Andrea stepped out after her and shut the door, smiling at her. "Well then, let's go." she said before starting to walk down the hallway towards the dining room, glad that she had become friends with Catriona.

Catriona flounced ahead, grabbing the door handle to the dining hall and pulling the door open happily for Andrea, feeling less than her 18 years. When she saw all the guests at the table and around the room, however, she blushed and remembered herself, returning to somber formality in the face of a room full of strange people she still considered her superiors.

Andrea smiled at how carefree Catriona was and playfully ruffled her hair a little when she opened the door for her. She blinked, noticing her sudden revertion back to her shy self and thought for a moment. "Hmm..it's alright." she said before gently taking one of her hands and lightly pulling her inside with her, keeping a comfortable distance between them and everyone else.

Catriona nodded an allowed herself to be led into the room. She still didn't feel comfortable but felt better that Andrea was there. Sitting down she stole a glance at Pix, probably still ready to kill her, before returning her gaze to her hands in her lap.
'But imagine,' she thought to herself, 'me, a serving girl, sitting at a table with guests of the castle.' What an odd few days these had been, indeed.

Looking around seeing everyone he relaxes a bit then sees Catriona and Andrea enter the room. "seems like everyone is here... I think" he says quietly to himself and smiles

Andrea lightly sat down next to Catriona, noticing her glance towards Pix. She thought for a moment before she playfully nudged her with one of her elbows, quickly acting like she hadn't done anything as she looked around the room. Her hopes were to make Catriona feel a little more comfortable.

Catriona's eyes widened and she blushed, but, realizing it was a playful nudge, elbowed Andrea back lightly, still keeping her head down, but now it was to hide the small smile creeping across her face. Having a friend was nice, she decided and hoped that the rest of Master Lucas' guests would be as friendly as Andrea, realizing Evacy had already tried being nice to her. She'd have to make it up to Evacy and try being a little more open around these people; so far the results had been rather favorable for the most part.

Andrea smiled, staring at Catriona for a moment before she suddenly hugged her. "You're so cute!" she said as she cuddled her, seeming to love her to death already. Andrea wondered if this is what it would be like to have a little sister, and she smiled widely at the thought of it. A little sister? she thought before letting go of Catriona, smiling as she ruffled her hair up.

Catriona made a small choking noise as the air was hugged out of her. When she was let go, she smiled back, her face reddening as she felt the whole room must be watching them after Andrea's sudden outburst.
However, at the same time, she felt a certain satisfaction at being called cute. It was a heck of a lot nicer than a lot of the other things she'd been called in her life.
It was a rude tug from reality when she felt her stomach complain ever-so softly. She hugged her abdoman to keep it quiet until such a time as when she could tend to her hunger.

Andrea blinked when she heard her stomach growl and snickered a little before she rummaged through a small bag she had with her. "Hmm..." she blinked then smiled as she produced a piece of bread and held it out to her. "Here, it's not much but..hopefully it'll help." she said as she lightly waved the bread in front of Catriona.

Kiro leaned back in his chair, using his foot to anchor him. His eye began to slowly close as time went on. It wasn't long till he was asleep in his seat. His foot slipped and he fell backwards with a loud thump. He sat up looking around as if nothing had happen "yeah...um…. my bad" he said with a shaky voice as he picked up his seat, he could tell everyone was staring at him strangely.

Catriona accepted the bread hesitantly and was about to take a bite when she heard a loud thunk and almost jumped clean out of her skin. Looking around quickly she saw it was only a dark haired guest. Relieved, she finally took a few small bites out of the bread and her whole body thanked her. She was much better and it felt like a knot in her abdoman was undoing itself as she finished the small bit of what had surely been a large loaf. Catriona made a small noise of contented satisfaction before murmuring a quiet "thank you" to Andrea.

((Time to move things along again.))
Lucas noticed that everyone was here now.
"Alright everyone, follow me, we have a meeting with Boss."
He smiled and led the group to the upstairs of the apartment. Opening some wide wooden doors, he explained "This is his quarters."
They faced a long hall. Lucas took the closest door to the left.
"And this, this is the meeting room when Boss talks with his advisors and me."
A long table not unlike the one in the dining hall was in the center room, once again framed with many chairs. Everyone took a seat and Gerard appeared.
"The Lord General should be here shortly," he said calmly and left.
Kai popped his fingers anxiously, knowing that this meeting would answer a lot of his questions.
After a moment the door opened again.
A man appeared, young and youthful looking. He had short blonde hair and the slightest bit of stubble was on his jaw and chin. His soft green eyes looked around the room. His long-sleeve tunic was royal blue, and his pants were faded grey.
Kai finally realized who this man was. "Tanner!" he blurted out, standing up from his chair.
The Lord General Tanner Thorne was visibly shocked, but his face soon turned to surprise as he recognised who this was that knew his name. He ran over to Kai and they embraced for a few seconds.
Kai was very relieved, but also surprised. He had no idea that Lucas had been talking about his best friend this whole time.
"I don't even have to ask why you left, Tanner. Living up here I feel so free, and I know I want everyone where we used to live to come up here with us too," Kai said, grinning from ear to ear.
"I'm glad you understand," Tanner said, also grinning. "Well take a seat, Kai. I'll explain as much as I know."
Lucas was laughing. This was quite odd, but then again he had realized he had never said Tanner's name, just calling him Boss. Kai went all this time having no idea that the Lord General was apparently his best friend. What an amazing coincidence. Maybe fate?
Tanner paced around the room, talking as he went. "I'll just go ahead and tell you all how I ended up as Lord General.

Tanner paced along the room, talking as he went. "I'll just go ahead and tell you all how I ended up as Lord General."
"When I left 'Underground,' as I call it, I followed the river, coming to Yent. Of course the Yent you saw was nothing like the Yent I used to know. I lived there for a while, getting adjusted to the culture of the world above, the food, everything. I soon knew just about as much common knowledge as any person would know. I knew then I could never go back home."
"It was great there, and I made several good friends." He paused for a moment. "Soon, war came. Illys officials came to Yent to enlist soldiers in the army. I joined up, having practiced the combat arts with some old war veterans in Yent ever since I had lived there."
"All the recruits were taken to Illys, where we trained as footsoldiers. I grew more proficient with a blade, and also with a spear. Soon I learned the reason for the active recruiting was specifically a war with Gelth, another city similar to this. The reasons Illys and Gelth were fighting is not important," he said, shaking his head slowly a couple times.
"Well, the war went on for four years. I guess I had a gift for combat, as I got promoted to General after a while. Then my superiors said I had a sharp mind, showing also a gift for field tactics. I got promoted again three years into the war, this time to Commander and also a Knight of Illys. I didn't get along well with a lot of the other high-ranking officers. They were quite angry that I got promoted so quickly. It took them often so long that when they did get promoted, they were past their prime and took background roles."
"But not me, I was an active man of the army, loyal as could be. My men won a key battle right here in Illys, but in the midst of our victory things almost took a turn for the worse. A crazed, suicidal soldier of the Gelth army rushed into the castle with several followers and made his way to the Lord General's chamber, mortally wounding him. He almost made it to the King, but the guards stopped them. The battle was over, and the war was basically won. Amidst the chaos of a castle murder, I stepped in as the Lord General, only intending to be temporary. The King's successor got along well with me, sharing empathy with a man of his army, having served in it himself as a young man."
"When it came time to name a successor to the Lord General's position, as you may guess, he chose me. It was a surprise to many, but soon everyone realized that I could handle it."
"Of course, I'm by no means one to gloat about myself, but I'm proud I made it this far. My father would be proud."
