have any of you ever heard of a bass flute? it's like a regular flute, only longer and with a U-shaped mouthpiece. my band director told me about them, and now i wanna play one!

I kind'a wanna play it, instead of the regular flute. xD
I tried to play piccolo, but my hands cramped up too much...
xD

And I have a intermediate flute, and a professional flute. o.o
I'm in Advanced Band, since I'm in 8th grade... I've been playing for like, forever. xD

Besides another girl, and I, there are 3 boys who play flute at our school. o.O

ok im a guy...but i need to know IS THERE ANYONE HERE (way to many post to go through the pages) WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY THE ALTO FLUTE!? my mother gave me Sterling Silver Armstrong Alto Flute...i play the trombone but she thinks ill find a teacher...i hope all im really asking for is a place to get free sight music etc. please resond!!!

Yay!! Flutes!! blaugh I'm happy, the flutes in my band are all either really snooty, or really cool but in a different band. (GRRR, foolish friends, switching to the other band.) It makes me crying But now I am happy!! biggrin So, whaddya want to chat about?

There is this one guy in my section I can not stand at all! He makes me so mad! Acting like he's the best! TT^TT It's very sad and my BD isn't doing much about it....

i have been playing for 6 years and im a sophmore.
my flute section is all scrambled up...there are some i love and some i want to murder in there sleep.....but i realy love th 60% of my section that have a mosh pit with me when my bands drum line play this realy nifty song!!!!we head bang and everything.Best section ever... 4laugh

How much do they usually cost? (good ones, not crappy ones that don't work)

i think armstrong is pretty good for a piccolo or a flute. they cost like $1500 up in New England for new and around $800 new/used. it stinks. im using the schools one now...and its not bad....its not good either.

omg really im sooo jealous although next year for marching band we get to dance THRILLER!!!
