And Blossom, how many plains was that ability again? blaugh

It was seven. And yes, I purposely made it that big. The guy I based the card on is really just a giant weenie himself. I almost called the card Weenie of All Weenies (with a picture of a hotdog on it).

Speaking of hot dogs, I have a yummy recipe:

Poor Man's Jambalaya

Ingredients:

1/2-3/4 cups instant rice

1-2 hot dogs, thawed

Frank's Red Hot Sauce

Gaaaaaaaaaaahlic/Bam Ingredients (Optional)

Salt

1. Pour rice into a bowl.
2. Cut the hot dogs into thin coin-shaped discs. Cut the discs into quarters. Dump the hot dog pieces into the bowl.
3. Add a little more water than you added rice, so that some can soak into the hot dogs (ex: 3/4 cup water for 2/3 cup rice).
4. Unscrew the top off the Frank's and pour a generous amount into the bowl (a "once around the bowl" circular seems to be about right.) Add gaaaaaaaaahlic/bam ingredients if you have them.
5. Sprinkle some salt on top (don't overdo it--remember both the hot dogs and the Franks are contributing salt!)
6. Stick in the microwave for ~5 minutes.
7. Stir. The water should ideally be a little under the top of the rice. If not, adjust cooking time as needed next time.
8. When the water's gone, eat.

Brilliant. Why have I not thought of this. This post does compel me to bump the recipe thread. Maybe I'll post one of my recipes in there. Then again, it is appropriate for this thread because it makes me think of an interesting parallel between Magic players and cooks.

Spike, Gourmet food. Spike likes to stick to tried methods and cares a lot about the presentation as well as the overall quality of the meals he cooks.

Johnny. Combo chef, Johnny loves coming up with new ways to make different flavors interact, different cooking methods and wacky dishes.

Timmy, Power cooker: FOOD! Timmy doesn't care about anything fancy. the budget gourmet is good enough for him as long as it's food, it tastes good, and there's plenty of it.

I must be a Timmy/Johnny when it comes to cooking, then.

I KNEW IT!

my guess would be

BB: Johnny 50%

Timmy 20%

Spike 30%

something like that

Mooby

Spike 1%

Timmy 50%

Johnny 49%
PostPosted: Thu Sep 06, 2007 5:36 pm

Spike 1%? Dude, I don't eat garbage...
I'd say I run Timmy 35%, Johnny 35%, Spike 30%. Who doesn't enjoy a quality meal?

Anyways, getting back to Magic:

This next card combines elements of Time Warp, Time Stop, and Mindslaver for quite an interesting effect.

On top of that, Spike would probably not use it on account of it makes blue actually look creative.

Plus also it makes mention of an "advanced rule." Sure, I can see why Wizards would want to KISS in the core sets, but a player using "Expert" sets should learn the advanced rules. I don't think that's expecting too much--people don't seem to have too much trouble with Magic Online. I personally think that Wizards shouldn't be afraid to let the word "priority" show up on a card or two; it'd probably reinforce the rules a lot better (how many players have we all seen still trying to use Pre-Sixth rules, even though they started playing well after Sixth?)

Oh, yeah, and it has a Mel Brooks reference.

So that's 4 reasons why this card is cool.

And here's a card that's just calling for a Johnny somewhere to make it not suck:

---|So, these cards you make, can you actually incorporate them into your deck when you play?|---

You CAN export the cards into various online Magic game emulators, and attempt to play with them.

However, only official cards are technically allowed in the game, and they're definitely not allowed in any type of a tournament setting.

So, they're for amusement only, unless you find a friend who is willing to let the rules slide.
