"It's okay, honestly." Helaku nodded, pawing some of the crunchy leaves away. Some dry grass came away as well...it seemed like the whole of the Soquili lands were suffering from the hot summer. "It does feel much better, I have to admit. I wish there was something that could be done about this dryness, but unfortunately only the gods can take care of that."

"The land has been rather dry as of late... But the seasons are changing quite quickly. Soon it'll be Fall and then Winter. The earth with have plenty of water in no time." Amara noted the slight cold n** that she felt whenever night had fallen. Had time really passed that quickly since she and her father returned? The past seemed like such a hazy thing right now...

"Yes...in that you are correct, Amara. The cycle of the seasons is one of the few unchanging things in this world." The tall grey stallion's mouth twisted slightly in a rueful expression and his golden eyes crinkled slightly at the corners. "One could only wish that more things lasted for even a fraction of that time. But even the most solid foundations may crumble..." He sighed softly as his voice trailed off.

"Solid foundations do crumble from time to time, but the earth always has a way of coming back together," Amara replied lightly. "Whether it be a fire, flood or some other disaster there is always green life again on those damaged lands if given the time to let them heal." The dark colored mare tilted her head a little with a soft smile. A cool breeze blew in her mane as if to remind her that the cold was coming soon.

Helaku just nodded quietly, then glanced up at a lowering sun. "It's getting late...I know these woods, but we wouldn't want anyone lost." There was almost, just almost, a hint of humor in his voice. It was still a little too soon for much gaiety, though. "Sure you can find you way back once you're out?"

A playful chuckle escaped the mare, glad that the stallion had regain some sense of humor. "I assure you sir that I am a very capable mare. I should be able to find my way out of these woods. I didn't go traveling for so long for nothing now." The dark mare lightly bowed her head at Helaku and turned to go home. "Well then Helaku, I'll see you later then." The mare began to walk off into the darkening horizon, only her deep red stripes were any indication of her location.

Helaku kept an eye out until he could no longer see Amara, despite her assurance. He still might not be thinking too fondly towards most females, but this was one of the first civil conversations since...the ending.
