At Gambler's words, a small smile was on Kalore's lips as he shook his head, mouthing out to himself, "I feel horrible, but that's not why." No. He felt bad because he thought that this was all done in some cruel jest, but apparently it wasn't. No...Just in confusion... Kalore didn't know if that was better or worse. Sighing, he thought about what he would do if Monty actually did come in here...

Gambler stood up and slapped him on the face. "I like being short and dark haired, thank you very much." Had it been anyone else, Monty would have burned that person on the spot but this was Gambler who had a rep of her own so he just sat and growled. "I should feed you to my dogs or hand you over to my father right now." "Rave would be uber pissed about that. Rave likes my height and my dark hair." "I don't understand how. He's a very respectful elf who is a warrior on his own right and ends up with the likes of you." Gambler growled at Monty. "I would have thought he had high standards in women...I guess not."
Gambler slapped Monty again. "I hope Kalore shoots so many arrows in you that you sh*t arrowheads for the rest of your life!" She yelled at him and went to the couch and sat down with a scowl. Inwardly, she was laughing at Monty. It was pretty crazy for her to do that but in truth she would rather have Monty make her mad and call her names then go off and some suicide jobs without everyone in on it. Monty slightly smirked at what happened but it left him as he looked at his hands, thinking about apologizing for his actions.

At the yells and slaps, Kalore moved so that he was sitting on his knees and looking out the door, only poking his head out. After looking around for a few seconds, he closed the door again, making very little noise as he did this. They were both alive so things were okay. Well, as okay as they could be. Kalore sighed and leaned against the door again, closing his eyes as he cursed himself over and over for actually caring for someone other than Rave.

"Monty! I order you to make me some food." Monty flinched and growled, knowing that at her order he had to obey. He stood up and started to make something for his boss. "While your at it, make something for Eldin and Kalore. They must be hungry but too afraid to come and get something because you might have poisoned everything." He growled lowly again. "I wouldn't blame Kalore for thinking that." He muttered to himself. Of course, why should Kalore ever trust him? Or even talk to him? There was no way he would do this to Kalore. He cared for the elf. Thought of him as a friend and shared more with him than anyone in all his life. Then he went ahead and messed it up. All because he felt something that was developing to only prove himself that it was real.
Before he would make anything for Gambler he made a plate of the things that Kalore liked to eat and marched right over to the closed door that protected the elf from this demon. He knocked softly.
Gambler stood up and silently walked to the kitchen to fix herself something to eat, praying to her authority figure in the sky to give Monty the strenght and dignity he needed.

Blinking, Kalore slid back up the door and turned around, poking his head out, expecting Gambler. That was not Gambler. He blinked again, looking up to see Monty, "Yes?" Why was he so calm? Because you know that nothing was going to come from that kiss. So why worry about this? Kalore ignored that thought as he blinked and saw the food in Monty's hands, licking his lips slightly at the fruit.

Monty blinked at Kalore and caught that motion. He mentally slapped himself as a thought came to him about Kalore and licking lips. "I thought you might be hungry." He said gruffly and offered the plate of food to Kalore. No, it was really Gambler who thought about food and making something for the elves but he wasn't going to look like a idiot by blabbling. First a a**hole and then a idiot, not what he needed.

Smiling at him, Kalore was still amazed that he was being so calm. He took the plate and looked at him, opening the door slightly. "Come in? Gambler's probably annoying you..." He didn't care about what happened with Gambler, Kalore just wanted an explanation. If Monty declined his offer, Kalore would just come out with why he was doing this. He wasn't mad, though he should have been, but he wanted to know why he was kissed if it wasn't out of cruelty.

Gambler looked over her shoulder. "Monty! You don't mind rat poison in your food right?!" Monty blinked and growled at what she said. "I would like to give you rat poison damn heathen." He mumbled and looked straight ahead and not at Kalore. "Are you sure?" He asked the elf. Yeah he was starting to get nervous but he hid it behind that expressionless mask.

Kalore rolled his eyes and pulled him in, closing the door. "She's loud..." he shrugged and went to the table, sitting down there while motioning for him to sit down to. Putting the fruit in the middle of the table, Kalore nibbled at a strawberry while waiting for the demon. That expressionless mask was fake, at least Kalore guessed it was, but he didn't know for sure. He didn't know what to say, so he waited for Monty to either get up and leave or start talking.

Monty hesitated and shook his head. He didn't want to sit down because he wasn't going sit and pretend that everything was okay. "I hope you enjoy your lunch. Is there anything you would like to drink?" He asked, being very solictious to Kalore. Not that Kalore needed anything to drink since he had coffee and water here. Monty was acting like a baby.

Sighing, Kalore stood up and walked to Monty, standing in front of him with his arms crossed. "Why did you do it?" Seeing as Monty was going to be a baby about this, Kalore would just get to it. "And I'm not mad." Looking at him, the elf didn't move, ignoring the fact that he was less than five inches from the man. He wanted to know why Monty did this if it wasn't out of cruelty.

Monty flinched backwards and blinked at Kalore. Damnit. It was now or never. Sighing he looked down. "You shouldn't be mad. You should be livid." He said. Where could he start? He didn't want to bare his damned soul here to this elf because frankly he wasn't ready to bare it to anyone. Somehow he figured that Kalore could do it without working at it. "I...I wanted to." He said, which was the lamest thing he has ever said in all his years.

A finger lifted Monty's chin as Kalore looked into his eyes, shaking his head, "You shouldn't look down like that. It doesn't suit you." Sighing, he just mouthed out, "Don't kill me please." A gentle kiss was placed on the man's lips for a second or two, but soon he parted. Kalore walked over to the table to write on the notebook quickly, "I didn't mind the kiss, but I was worried. I heard you talking to Gambler, so I hope you weren't lying then and you better not be lying now. Why should I be livid, Monty?" He had to write it down to show him because there was no way that Kalore would be able to mouth that out without going a mile a minute.

Monty froze and watched Kalore. He couldn't believe his eyes. That didn't just happen. No, it couldn't have happened because he didn't like men because of what happened not too long ago. Then again, he didn't feel the usual sensation of wanting to hurt someone. What he did feel was that unknown feeling again. It was there when he kissed Kalore and it came again when Kalore kissed him. It was only in the presense of Kalore that he felt something, anything that wasn't the usual aloofness that he gave everyone. Slowly, he opened up towards Kalore, mostly to help the elf get through his attacks. "You should be livid because of what I did. I...I don't want you to be lead to think that I lied about my feelings toward males." 'Though I sure as hell are having some feelings when it comes to you.' He thought and looked down again. "It wasn't a joke what I did." He muttered. It couldn't have been since he never laughed about anything other than an enemy dying by his hands. A rare thing too.

"Then what's the problem?" Kalore was back to writing everything down. "If it wasn't a joke, then okay. If you don't feel anything, then okay. But I need to know where you stand on that, Monty..." He wasn't going to be pulled to and fro just because Monty couldn't figure out what his own feelings were. Eri had done one good thing and that was teach Kalore that you needed to take the time to freeze everything and find where you stood on things. Especially things that involved more people than just you.
