SenorDiablo yes but, the princess always gets saved by the knight in shining armor...and the son of god always gets nailed to some wood and dies a horrnedously painful death....and everyone lives happily ever after! hmmm im gonna start a religion based on Shreck being the lord savior.... what the ******** am i talking about????? oooo boobies!Thats a bit gaaaay.

While that's true... you can really start a religion around anything and there's always people stupid enough to believe it.
So... does that mean that Jesus isn't coming by on his asteroid spaceship to bring all his saved children to live through Earth's armageddon on Mars? cry

Um.. Buddhists don't believe in any god. They follow the teachings of the enlightened one, Buddha. SenorDiablo has anyone ever thought about converting? i was thinking about converting to Judiasm....but after i learned about it i just kinda gave up completely lol... any one else seriously look into other religions? If you feel you want to find a faith that best suits you, I'd suggest taking a religious study course. Most community colleges offer them. That's how I discovered Buddhism. Although I'm loosely Buddhist and agnostic. I'm still sort of searching, I guess. I'm not really sure what I believe in.

You do know you can believe in and make your own religion. It's not like you have to follow any of the current ones. My religion happens to be a hybrid of Buddhism teachings and my own personal beliefs.

Bleh, combining stuff is understandable, but I still just hate the written stuff. I'm not going to follow a bunch of laws as to how I should read my life. I have one shot at life and I'm going to do what I want with it, not use an old book for guidelines... bleh.
I belive in something, but we were created with free will, why wouldn't we be wanted to use it to the fullest?

I suddenly just realised something. You know it says [optional discussion] in the title of this thread? Isn't that true of all threads anywhere?
And now to say something religious...
I'm not religious, but I hate people that say they're "like totally against all religion, god's a bunch of lies blah blah blah" just to look cool. I mean what is the point? Even if God is a bunch of lies the idea of God is still needed in society because of the joy/comfort/excuses for war its given people throughout time. Bashing God is not cool. If you don't believe in God, thats fine, but it doesn't make you any cooler than the Pope.
Because no one is cooler than the Pope.

People get angry about people spreading the gospel and forcing their beliefs on to other people, but when other people trash talk someone else's beliefs and say it's not real, etc, they're doing the same exact thing. They're forcing their beliefs onto them. The way I always saw it was, if you feel your religion makes you a better person, or somehow gives you the hope to live through another day, then all the more power to you. Just so long as you respect my beliefs, everything's kosher.

I believe in God, I mean the theory of evolution can only support so much. When people use God as an excuse for s**t they start, that's really what pisses me off.
...yeah, that and power Christians. Augh. mad
confused You can believe in something and talk about your faith without pushing it on others... though Christies don't think so. I mean, look at the Jews. They're a prime example. They don't even allow statues of any kind.
