"We need to add another deck," Steven complained, dropping a two.

Jacob dropped a six, "We do...I might have one, actually. Lemme check." With that, Jacob reached into his shadow, on the table, searching for a deck. He was mumbling about miscellaneous items he was grabbing instead of the cards. After a moment, he found the deck and pulled it out, tossing it to Steven.

"Reshuffle 'em anyway," James suggested, and they all pushed their cards to him, since he seemed to be the best shuffler.
Paul sat down to join them. "Say, when does the meeting start?" he inquired.

"Where's the guy who found the Black Century base?" Dmitri asked, looking around as his hands blurred. He set the deck down.

"Ahm... Marco and I," Paul told Dmitri. "We found it."
"Who's dealing?" George asked.

"Ah, I see," Dmitri said, settling in the chair he'd occupied some time ago. "What was it like? Spare no details." He set the deck in the middle of their half-circle, making it someone else's problem.

"That would be me," Marco said as he entered. His ponytail was still wet and he was tucking in his shirt; clearly, he had forgotten the meeting. "Marco, I mean." He put a hand to shake.
Joe entered shortly after. "Sorry I'm la- ohhh, Egyptian War!"

Marco jumped in periodically with his own details. His excellent memory and penchant for storytelling made it very intriguing, and educating.

Dmitri frowned, missing Marco's hand offer entirely. "Black Century's director probably didn't die in there, then, if he... or she... didn't do something about the black hole."
"Well, I think that's all of our special guests," Dmitri declared as Joe walked in, after the story had been finished. "Countess, take it from here?" Dmitri asked. A woman in the corner nodded and walked over to the side of the oval table.
"Good..." she checked a watch, "Evening, friends. Seats, if you will?" Those who'd been standing sat, and Dmitri left his seat to stand by her. "We have confirmation of a few disturbing news items.
"First, Legion's spies in the Illuminati have all suddenly disappeared. Records indicated their psionics program was nearing a breakthrough weeks before the purge occurred. This doesn't bode well, obviously.
"Second, Gertrude was confirmed recaptured two days ago. The devil alone knows how, but she'd made her way all the way to Panama before she was found again.
"Third, and worst of all, Legion has successfully unified a human soul with a demon soul."
"s**t," Alan hissed. Most of the other people in the room - the magus-general, the Hunters from New York, the assorted Hunters they didn't recognize, and just about everyone else - had made similar expressions of dissatisfaction.
