Kyou nodded and led the angel out of the secluded courtyard and through the well maintained herb garden he had been working in less than an hour previously. The monks kept an extensive collection plants for cooking and for making various medicines and potions. from there the pair left unseen past the Abbey walls, it's lofty spires and belltowers, halls and catacombs, until they were finally outside in the brilliant sunshine, the salted air drifting up towards them from the sea. For the first time in maybe his entire life, Kyou felt....freedom? The breath of life and a quiet optimism at nothing in particular. Maybe it was the angel's gentle nature that moved him so. So sad and yet so full of hope. And as they reached the ocean, Kyou wished he had go there sooner. It was cool and peaceful, and far more holy than the building he had once called home.

Kyou nodded his head in agreement "Yes it's beautiful. I'm surprised that we're the only ones here." he said. "But surely you have seen much nicer places than this." he mused, what heaven might be like, or if it even existed at all.

"Well what would you like to know about me, Sereph." he said in a mock business-like voice, but he honestly didn't know where to begin.

Kyou looked up at the angel thoughtfully. With a sudden realisation that his eyes were becoming cloudy with tears, he quickly looked away again.

"I've always been alone." he said "And it always hurt, deep down. But since I've seen what I was missing, it feels even worse now that it's gone again. I don't know if I regret anything. I mean when I found out about Hyde it hurt more than anything, so much that when I cut my horns off it felt better by comparison. But at the time when I was in love with him, I was the happiest I've ever been. So no, I don't have any regrets." he paused, a rogue tear escaping and trickling down his face.
"Since then I've just been hiding myself. I just don't know what's going to happen if I make myself think about it."

Kyou was crying openly now. It felt different than all the other time, he did not feel the heavyness in his mind nor the irritation behind his eyes. The teardrops fell but it did not feel like they had come from his eyes.
"They wouldn't have known because I never told them, not until the very end. And then Dr Miyagi told everyone on my behalf so I didn't get the chance to say anything." the soft sands beneath his feet felt cold and unstable "You're right. I don't want to be alone, not any more."

The feeling of being surrounded by feathers felt like some sort of dream, beautiful yet painful in its sadness. The angel's scent was intoxicating, like something from his childhood that he had forgotten and couldn't place. Like the call of an elusive home he had never seen. Sereph's hand was warm as it rested upon his own, and the warmth seemed to spread throughout his whole being, not just his body but it seemed to touch the young Fae's soul.

"You mean you'll stay with me?" he said with a slight shiver, the angel's presence was a little overwheling. "I feel like I know you more than I do. I don't want you to leave."

Kyou leaned into the embrace tentatively, Sereph's body, his arms and wings were even more comforting than his hands had been, and he could feel the warmth radiating from him through Kyou's clothes and heavy coat. The seelie had taken to wearing black in the past month, it looked like he was mourning for someone, but n one had died. Maybe he was mourning for himself.
That sounded about right. After being emotionally dead for so many weeks, it was a shock to able to feel something again, and it wasn't the horrible pain he thought he would first encounter.
For a few precious moments as his head touched the angel's shoulder, he did not think of his troubles. Of the mother he had never met but so closely resembled, the father who had shuned him, the Order who kept him locked away for so long and the lover who had betrayed his trust. Few a little while there was only silence.
