one right back at her. A brow lifting as she shook her head. What was she thinking about, he wondered. "The world does look a lot different from the air than on the ground" he remarked. "I could carry you, although probably not all the way there."

What was that? Setsumi turned to glance at him, seeing that both his voice and face were serious. See the world from the air...how often was that chance? "That would be nice, best view I can get is from the rooftops." She gave Darkfeather a skeptical glance. "You sure now? I might be too heavy, and I don't want the risk of dropping."
But she had stopped walking, showing that she was indeed interested in this opportunity. Her tails almost shook with nervousness.

Darkfeather chuckled, "If your too heavy, I'll put you down. I promise I won't drop you." But he was a bit bigger and stronger since the first time they'd met... he was confident that he could carry her atleast for awhile. Considering she had feathers.. it almost seemed a crime that she couldn't fly herself. He could tell that she was interested.. but nervous... thus he waited for her decision.

Too heavy. .__. Her ears had lowered, and she gave a pout to that word. That had seemed the case last time, when he helped her off the roof, but just barely. But it is what she had asked, and he replied. Besides, his body build seemed stronger now than it was back then.
With a nod, she stepped closer, not too sure what to do. He was the pilot afterall. So she rubbed her own nose on his neck softly. "Okay. I'm ready." A double meaning, with a n** to his neck playfully. She just hope she wasn't embarrasing herself, or that he had already locked her out.

Oy... it wasn't like he was saying she was fat or anything. He had to mentally roll his eyes, wondering why females were always so sensitive about their weight.
Brows lifted and Darkfeather smirked at the double meaning in Setsumi's words and at the playful n**. "Are you sure?" he asked back, moving behind Setsumi and then wrapping his forepaws around her torso. A playful growl and returned n** given to her neck as well.
Then the crested kitsu spread his wings, giving a few flaps before carrying them both into the air. His forepaws held onto Setsumi securely as they rose higher and soon above the treeline. A quick glance about and he kenw which direction to go. The pair of them flying over the jungle and soon over the field and back towards the desert.

Of course females concerned over such things, just as males concerned over others. She just wouldn't go over that list, it'd take too long.
Setsumi allowed a laugh at Darkfeather. It was nice, she admitted, to enjoy her freedom now. Flirting with it as she pleased, so long as she kept smart about it. And Darkfeather seemed to be a pleasant candidate, now that he was showing some color to his character. Enough to make her flush, that is.
Placing her own paws ontop his striped ones, she curled herself in tensely when their paws left the ground. Even the trees soon were under them, and Setsumi took in the sight with awe. "You're so lucky to have wings, to see all this whenever you please."

That's true... but do males ever understand females? Rarely, if ever. "I suppose I am... I would have not been happy if I'd come to this world without wings." It would have been even harder for him to adjust. "I'm surprised... I thought you would be more nervous." After all... most are when they're flying for the first time, but Setsumi seemed rather calm.
The crested Kitsusagi's wings beat steadily to keep them aloft, although having to work harder to hold the weight of two. The updrafts did help, as he let himself ride them once they got to a good height. The land spreading out before them, and everything looking miniscule.

Seemed somethings just continued down one's lives. Darkfeather really did get lucky then, at least able to keep his wings. Setsumi flicked her ears back, a nervous grin her answer. "Oh trust me, I'm nervous!" Her paws were already clutching tightly, and her three tails stiff. It was hard enough being extra weight, let alone a fidgety one. So she was trying her best to stay still.
"Don't you dare push yourself. If you get tired, then land." No risky business this high up. She peeked back down, surprised how different everything looked. Like a whole new land she wasn't allowed to see.

Feeling her clutch at his paws tightly, he tightened them around her a bit more to make her feel more secure. "I won't... I'm going to protect you remember? Just trust me." He couldn't help but smirk in amusement though, also tilting his gaze towards the ground from time to time. Remembering when as a Pidgeot, he would fly his trainer around on his back as well.
"This is why I was going to let you lead on the ground. I don't know the terrain nearly as well when not in the air." It truely looked like a different world... being to high up. But also.. this was a faster way of travel.

She had to pause at his words, just absorbing them. It brought her some sense of grounding, insteady of feeling flung in the air alone. "I trust you." Despite her clinging, she did. She moved her blue hair from her face, continuing to explore the sight below.
"I don't blame you, all details are lost to me." The only thing she could relate from this height were the beach and border stretch of the desert and dark lands. And look how much land was already covered! "You're not tired are you?"

Truthfully.. Darkfeather's eyesight was very sharp, and he could see all sorts of details from up there. Still.. it was a totally different vantage point. "Not yet" he assured her with an amused tone in his voice. Hadn't she just agreed to trust him?
"But.. if you know of any good places where I can take a break, I'm open for suggestions." He planned to land before he truely got tired. There was no point in over exerting himself early on.
