YAY FLUTES!!!
I have been nominated for flute section leader, but since we stopped marching flute for field last season, whoever gets section leader will be the "member at large." I play mallets and the other person who got nominated plays baritone.
For concert, it's going to be awesome though. Fingers crossed! smile
p.s. I will be a sophmore and the other girl will be a senior lol smile but I got more nominations than her. I think that's kinda bad.

well im section leader of my schools flute section and umm any body here ever had an entire two classes try and mess up your flute because currently people have been denting my Nemo (yes i named my flute) and im getting blamed for it.

Denting instruments is NOT okay. Somebody in my orchestra did that to a trumpet and the whole orchestra got made on his behalf (we're tight like that). I'm essentially the section leader this year, I don't have the chair but am the one who tunes and leads sectionals etc. It's aggravating

My friend recently dropped her flute as she was getting out a piece of music. And she recently got it, and it's all sterling silver. Yeah, that's pretty bad. Luckily, it wasn't dented, but I still called her a total klutz. razz

I was the only 7th grader in my section and it was very stressful but now I'm moved on to the next grade and we're seperated evenly and I'm 1st chair since I was the only one who made it through to the higher band the year before! biggrin

i hate it when an entire flute section relies on you to play an entire but on the bright side extra credit for being last one standing xd

I'm so glad school is over! Although I did like band... Oh well, I'll be able to play a LOT over the summer! biggrin

I was recently made section leader for the 2010-2011 marching band.
We do not have a flute section, you see.
We have 11 marching piccolos.
