Remus called over his shoulder. "Thanks. You were a great help." He then continued walking.

Twenty minutes later, he came to the outpost where he and Tyran had left Lina. He opened the door and walked inside. He found a chair and set Tyran in it before shifting to his human form. He made sure someone was taking care of Tyran, and then set out to find Lina.

"Yes, we won, barely." Remus came up behind her. His chest and ear were bandaged and the bleeding had subsided. "Tyran's asleep in another room." Remus put a hand on her shoulder. "Are you already prepareing for the next one?"

Remus gave her hand a small squeeze. "Then how about we get some rest like we'd planned before my half-brother got ahold of me and Dorian got a grip on you."

Remus gave a heavy sigh. "Come on..." He lead her from the room and sat down on one of the couches. "I don't know if I want to say it aloud, so if you really want to know, you'll need to read my memory."

Remus smiled and kissed her. He looked down and met her gaze, letting his memories flow through to her.

It began back in Fenrir's prison office. "Alright Remus let's have some fun." Remus was again being held by the large lycans. The syringe containing the lycanthropy "cure" a little ways away on the floor. Fenrir's cracking knuckles brought him back to the task at hand. "Remus, you've no idea how long I've wanted to do this."

Fenrir swung his fists and feet, hitting Remus again and again. It became difficult to orient himself and slowly, an ache spread throughout his body. Finally Fenrir stopped. Remus could only hang between his captors, panting. "Take comfort in at least one thing Remus. Our dear mother didn't have to suffer any more than this before she died. I'm afraid that's more than I can say for you. Hold him up and expose his back!" The last order was barked to the lycans holding Remus. They did as bidden and Fenrir smiled wickedly. Remus looked up to see him holding a large bullwhip. Fenrir said nothing more, but went around behind him.

The first lash was pure agony. The second was worse. Remus lost count of the times Fenir lashed out. Slowly, the darkness took him. The memory faded to a bright white as the location changed.

The next part of the memory came into focus as Remus awoke on the stone floor of a prison cell. He lay on his stomach to avoid the cuts that laced his back. He could hardly move because of the bruises anyway. "Dinner time." A voice called out and opened the door to his cell. Remus heard three pairs of feet. One for the food and two to make sure he didn't escape was his reasoning. "Y'know, you should count yourself lucky. Most prisoners don't get seasoning with their last meal. Fenrir wanted me to be sure you got this one with your dinner though.

Fenrir is doing me a favor?

Remus was confused, but only for a short while. Strong hands held him down. "You get salt with your dinner." His pupils contracted rapidly in pain as salt was poured into the cuts on his back. Finally, the hands removed themselves and all three left the cell. Remus lay there shuddering and trying not to be sick from the pain. He knew now more than ever that he had to get out.

As the pain continued, Remus sat up. He saw the tray that contained his dinner and slowly got to it. He stared at it for a moment, still biting back howls of agony.

Desperate men can do amazing things...

Swiftly, Remus picked up the thin metal tray, and tore it in two. He then proceeded to fold it over and over until it was small and narrow. His memory only remained cooherent to that point. Small flashes of him picking the lock and the trek back popped in and out, but it had finished.

Remus broke the connection and sat back up, rubbing his temples.

"Yes, he did get away from me." Remus opened his eyes. "On the other hand, he failed in his goals. He wanted me to be tortured before execution. He only got half of it." He reached out a hand and touched her cheek. "I'm fine."

Remus smiled and drew her in closer, kissing her. "I think you're right." He picked her up and began walking back to their room.
