Aware of the mayhem that befell the night around him, Ami continued to slowly make his way though the streets in pursuit of his charge. He could easily sense Megumi not too far away, along with a number of others out beyond curfew. One of such lay not too far away.
Ami came to a stop besides Ryoga's limp body. The young vampire's long hair splayed around his face like a pool of water, eerily beautiful in the soft moonlight. The metalic tang of fresh blood rose from his unconscious form.
Kneeling beside him, Ami quickly considered his options. The man was obviously of the military, probably high ranking by the feel of his strong aura. Megumi was still young and vulnerable; she could use a good ally such as the vampire. The fallen angel closed his eyes with a resigned sigh. The things he did for his wards.
A swift slash across his wrist opened a small vessel. Ami carefully pressed the pulsing wound against Ryoga's mouth. With luck the blood of a powerful angel such as himself would quickly revive the vampire.

Ryoga gained some conciousness as the blood trickled down his throat. "Its so delicious." He thought as he opened his eyes and bit into the man's arm. He bagan to suck out the blood as his arm healed. He quickly stopped as the wound finished healing and stood up. "Sorry, but I needed the blood." He calmed down a bit and smiled "Thank you for the blood though." He said as he bowed. "My name is Captain Ryoga Haruishino."

Ami drew himself into a standing position, noting he and Ryoga stood at about the same height. "Name's Ami." He said casually, wiping his arm on the leg of his pants to rid it of the last traces of blood.
"So, Captain," he continued, now locking his poison green eyes with Ryoga's own greyish blue, "I'd say you owe me something of a favor."

"And what kind of favor do you expect from me?" He asked annoyed, for him the common people would usually have to help him without expecting a favor in return. "But to let you know, I won't do anything I find the slightest bit demeaning or below me." He stared into Ami's poisonous green eyes.

Ami smirked. "That was angel blood, Captain. Fallen, yes, but angel none the less. When given freely it forms a powerful bond- my life force for your undead soul." He paused, reaching for his pack of cigarettes. "Do you understand the gravity of this situation now?" He asked lightly, and placed a cig between his lips, lighting it with an old fashioned silver lighter.

Ryoga glared at the man. "Actually I have no idea. Why don't you fill me in, or tell me the favor." He said still aggravated as he pulled out his rifle and held it at his side. "Do you understand what I could do to you if I felt like it?" He said smirking.

"You children of Refh." Ami shook his head with amusement, completely unfazed by Ryoga's threat. "You hold nothing of the honor long past since the days of Ragnarok." He exhaled smoke and shifted to cross his arms. "At any rate, I didn't save you because I myself need or want anything from your kind. I saved you for my ward's sake. It's really to her you owe the favor, not me."

"What am I supposed to do for her?" He asked more politely, now knowing it was for a lady. "I will gladly do anything that a girl needs help with." He said as he put his rifle back where it belonged. "And why do you insult my race?" He asked pulling out his knife. "You have no right to speak of my people that way, as i don't for yours."

((Sorry for running off, college got me in its claws))
Megumi watched the whole scene between Ami and Ryoga from a nearby tree. She had run into the forest, knowing Ami would have to follow her if he really was a guardian angel. When she had heard some distant cries, Megumi had climbed up one the trees and crouched about them as she spotted Ami and followed him.
As the scene unfolded, Megumi couldn't bear her curiosity anymore and jumped out of the tree. "Hello! What's going on here?" she asked brightly.

Ryoga reacted the same way he always did, by pulling out his rifle and aiming it at the girl. "Sorry, habit." He said as he put the gun away. "I'm going to take a guess and say you are the ward that Ami has been talking about." He said as he looked at the beautiful young women.

Only Ami's instinct kept him from immediately ripping out Ryoga's windpipe when the vampire dared raise arms against his ward. Instead, he took a last desperate drag off the cigarette and then crushed it under foot, but only because Megumi was there.
"Sunshine, this is Captain Haruishino. Captain- Sunshine." Ami said, gesturing towards one and then the other in introduction. "As you undoubtedly watched, I took it upon myself to secure the loyalty of this vampire for you, so you best be grateful." He added to Megumi with a grin.

"Meh, I guess so." Megumi reluctantly admitted. She was sure Ami knew she wasn't all human, but she had no intention of betraying her secret descent in front of a vampire.
"But whatever," Megumi sighed, looking at Ryoga. "Captain Haruishino, pleased to meet you. My name is Megumi Nanasawa, but Sunshine's fine too." Megumi smiled as she properly introduced herself to the vampire.
Then she looked at Ami again. "So now what, he's now our ally or something?"

"Its more of an agreement we made. Though seeing as how I was protecting this place from Renegade attacks I shouldn't have to." He said. "But seeing as I would be dead right now if it wasn't for him, I'll protect you for awhile." He looked at Ami. "I will only stay as long as I can, if I get ordered to leave, I'm gone."
