I got myself entered into a tournament last saturday somehow O.o so i decided to go with a gondor force. anyone care to give me some tips on what to pick

Well it does very much depends what you're going against.

Do you know?
And is there a point limit?
Are there any other limits? Such as no magic etc?

500pts and Rohan, Elves and mordor

Hm.
Personally I'd just say get plenty of basic Warriors, with plenty of bows in there.
You could get a few knights in if you can afford it.

If you can take Rohan riders down at a distance, that would be good.
And charge Mordor orc hordes with Knights. Knock down and such. Then finish the knocked orcs off with troops.

i was going for that but i was gonna use rangers over basic warriors with bows. lower defense better fight and shot levels

The Tournament starts this week. I should have my 1st match on Saturday

hey everyone,

i recently started lotr. all i have is sauron and the 9 ringwrathes... I want to add to the army but i dont know what would go good with what i have... (ive never seen the movies. i just liked the wrathes so i bought them.) Please Help Me Spend Lots Of Money!

Moria goblins suck a**.

That's why you throw 300 goblins at them. If that fails, throw a balrog at them.

And archers, I dunno. I never really found archers all that much use personally.

wow, then i don't know what you have been playing. I equip all of my uruk-hai with crossbows or my gondor's with bows (in a 500pt army for both) and tend to pump out around 40 shots a turn. The Uruk Crossbows own, with a strength 4 hit and 4and up to hit your target. It has a 5 or 6 on a defense 6 model. now that is real firepower.

I would go Gondor or Isengard all they way. I have compared stats, and those two tend to always be at the top. Here is my 500pt force for Gondor:
48 Gondor Soldiers
46 Bows (For every unit except banner carriers)
48 Shields
2 Banners
Peregrin Took
Meriadoc Brandybuck

Total 500pts exactly. I use the two hobbits as cheap heroes for the banners. This army rocks.

As for Isengard:
27 Uruk-Hai
27 Crossbows
27 Pikes
27 Shields
Banner
Uruk-Hai Captain

This leaves you at 400ish points which leaves you for some room for some other troops, items for the captain, or losing some troops for an isengard troll or another foul hero.
The crossbows are your best friend if you position your troops right to see the enemy, then whittle them down one by one...
