Michael blinked, his teenage boy mind immediately going to the gutter. His face turned an immediate shade of red, but after Caroline revealed the wallet with the family photo, he let out a sigh of relief and stared at the picture.

He could definitely see the family resemblence between Caroline and her brother, but her gaze shifted towards the backround of the picture and the two people kissing in the backround. He pointed at the picture, looking at Caroline curiously.

He reached into his own pocket and pulled out his black leather wallet. After rummaging within, he pulled out the picture and handed it to Caroline.

The picture was card sized and was of a woman and child, the woman's arms draped over the young boy's shoulder and her head resting atop of his. Her dark brown hair dropped long past her shoulders, nearly covering the young boy. Her eyes were a light blue, clashing with the young boy's, which were gold and slitted. In the far backround, a man stood watching the two, his face hidden under his fedora. A faint gold glow could be seen where his eyes would be.

He smiled, remembering those days that had long since passed. His smile immediately faltered, as the thought of his father crossed his mind.

((Yes, it really took me a month to reply to this. I am so sorry. I have no excuse.))

"Yeah, those are my parents," Caroline replied, slipping out of dragon-speak. It wasn't the language she was most comfortable with, and Michael could understand her either way, so what did it matter? But still, the photos. "They're like peanut butter and jelly!"

She took Micheal's photo and looked at it carefully. "Ooooh... You're so adorable! And your mother is so pretty!" Caroline looked back up at Michael expectantly. "If you don't mind me asking, who's the fedora man in the background?"

"Oh, you see him. His name is Arkos, and he is a pretentious jerkface. He's my father, obviously. Such a lovely, monsterous whatever curse name I want to call him would be there. Yeah, let's not talk about him anymore. He's not a pleasant person."

Michael smiled at Caroline, giving her a pat on the head. "So, my dear, are you feeling any better? I need to make sure a certain merman doesn't beat me to our room so I can publicly embarrass him." He smirked. "On par for the course, really."

Lucas smirked and nodded his head in return to the curtsy. Good, this girl ignored their closeness in age and respected his title. That was how he'd hoped, or Lucas would have been upset if she'd behaved any other way. "So are shifters not common at this school? I assumed since it was a Magical school there would be plenty. Much like the two felines here."

Luke then looked down at his paw- no his hand, he wasn't an animal. He was a human. Anyway, he looked to see the more friendly of the two girls, whom he was guessing was Love. Lucas was filled with a mix of disgust and amusement. Disgust that this creature who was so much human acted so like an animal. Amused however at the endearing behavior. As a Prince, most people weren't so neutral about approaching him and scenting him. Usually they would get overly excited and start to annoy him. He pulled his hand away and tucked it in his pockets, trying to not show his opinion so much on his face. He was prone to do that, even unintentionally.

Caroline giggled, and shook her head. "Alright, I'll take your word about the whole pretentious jerkface dad - but I'm good now, so don't let me hold you up from a good prank! That's just blasphemy, right there!" Like Michael had asked, she wouldn't poke or prod about his dad. Clearly, he didn't like him, and that one photo had creeped her out a bit as well.

She gave the boy a brief hug. Even though her cheeks were still flushed and her hair was still a mess, she felt a lot better. To have someone to be able to talk to, that was a luxury. Michael wasn't her brother, but... she liked the way he had listened all the same. And now she knew she wasn't the only dragon on campus either.

Michael once again felt his cheeks flush, and he slowly returned the hug. He couldn't help but smile at her reaction; it was comforting to see someone who was hurt feeling better. He gave her a reassuring pat on the head before closing his eyes and muttering a few incantations under his breath.

With a gentle flick of his wrist, a rose slid out of his sleeve and into his hand. The rose was a deep blue, dark as the sea. "I want you to have this, Caroline. If you ever want to talk or need anything at all, just hold the rose and say my name. I may be sounding cliche, maybe, but just say my name and I'll be there."

He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Just don't summon me to your room or someplace that would get me into trouble. As funny as it would be, I'd rather not lose my job. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to be embarassing a certain merman." And with that, Michael rose from his comfy seat and continued his trek towards his room.

Suddenly, Ever heard the bell ring for the first class. Speaker systems were set out outside so the students who had outdoor classes could still hear the bell when it rang.

Ever quickly stood up, materialized her book bag on her back, and started to walk back up the hill. She had been working on materialization of her book bag quite a bit recently since she sometimes forgot it upstairs.

She looked back at the people she had been talking with as she walked back up the hill. What an eclectic group! They were quite interesting.

"It's been very nice talking with you Love, Doom and Mr. Quicksilver. I'm starting a new class today, though, so I have to head out. I'm taking part of the new art class. What class to do you two have, Love and Doom? Mr. Quicksilver, can you sit in on class?"

He tilted his head in though on how to respond to her question. "I suppose I can, as I must understand myself what it is I am instructing you girls in when you are in need of so. However, art is not my strong point unlike academics are. Perhaps I should see just what this class is and learn myself. There weren't many art classes available in Saint Gristlewood, my alma mater." He spoke in a pondering tone, unsure if he should listen in on this art class.

Ever tilted her head to the side. "Well, if you don't think art will give you the information you need, maybe you can attend a class Love or Doom are in. I used to take art last year, but then the professor left and the class stopped. I'm so glad they got a new one."

She smiled at the professor and adjusted the bag on her shoulder. "You're from St. Gristlewood? I've never been there, though I've heard it can be kinda rough... or maybe that's Unwelcome Boulder?"

Lin and Dymetri walked up and into Bai Ching. Lin had contacted her headmistress and she had allowed Lin and Dymetri through the barrier that was set up. Dymetri had gotten rid of Marcos and now completely had the body all to himself. Lin was out of the mirror and thoroughly enjoying being around greenery again. A result of her being trapped inside the mirror, though, she was now back to at Bai Ching. She would no longer stay in MFHS. That had been her last straw.

Lin was carrying two suitcases and Dymetri was carrying three. It was all of Lin's luggage from Bai Ching. Most of it was her potion supply. Dymetri didn't have much luggage, and she wasn't sure if Dymetri was staying or not.

Lin sighed in complete relief and joy at being back home. She turned to Dymetri, set her luggage down, and jumped a couple of times.

"Dymetri, I'm home! I'm home!! I'm back at Bai Ching! Please... Please tell me you'll stay. You can get a job here if you want! If not a job here at the school, then you can get a job in town. Dymetri... I don't want you to go back to MFHS. I don't want to be here without you, but I'm not going back to MFHS."

He met her giddy eyes with his own calm, content expression. "Lin, we had already made friends at Mystic. Quentin and Maggie? And what of your clone? I'm happy that you're home, my love, I really am. And after losing you, I really understand what.." He inhaled deeply, closing his eyes briefly. "What you must have gone through with me. Now, I'm staying for you, right now, to make sure this place is suitable for you. I know it's your home, but you haven't been here in a while. I don't want you to have any regrets."

Mostly, he just wanted to let everyone know that Lin was his. Partially, he was curious about the school. Ultimately, he needed an excuse to stay beside her.

He chuckled. "My last job had me falling for one of my students, highly unethical. I could only imagine what will happen in my next one."

Dymetri pushed a strand of hair away from Lin's eyes. They were always so compassionate, so loving, so fierce.

"It can be harsh on the weak minded, since it is a very harrowing academic school. Unwelcome Boulder however, is an assassin's academy. I once did a report on it, and the information I found was very limited. I couldn't even get the continent it resides in it's so hidden" He spoke, merely informing her on the differences between St. Gristlewood and Unwelcome Boulder, a comparison he found quite unsavory.

He considered going to one of their classes as well, but he really didn't want to be around these animalistic creatures, especially Love despite how precious he was. Luke did not want to deal with primitive beings such as the animal hybrids. "I should probably attend the art class despite it being my weak point. I don't need to attend a class on academics since I was the Valedictorian at St. Gristlewood my graduating year. So where is it exactly?"

Nikolaus Brandt was leaning against a wall in the foyer of Bai Ching as pair walked into the room unexpectedly. He wasn't too alarmed as no one of maleficent could ever enter the school grounds what with that barrier up. The one that kept him from going home.

He didn't know why Krause wouldn't let him leave, but apparently she wanted him here for some reason. Perhaps as an extra precaution since he was part of the reason it was put up anyway, or just as an extra security in case something else did happen. Nonetheless, he was stuck here with nothing to do day in and day out. Of course, her daughters, but really her students, were not safe with him prowling the halls. On numerous occasions he had suckered in a poor girl with promises of love to end in his disappearance from her side until she was desired again. That couldn't be prevented anyway, and more than likely with his sneaking skills she wasn't too aware of it.

His eyes looked over the male and female. The young female was attractive enough, and drew his eye to a degree. But the male, the male made his eyes widen and his posture straighten. It had been too long since he'd seen an attractive male and his senses were deprived of the sensation. Nikolaus had over time began to grow sick of females, and at this moment was realizing just how much he was hungering for male flesh. If he couldn't hook up with Eiji soon, he was going to erupt.

Nikolaus would have typically thought of enticing the male, but it was obvious the two were a romantic pair and he would never want to step onto someone else's territory, since females could be frightening in their own right. Instead, he merely stepped forward to greet the two, his eyes mainly lingering on the male. "Welcome to Bai Ching, apparently I'm the greeter here as I've not been given any other job to do. He said jokingly, his eyes only barely taking a second to look at the girl. Then, he did turn his head to her to ask her a question, but his eyes were empty, not nearly half as enchanting as they were when they were looking at the male. "Are you going to become a student here at Bai Ching? I'm sure Krause will give your boyfriend a place to stay until you become comfortable here, or a job so he could stay permanently. Look at me, I'm just stuck here for no apparent reason and without a job. I'm sure his chances are pretty high." He had over heard what she had said prior to his greeting, so that's why he tried to reassure of that possibility. Also he just wanted the male to stay here so he could have an attractive male form to look at after the long string of females he'd been looking at for months.

Doom was a little to engrossed in what she was doing to know that she was being talked to, at least at the beginning, leaving Love to talk for the pair, something that was never very good. Love had a habit of telling people things they didn't need to know, things they didn't want to know, and things they weren't supposed to know. Have a secret? Don't tell her. She'll forget about it (the don't tell anyone part) and bring it up with you later, no matter who is around. She thought for a moment, bouncing up and down. "Love's next class is Theoretical Mathematics and Doom's next class is that thingy where the class draws circles on the ground. Macrame."

Doom blinked when her sister said that she was taking a class in... Macrame? What in the world was she talking about now. "My next class is advanced Alchemy." The pair had just started at the school, but something about genius level intellect sort of got them placed in the higher classes. Granted, nothing about Love really suggested she had genius level anything unless she was actually being tested. Or if you looked at her whiteboard in her room.

Love heard 'Saint Gristlewood' and smiled, "That's where Daddy went! Isn't Saint Gristlewood where Daddy said Doom?" She was smiling like the Cheshire Cat, her tail flicking back and forth happily like she'd just discovered the secrets of the universe, or someone had given her a lollipop. What? She's only 8 months old, you give her a lollipop she's going to hit the moon. Doom too, but she's not going to show it as much.

Doom nodded to her sister. "Mommy went there too, judging from the drawer at home that Daddy keeps full of all of Mommy's citations for streaking." Although, her mom hadn't gone there for very long, seeing as her Mom couldn't actually read. She could dismantle a particle accelerator and put it back together 100% more efficient, but she couldn't tell the difference between the written English language and a bunch of squiggles Love used to draw on the living room walls.

Lin grinned and blushed when Dymetri pushed a strand of hair away from her face, but she forced herself to reach up and gently pull his hand down to her side, clasping it.

"Dymetri... I love you and want to be able to be with you... but Bai Ching is much stricter with its rules on displays of affections here than MFHS was. This is an all-girl's school, and while male professors, workers, and tutors are allowed here, fraternization is by no means allowed and we cannot be overt with our expressions of love."

She smirked slightly and lowered her voice. "However, with my pendant, I can always teleport you to my side, as long as you are on this side of the school's barrier to begin with. I have my own room here since I have such good grades and I need privacy for my potions experiments. We could always spend time together at night. Neither of us require much sleep."

Lin very reluctantly dropped Dymetri's hand. She immediately felt the loss and almost went to pick up one of the suitcases she had dropped to the floor just so that she had something to do with her hands. She did not, though. Her grin was wide as she spoke.

"Dymetri, I do not think I will regret coming home at all. The only possible way I could regret this is if you became unhappy here. Then I would have deep regrets. We always knew I would come back here, though. I am just here sooner than planned. We can keep in touch with Quentin and Maggie through correspondence, and Alena... well, I had not had a chance to tell you this. She is coming here as well. She had hoped to speak with Ambrose before she left. And Dymetri, I feel that you will make many more new friends here!"

Her expression took on one with a hint of deviance. "And as for your last job, I do wish you could become a professor again. I do believe you could with all the knowledge you had, and Bai Ching is not as strict about age when it comes to teaching. They simply want to know your intelligence level. It would be quite fun to have you as a professor again."

Lin giggled softly and then looked to the side as someone approached them. She thought he was a professor at first, but when he said that he apparently was a greeter and had no other job, she grew quite confused. Since when did Bai Ching just let strange men visit campus and stay? Was he even a family member?

"Uh.. Good day, sir. My name is Lin Yin. I actually am a returning student. I was an exchange student at Mystic Fountain High School this year, but I have returned a couple months early. Headmistress Krause knows of this already and has told me to simply return to my old room when I returned to get settled in. I appreciate your offer of assistance, though."

Her face grew more curious. "Sir, if you do not mind me asking, what is your name and how did you come to stay here?"

Ever arched an eyebrow at the man in front of her. Mr. Quicksilver seemed a little... arrogant? Yes, that was the correct word. Throwing out the part that he was valedictorian at St. Gristlewood and the look he seemed to give Doom and Love did not set well with her at all. It reminded her of a lot of the rich students that came to Bai Ching.

She sighed and tried to keep a smile on her face. "Well, we would look forward to having you look in on our class, Mr. Quicksilver. I'm sure the new professor would be pleased as well."

Ever looked back at Love and Doom and her eyes widened at the classes they listed that they had. "Wow... That's... I had not expected that. Those are impressive classes."

She looked at everyone and smiled. "Well, I have to hurry to class, as do you, Mr. Quicksilver, if you are going to sit in. I hope to see you both again soon, Love and Doom! Maybe we'll see each other again at noon. Talk to you later!"

She raced off up the hill and into the school. She passed two individuals that were standing in the hallway and her gaze fell on Nikolaus. Her eyes flashed slightly, remembering their time together, and then she continued hurrying to her class.

When Ever arrived in the art classroom, she looked around and then called out. "Umm, hello? Professor? Anyone here?"

Nikolaus nodded his head at the girl, ignoring her puzzled expression over his position at this school. Or at least lack thereof. "A pleasure to meet you Miss Yin, it's nice to have a new face around here to change the scenery for a bit. Ever since that barrier went up, things have been a bit dreary around here." He spoke as he shoved his hands into his pockets and his lips formed a thin line. Nikolaus didn't like speaking about his situation very much, and here this girl was wanting to dig up his troubles to be spread all out on the table. He squinted his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. Story time begins.

"I'm sure Miss Yin you heard of the attack that happened a while back, which caused the barrier to be erected, correct? I merely work in the town nearby, and was here during the time of the attack. Krause won't allow me to leave, so I'm pretty much stuck here. I think it's a dumb decision on her part, I cause more of a threat to her daughters in here than out there. Believe me, I wish I was out of here." He grumbled out, growing frustrated even as he spoke. Like he was about to let it spill that he led the attack, that he caused his own demise. He wanted to put all the blame on Krause, so he wouldn't feel so bad.

Lucas merely perked an eyebrow at the classes the feline hybrids were taking. So they weren't inferior animals, but actually just like him? Intelligent humans trapped in a feral world. Now he understood them much more, and even felt compassion in his heart for them. Luke knew all about what it was like to deal with the wars of your two halves, the human and the animal. Sometimes the human won, and sometimes the animal won. It frightened him that one day he would turn completely feral and lose all of his morality and human nature. It caused a shiver to run up his spine.

"I think I'll drift from class to class, see what sort of material I need to study on. Do you know of anywhere I could put a sign up sheet for tutoring classes? I would like to get the word out as soon as possible so I don't have to bored in the library all day, I'm almost running out of the books that aren't secured and locked down." He spoke as he gave a long, sorrowful look at the two felines. For once in his life, His Highness actually pitied someone besides himself. It was an odd feeling, he couldn't deny it.
