"This suit is built for stealth. Normally I would have come up the outside of the building, but I was in the middle of something else when I was contacted. Easier to come straight here on my way home." Emily replied. Actually her home was in the opposite direction, but she doubted he would care to know where she lived. She had a few places to stay anyway, so technically it was true that one of the old dilapidated buildings she owned was in this direction. "And given your demeanor, I assume you're the lawyer I was told to come and meet?" Emily asked, moving to close the door behind her.

Emily nodded and walked towards Edmond. "I'm not sure how much the Count told you about me..." she said carefully. She was hoping that he only said that a woman was coming here to meet him and not... anything dealing with her day job. "But you can call me E."

"Huh. Sounds like I wasn't the only one who kept busy after I left work today." Emily replied. "He's the one that started that fire though? Hm." she said, then waited a few moments for DISC to notify her when she received a lengthy message. She rarely received any of those any more, so it would be marked as important once she got it.

Once she did get the notification, she pressed something on the side of her helmet, and the lenses of her helmet began to glow. Using her computer with this suit wasn't the best when it came to stealth, but she didn't need to worry about that now.

She skimmed through what information was given to her silently, going over the rather important notes with a frown. She'd read through it all better once she was back to her own base. This was a bit troubling... and it reminded her a little too much of an infamous laboratory organization back in her old world.
"Did he happen to notice any logos or initials anywhere around the building?" she asked. Probably not if it wasn't in the notes... but it didn't hurt to ask. Just to be sure.

Her attention kept falling back onto the notes on the little girls though. She wasn't sure why, but it was just... sticking out at her for some reason. Usually when her intuition was trying to tell her something, there was something there. She didn't know what though... she hadn't come across any children or knew anything about any children.

... there was what looked like a child inside one of the other apartment rooms the firemen were evacuating. The notes did say that there were two... Rosies... that had escaped the lab. One of which was staying at the apartment complex.

Emily thought quietly to herself for a few minutes. Her focus shifting over all of the information that had been sent to her. "......I think this will definitely need to be looked into more. The way he was treated, and the way the people inside are being treated, it's safe to say this isn't some government organization that would cause a huge amount of trouble." she said. Then she paused another moment and sighed deeply. "I don't like the sounds of it. Experimenting on children... sounds like they're trying to steal powers from super heroes to try and manifest the powers. We had..... something similar to this back in my universe. They didn't try to draw out someone's powers as much as try and go straight for the original source, but there was still human experimentation. They were very underground and hidden as well. Along with a nice blanket of legal tape going around them that made it hard to do anything short of just destroying any labs we could find."

"Going back would be a risk now that they're on high alert and locked down... and they'll probably be more diligent about having guards stationed around the clock until they feel safe enough that no one is going to come back." Emily replied. Her tone contemplative. "That said... it might be even harder to get back into later. After they've fixed the cameras and made the security on entering and exiting a priority. And it's hard to say what other guards they'll have ready if they're successful when it comes to replicating powers. she added. "This would be a lot easier to debate if I had the contacts I used to."

Then she paused a moment in thought, then glanced across the Gotham skyline towards where the Iceberg Lounge would be. "....though... I might have access to something just as good..." She didn't like it... she really didn't like the idea of trying to find out from Cobblepot. But... if anyone was going to know something about shady, underground, hero-kidnapping, well-funded scientific organizations... it would be the Penguin. Even Savage might be able to find out. Or his equipment that he was supposed to give her to set up at Cobblepots office might.

...great.

"I mean I might know of a computer that just might have information about certain large business and equipment transactions. Even if this lab is being funded by someone, they have to get the equipment for security and metal from somewhere." Emily replied. Which was... partly true. Sneaking into Cobblepot's computer was going to be a hassle, but she could claim that she'd come across one of the Rosies or was attacked by a symbiote. Bring that up to Cobblepot and see if he knows anything about the lab.

She looked over the email again, then closed it all up and deactivated her computer program in her helmet. Allowing the lenses to return to normal again.

Emily sighed and fidgeted with her helmet for a moment. It looked like she was only adjusting how it was sitting on her head, but the motion seemed a bit nervous. She wasn't wanting to give a name out loud.

"Trust.... isn't an easy thing to give right now." she admitted. "Especially when my security blanket feels more like tissue paper compared to what it used to be." She wasn't sure he'd get the reference. It was something that used to be talked about when she had her full organization in her own universe. Now that that was gone and she only had her safe house... she didn't feel like she had enough security to be getting into anything with strangers. Though with Vandal... she sort of already was.

"......my day job." she said finally. "He should know what that means. I'd say more... but the only reason I was able to walk away with a busted back was because someone else found out and has a use for me being there. I say anything more..." she said, her helmet looking towards Edmond. Almost indicating that she meant she wasn't going to say anything more to him. "....and I'll have to go into hiding that I don't quite have the resources to do."

Emily listened carefully as the man spoke, then stood there for a moment after he had begun walking towards the stairwell. How did he know that? It was more than possible that the Count had told him, but... her computer too? Was he the reason all of the files she had tried to collect were deleted before she ever had the chance to look at them?

Feeling a little more on edge than relaxed, she followed him down the stairwell. Fixing her helmet so that it was fully locked together again, and reactivating the stealth mode in her suit. The less either of them had to worry about security cameras catching her, the easier it would be on them.

It hadn't quite crossed her mind that this man and the Count were one in the same. It was an elaborate cover-up, and something she only considered herself paranoid enough to do with someone new. Asking for a meeting, but double covering as someone else and claim to be the messenger of sorts.
