HaloMaster9494 well, on second thought, there are way too many FPS games out there.....and way too many of them use either zombies, aliens, or nazis. note to the developers: I think people are starting to get a little tired of fighting the same enemies with the same gameplay formula with the same weapon set with the same storyline. Yeah, that's what I said before this thread was even made. everyone else said, "Oh Yeah! Crimson, you're so right!" Except they didn't. Instead they said, "There are too many FPS's" "Yeah you're right" "Wasn't there a guy that said this first and made me think of it?" "No. But if there was, I bet he was a loser with stupid hair" Yeah, Bastards.

It doesn't take a genius to walk into a game store, look on the shelf and think "Hmm... this is a FPs game.... hoshit! so it this, this, this, this, and that!! OMG!"
Thank god you're a member of our guild. We're too stupid to function without the greatness that is teh crimson.

Eh, it's all preference, like everything in gaming. I don't think any genre is really being abused.

Waynebrizzle Eh, it's all preference, like everything in gaming. I don't think any genre is really being abused. It will if the majority like a particular genre. Developers make what sells. If they see more people like [insert genre here] then they will make more of those than other genres. It is a business. Why do you see many high-profile games being of the same genre? Look at E3's of this year and in the past. Do you ever see them have way more of one genre than another? Do you notice if the big games of the year are of the same genre or not? It's preference of course but it's also supply in demand. If they notice though surveys or whatever that [insert console here] are/is the most popular and most played game genre at that time what do you think developers will concentrate on more? Genre's that are really popular or genre's that don't have much market? Look at new games coming out/are out and you tell me.

Of course, there is a rather large chunk of consumers out there that ONLY buy FPS games. So like Mr. Wak said, there is a reason why we have so many of them. And it's "supply and demand", by the way. mrgreen
