[Mudnose watched quietly as Tigerfrost questioned the deputy. Her eyes narrowed to mere slits and she hissed. Who had died and made him leader? Talking like that to a deputy? Worse, talking like that to Foxfur? The pretty siamese growled. The mere thought infuriated her. Watch yourself, young one, she thought, a somewhat devious grin crossing her face. Her claws flexed under her, quietly imagining the scolding the warrior should have gotten, would've gotten if Lavenderstar was there. Or even Fathom. She sighed. She missed the days when Fathom was leader.
A sudden click drained all of her thoughts away. A look of puzzlement crossed her face for a moment. What the... a voice growled at her, a part of her that she hadn't heard from for awhile until the earlier happenings. Her conscience. Stop this nonsense, it growled. Stop thinking about that stupid leader! He was useless! Please, just stop it! Make use of yourself and apologize to Foxfur! it growled.
Mudnose narrowed her eyes. Why should I? He's insu-
Now! the voice snarled. Reluctantly, Mudnose got up, casting a gaze at Foxfur. Her eyes scanned over the tom's wounds. She winced slightly and trotted over to Foxfur, plopping down on her belly with a thud. She looked up at Foxfur, a look of puzzlemet crossing her face.] "Don't you think you should get those checked out?' [she asked, her crooked tail lightly gracing over the bite mark on the deputy's shoulder.
Her conscience growled. Apologize. it ordered. Mudnose ignored it with a small, barely noticable shake of the head. Her eyes drifted over to the medicine cat den. Her eyes narrowed, and a low growl came from her. Foxfur wouldn't be hurt if Brokensoul could control himself! She sighed, looking back at Foxfur.] "Think it's safe to leave him with Hauntedheart?" [she asked. [I slowly cleaned my wounds, my eyes closed, remembering the look in Brokensoul's eyes as he lunged towards me. Shuddering, I opened my eyes and looked over at Mudnose, curling my tail around my paws]
"Brokensoul should be looked at first, his wounds are worse, thanks to me,"
[I frowned and looked over at Hauntedheart's den, a small bit worried for the Medicine Cat. I sighed, and blinked slowly]
"She'll be fine. She's strong. I'm watching out for her anyway,"

[Mudnose blinked for a moment, almost ready to argue. A thought, her own one, cut her off though. She remained silent. There wasn't a need to argue. She sighed, her jaws shut firmly. Her tail twitched back and forth, almost rhythmically. She sighed, looking at her paws. [I shuffled my paws, smoothing my whiskers as I glanced over at Mudnose, unsure of what I was supposed to say. I love her. It's all my fault isn't it? I ruined everything. I sighed and stretched out on the cold ground, keeping an eye on camp]
"Whenever the SeaClan warriors give up and go back to their own land" I rumbled.

 The dark thought of ones mind... ☾Brokensoul☾ +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ [Brokensoul nodded wearily, and leaned on Foxfur to the medicine cat's den. He staggered a bit but made it to a nest next to where Scorchpaw was. His eyes widened.] I forgot about Scorchpaw! [Brokensoul limped out when Foxfur was gone and picked up Scorchpaw in his jaws. He began to sway, feeling the pain on his throat. Next thing he knew was he couldn't breathe. Carrying Scorchpaw was knocking the breath out of him. Brokensoul carelessly dropped Scorchpaw onto one of the nests and collapsed on the medicine cat entrance.] +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ can change you...

No, I won't let anybody fall in love with me. [Taking a few steps away from Foxfur, I looked down at my paws. Muttering,] "Great StarClan, when did it become such a crime to worry about your Clanmates?" [Moving my amber eyes upward, I saw Brokensoul struggling with Scorchpaw's limp body. Feeling the need to make up for not being here while this 'small situation' occurred, I raced up to Brokensoul.] "Need any help?" [I said carefully, not wanting to upset him.]
My heart is like an empty vault.
Locked and vacant, but it's not my fault.

Well, she was one, but she felt that she had been through enough near-death experiences now to be qualified as a grown up. She winced as she was suddenly dropped. Brokensould thudded to the ground beside her.] "Brokensoul!" [she cried.] This cat that has done so much just to delay my inevitable death...I have to make sure he's okay. [she shoved herself under Brokensoul. He felt limp on her tiny shoulders. She shuffled with effort to a more comfortable looking spot in the den, and carefully slid him into the nest. They were already in the Medicine Den, so she didn't have to do much else. Surprisingly brave, she sat next the Brokensould despite the risk of Shadow taking over again. But his gaze relaxed when he saw it was just Tigerfrost. He mewed weakly.] "N-No Tigerfrost, I-I'm fine..." [Brokensoul trailed off when he was suddenly being picked up by Scorchpaw, who quickly fell asleep.] Next to me? A-After everything...Shadow and I have done? [Brokensoul didn't want to think on it now, but kept his gaze on the ground, not daring to think of sleep.] Shadow takes over when I'm alone, or undefended. I must not keep my guard down! [Mudnose let a half-smile slide on her face, but it faded almost immediately. She sighed. "I suppose you're right," she meowed, looking at her paws for a moment. Say it, say it, say it! half of her screamed. The other half of her sighed inwardly. No, it thought simply. She didn't have to. It wasn't her fault! It was all Foxfur's fault!
She bit the inside of her cheek until she tasted the calming, metallic taste of blood. She swallowed it, looking at her paws. She couldn't think like that. She was being too stubborn. Sighing, she looked at Foxfur for a moment. Her heart raced as she began to speak. "Um...I guess I should say that I'm-" she cut herself off, trying to think. She started again. "I guess what I'm saying is that I am ap-" she cut herself off again. Wrong choicer of words. She hissed inwardly. This was hard. What if she said something.
She coughed slightly, clenching her teeth. "Look, this is hard for me, so just shut up and deal with it," she growled through her teeth. She glared at her paws. No backing out now. Her gaze softened, and she looked up at Foxfur, the deputy whom she had feelings for since the beginning of her duties as warrior. She had never thought that she would have to say this. She cleared her throat. No, I won't let anybody fall in love with me. He really shouldn't have refused my help, [Scowling, I swiveled back toward the clearing.] He's injured and he thinks he can carry Scorchpaw without assistance?
Besides, now that there are wounded cats in camp, that means that those cats can't hunt. Because wounds need to heal, and healing requires time. And in that time they are not capable of hunting.
[Picking up the prey in my jaws, I dragged it over to the fresh-kill pile.]
Great, now there's more hungry mouths that can't feed themselves. I guess I might as well just go out hunting again. By the time I'm back most of the pile will have been eaten anyway.
[I set the raven and two squirrels on the pile, ready to race back into the forest.]

[I shuffled my paws as Mudnose stumbled over her words. What's she trying to say? I looked at her, head cocked to the side as I waited for her to string together some words that actually made sense. I gave her a lopsided grin as encouragement, a bit of fear showing in my eyes as I didn't know what she thought of me at this point. Mudnose was the only cat I could be open and easygoing with. Everyone else only saw the big, moody, tough deputy, who bossed cats around and brooded by himself under the Shadestone a lot. I frowned, I'm not that bad, am I? Nah.
I was so deep in thought that I barely caught the she-cat's words. My eyes cleared as I blinked a few times. What? Did she just apologize?! I stared at her for a few seconds]
"I..You're.."
[Why did I always sound like an idiot!? Good StarClan! I took a deep breath and tried again]
"What're you sorry for? I'm the one who was always romping around trying to protect you! I understand now, how that made you feel. I should be the one who's sorry, and I am. I'm sorry, Mudnose"
