As for my town, I have no clue what places are haunted. Nothing really has happened for anything to occur like that. One of my friend's mom's is a paranormal investigator. But in Akron, the city outside of my hometown, there are a ton of spooky places. There is an old theature called the Civic that's haunted, a mansion called the Hower House that is too. Both of these place I've been in, but I had no clue they were haunted until I was listening to people on the radio discussing the matter.

My school is no doubt one of the most haunted places in the state.
There's reason for it to be too: it was built over 100 years ago, suicides on campus, supposedly the mountain it's built on could be an ancient "sacred" site...
Where the drama building is there is a boy who died way before the school was built. His mother would lock him in a cage in that area and I think he starved to death or something.
In the lower-campus one of the buildings is haunted by the ghost of a student who killed himself by jumping from the roof. Supposedly his girlfriend had been cheating on him.
We also have a "heritage" center where a lot of the belongings of the founder of our school are kept to be displayed. Apparently one of my friends brought a video camera in to film, and the tape kept popping out and the battery started to die. When he walked outside the camera's battery went back up and it was back to normal.
There's also a story of a girl who died in the medical building. The boy's dormitory is supposedly haunted by the ghost of an ancient warrior. One of the girl's dorms has the ghost of a toddler who was the child of a dorm advisor (the poor kid died from a really bad cold sad ).
In the intermediate dorms some of the more "sensitive" students feel like they're being watched... Our libraries also have tons of sacred/historical texts, some dating back to before the school was built.
Needless to say, I get mixed feelings when I'm there at night. Part of me is scared like crazy, but the other part wants to get some evidence of hauntings on film.

We have a few places that are reported to be haunted: a cemetery, a resort, the beach beside the resort and the provincial park connected to it, and the old smallpox clinic, just to name a few. That's not counting the number of individual hauntings, people who feel that their homes are haunted or have experienced something otherworldly. That's not taking into account neighboring communities. The cemetery is just outside of the main part of town, and is the final resting place of a circus clown (I think he may have been a part of the Ringling Brothers or other similarly famous circus). His spirit is a frequently sighted one, but the most disturbing incidents involve the doll on his grave. There's a glass case with a clown doll in it, which has been reported to turn its head to watch people pass. The resort has two tragedies connected with it, and as a result has a few different ghosts. One in the White Lady, a former nurse who threw herself off the cliff and into the Atlantic where the resort now stands. Then you have the children, a brother and sister who drowned on the ground of the resort in a stream or pond. They lived near by with their family, where the provincial park is now located. They are sighted in both places, and are occasionally spotted on the beach at twilight. To see the White Lady is a sign that you will soon be hospitalized; to see or her her crying is a sign of death. The beach itself is said to be the site of a native massacre; a tribe was forced out into the riptide and drowned just off the point. There used to be a shack on the beach that people swore you could find a bloody tamahawk (sp?) embedded in the wall if you went in at night. The smallpox clinic is just ruins, but people claims to have seen and heard things there. We also have ghost ships (since we're right on the ocean), and I think a phantom piper or two since the town was founded by Scottish immigrants. The most famous haunting in the region is in Caledonia Mills, nicknamed the Mary Ellen Spook Farm.

Well I like in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. In Napier there is an abandoned hospital and according to people who have been up there it is haunted by the ghosts of the people who died there. Across from the Hospital there is a 17th-18th century graveyard, a lot of weird things have been reported there. Figures and such walking thought it. Those are the only two I can think of at the moment. I will look up my town's history and talk to the paranormal team here.

The only place I know of is actually near where I live, on the train tracks that run through Church St. in this city. Apparently, in the early 1900's, a young girl was hit by a train (suicide?) and her ghost has been seen walking along the train tracks, and then disappearing.
I'm going over there with a camera and a digital recorder one of these days. biggrin

Well where i live in Idaho theres a few places.
Fort Boise Cemetary-Its a cemetary so there's said to be a lot of spirits hanging out there
The Old Idaho State Penitentiary-Again not really a surprise its said to be haunted by many of the inmates the prison isnt used any longer its a museum now. There were quite a few riots there. Went there on a field trip i wish i could forget the opressing feeling and the feeling of being watched and that was during the day dont want to know what the guards feel at night.
Boise State University Communications building-Went here too didnt like it dont ever want to go back. Cold spots, feelings of being watched, foot steps, other weird things. Its supposedly haunted by a woman named "Dinah"(not sure if thats her real name nobody knows for sure) but she likes to mess with the men who visit the building. She also laughes, messes with lights and moves things.
There's tons of places but those are the 3 i've heard the most about.

In my town, there's quite a few places.
The first place is, Virginia Tech where the Tech Massacre happened. After about a year of being closed down, they finally opened it back up to the public. And rumors just FLEW around about it being haunted by the killer and the students who got shot. And well, being interested, I quickly gathered up a team of ghost hunters and we checked it out. Granted we had to during the day time, but we still got some interesting stuff. I don't have any of it sadly, my friend does.. And we're not talking right now :/ anyways.
Second Place is, our Lyric Theatre. It's said, that a lady was up on the top balcony, and was either pushed over or fell over. Anyways, she's said to haunt that place. I've yet to check it out though. ):
Third Place is, the old Christiansburg High School. Many of you have probably heard about the Three Black Sisters. Well, that's where they haunt according to all the stories and experiences. I'd tell you about them, but the story is freaking long. If you're really interested. Then just look up The Three Black Sisters in Christiansburg, VA.
That's all I can think of right now ._.

Simsboro, Louisiana has nothing. sad The cemetery is SAID to have ghosts and such, but I think that's the same anywhere.
And there's also the generic, "haunted house by the school."

Well here in Smyrna I actually live near by it. Its and old haunted farm house. Long ago, a doctor and his wife lived in the farmhouse. Tragically the wife fell ill and her husband vowed to take care of her. The woman died, however. Devastated, the doctor hanged himself. It is said that on some nights one may see a man in a white laboratory coat walking around the grounds of the farm. there's also one about Percy priest lake which does enter into Smyrna. Its called the body farm and for a good reason. In the early 60's, the Corp of Engineers began acquiring land for Percy Priest Lake. Homes, farms, even one entire town were reclaimed to build the lake. This meant relocating families, including many family cemeteries. While most folks were eager to cooperate, one family was not particularly happy about the government taking their land... the Morelands. Uriah Moreland's family had owned the modest, five-hundred acre farm since the late 1860's. With the help of his wife, Abby, their five children and a few farm hands, the farm was successful, producing corn, tobacco as well as cattle. Uriah's interests though... were not totally farm-related. A curious man, he had a passion for the darker side of life. His photography chronicled this passion. Tales of Uriah's dabbling in the dark arts, combined with his fierce temper were chilling... torturing farm workers... mutilating them... some claim killing them... if his orders were not followed. The farm hands nicknamed the place "The Body Farm".With Abby, he conducted crude seances, resulting in the awakening of all sorts of evil spirits. They would gather with their children by moonlight in the woods, chanting inexplainable incantations. Sometimes screams of terror were heard by the farm hands during some of those gatherings. The next day, the wooded area where they were seen would be bloody, and bits of what appeared to be flesh and hair could be found. This same blood would also be found marking the family graves with ritualistic symbols. After more than one farm worker 'vanished', and countless others experienced the temper of Uriah, the farm help left...only the Morelands themselves remained. The farm deteriorated, and when time came for the Corp of Engineers to take the farm, they found Abby, and the children brutally slain in the old farmhouse. The former farm hands figured Uriah had gone mad with anger over his farm being taken and the evil within his soul took matters into its own hand, destroying not only his farm but his family as well. As for Uriah... he was never found. The land was condemned, the family graves moved, and today most of the farm lies under the cold waters of Percy Priest Lake. What remains visible is the high ground where the Moreland house still stands, and the adjacent woods. Many inexplainable stories of horror and sightings of apparations have been reported in those woods and near the house where the Morelands once lived-and died. Strangely, Uriah's horrific photos of what went on have been recently discovered at the Moreland House. A mysterious -- some would say possessed -- landowner ruled with an iron fist over this 500 acre family plot, where the spirits of the many farm workers, sharecroppers and complete strangers, tortured to death in the macabre chambers in his house, barns and nearby woods... refuse to rest. In the 1960s, the Corp of Engineers tried to drown it out of existence. Uriah wouldn't let them. Photopraphy oddly comes to life. Today, while much of the land lies 12 feet under the choppy waters of Piercy Priest Lake, there still remains the home, the forgotten woods, the graves and the ghosts.... as for Uriah... no one knows. Finally theres more about the Samuel Davis home. This one you can read from a site. I actually live in this city I'm mentioning and I like it. Its filled with paranormal activity.

I live in a small town in Canada, and while there are many haunted places to speak of in the province itself, many in near by towns, the one in the town I live right now involves my particularly favorite place to roam around.
We have a small walking park called 'French Fort Cove', haunted by a being since some time in the mid-eighteenth century known as the Headless Nun. Her name was/is Sister Marie Inconnu, as a favored well trusted member of the small community she was entrusted with the secret of where the communities valuables were hidden away. It was not a peaceful time and they were using the cove as a battery against British forces...
It was common knowledge that the good sister knew where the valuables were buried, the only other two who knew (two housewives) were said to have died soon after of scurvy. One night after Sister Marie was returning from a local Mi'kmaq tribe where a woman had a particularly rough time with child birth, she was ambushed by two men (some re-tellings of the story mention they were mad with leprosy, others said they were just thieves in general) who tried to force her to divulge the whereabouts of the valuables. When she would not, one man flew into a rage and severed her head from her body with his sword and threw it into the river, leaving her body to rot on the bridge.
While her body was recovered and said to have been returned to France (though some stories suggest it never made it there due to some reason or other) her head was never found. So now, it is said she wanders the cove at night to this day, still guarding the treasure that was never found and searching for head...
Unfortunately, the story has become a bit commercialized, there is even a tour during the summer. It's supposed to be very well done but I myself think it would be more fun to go during the months where the tour doesn't run with a group of close friends. Also, this is just the recount of one of the versions put into my own words, there are many variations so it's hard to say which one is the true or most factual retelling
