Well, not exactly. There are some pieces where the harder parts go to the brass, or another instrument gets a solo and we don't. But usually we get more stuff since we're the higher voice in the band. Unless you're a piccolo, then you get to always be heard, no matter what note you're playing! mrgreen

Haha yeah XD I play the piccolo in my band and if I'm not playing above the staff I usually can't be heard, but.. yeah XD and we get a lot of the hard parts, but that's what proves us to be better instruments XD

No matter what we're playing we never get a solo. And we work our a** off. We have to work harder than any other section in our band.

@ Karina: There's a song called Riversongs by Pierre LePlante, and there's technically just a trumpet solo, but the piccolo was added in because it repeats and the flutes come in the second time.
@ Screamin: Well with my school band, basically every section has its work cut out for them at a certain part in each piece of music. Like in Riversongs, it's articulation for everyone, and with another piece we're playing it's trying to make the trumpets back off.

But since we had a concert today, we're done with that piece. sweatdrop

http://www.armstrongflutes.net/flutes/product.php?model=800BMy flute. It's not, like, uber special, but it's pretty nice. Plus it's all silver and it has a gold lip plate and crown. Just thought I'd show it to you guys, and maybes anyone else can post pics of their flute? I've also had an Armstrong 303 for a flute(it's only got a silver head joint), a crappy Armstrong marching flute, and an Armstrong metal piccolo which I use for band and also now for marching band! And, yes, that means I won't be using my bad flute anytime soon.

A 303B only has a SS head joint I believe, and the 800B is all silver. But I advise that if you want to get a more professional instrument or something, to go and buy it used at a good dealer. That's where my dad gets my instruments, and they all work fine.
