"There are dragon-folk more powerful than I, and you know not of my extent in my neutral form. Yes, I have another form of breath weapon beyond ice, but that is about it. As you can see, I'm lacking in the blades department." Yup, for a dragon she rather lacked things such as a tail blade. Pawing around some...felt cramped. "Smart human. Elvish things are meant for elves." Though a blink then and she craned her neck back. "My good looks? Attracted to dragons or are you just hoping you're right? As I said...you don't know my neutral form." After all, they'd never met...just everyone knew of Hunter.

But she looked over as a glint caught her eyes and she walked over, pawing through the dirt and such. Tilt of her head. "Is this what you're looking for?" Sure enough, a single shard about three inches long of crystal that had a rainbow tint to it. Or at least her eyes could see the color.

"Because I know your kind. and you may not see me, but that doesn't mean I haven't seen you."

A grin back at her before noting her pawing and moving over, trying not to make it look like he was in a hurry..after all, can't make it look like this particular thing was very overly world altering important. picking up the shard, and placing it in a pouch on his belt.

"and you should know, humans are attracted to power and longevity as much as dragons are attracted to large quantities of gold and jewels. Shall we take a look at this in the light?"

"Oddly enough, that doesn't seem too comforting to know that." Bell usually kept to herself...was busy doing maps and learning her position. Watching him as he picked up the shard and pocketed it, then at his suggestion, the end of her tail slid around his middle, coiling about him and lifting him up off hte ground and plopping him on her back.

Thusly back out with her, crawling back through slightly cramped passages and such, eventually re-emerging next to the ship. A flare of her wings to stretch them some before settling and coming to stand next to the ship so Hunter could jump off. Hm, it was twilight already. "Well?"
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 6:17 pm

He jumped down and had his crew unleash the lizard, and send it back into it's cave. twilight meant it would get cooler quickly and the lizard needed the warmth it's nest provided. so he dug out of his pocket the shard, and sure enough, it was rainbow like glass.

"wonderful. exactly what I hoped for."

pocketing that again.

"It is getting late..and the desert seas get rather cold rather quickly. are you sure you don't want to take on a more comfortable in small places form and ride back on the ship? I'm sure the cold will have an adverse effect on you."

She looked over to the direction of the sun that was sinking into the dunes. Obviously, night could be a problem. They were cold blooded too...though not so much dependent as regular lizards were. But flying high and cold night just didn't mix well. Which would Lycear throw more of a fit over? Hm. "I suppose a ride would be appreciated."

Thus that same silvery white glow before a mist like fade and the dragon was gone from sight, only moments later to have Bell land on the deck of the ship, folding her wings into her back and crossing her arms lightly after brushing her hair from her face. "Better make haste, I don't want to be in trouble for being out too late. And again, sorry about the net and stuff."
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 6:33 pm

the Captain gave a grin, and nodded to the Bosun. who immediately started on the crew, while his first mate gave orders for the crew and the helmsman took the wheel, hunter gesturing to Bell to follow him.

"we'll be there as fast as the sand seas can carry us. in the meantime, woudl you like to share my cabin? I have smoe drink and food available. coudl help pass the time unless you prefer the open air."

"Captain's cabin's are dangerous places for young girls as I hear it. All that rum and the fine things captain's personally keep." Giving him a grin and brushing some blonde strands from her face again. "I already ate anyway...besides, you don't want me down there breaking things. I'd perfer to stick around up here and watch things." Giving a chuckle and crossing her arms behind her head, horn tips lightly threaded through her crooks in her elbows. "On to Ilindal then."
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 6:45 pm

Shyrae gave a nod and wave of her hand then went about mixing up an omelette just as her mother had taught her how to do. She knew all sorts of recipes but it was far easier to make something quick and easy when she had just woken up from reverie. "I appreciate it though it isn't necessary. We understand your reasons for arresting her and even I have to admit it was quite bad timing that we happened to be in the city and then the knife showing up on her person. I was only upset at the way it was handled in the first place. No charging of the crime and only circumstantial evidence. It was as though Caden would have leaped on anyone with a bloody dagger."

Eilynne could see the defensive hackles rising and she held up her hands, "Forgive me Lady Elf. I am not used to seeing such things. Elves, humans, and dragons live together peacefully in Ilindal because they are forced to. In other planes this does not occur. You two are really more like family and I merely wondered how. There are only my kind the way we are that I am truly familiar with." A wry shake of her head. "I am still young by my people's standards and have much to learn. Inquisitiveness is merely a way of gathering that information."

She paused for a moment and seemed to think it over then nodded. "Some holding units are more sophisticated but this plane has not quite reached that level yet. The Storms halted much progress that could and should have been made. They would have developed power they were not yet ready to handle. But that is not your concern." She was revealing too much. "Do you feel vindicated now that your release has been gained? The pirate burns on your mind and in your heart. You wish to see him again."

A slight grin and shrug.

"As you desire."

and into his cabin with him, to drink rum and play with his new acquisition. however the trip to the city was a bit slower than normal, what with the damaged mast..they still made it before the moon was full in the sky.

once they made port, Captain Hawk came out with rolled papers.

"Copies of my maps. that way you got all the information you needed to get. no problems, no mishaps."
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 6:57 pm

"He probably would have. Bloody daggers are not the most pleasant thing to be around right now what with all that goes on. We try to keep as much peace as we can...if that means premature arrests that will justly be absolved in a day or two after it is made...well I see no harm in that except a few crushed feelings and a apologies to be made. But my son has a good head on his shoulders and knows it is important to show those we have wronged, that we wish thier forgiveness and do not wish thier spite."

"We grew up together more or less." That was all she had to say in reguard to the being's mentioning on her and Shyrae. D'vinn's and Inthara's were like elves and pointy ears. A nod of her head. "It is like that in a lot of places. Where I come from, the humans and such are all at odds. We all have reasons and the world is harsh where I come from." Though since the surface, things had been less tense.

Savryn caught herself as she almost snapped clouded eyes to the little being with her in the room. Savvy rarely let anyone catch her eyes. But still that was an interesting tidbit. Was this thing a mind reader? "Perhaps...and how you know what you speak of?"

Bell had parked herself on the bow, merely letting the wind and such ruffle her hair and her wings as she occastionally splayed them. It was a nice ride back she had to admit that. But soon enough that were in port...and she figured the boat would be docked there all night, seeing as the ship really really needed repairs now.

A blink and she took the maps with a smile. "Thank you very much, will cut down on the process. Oh and um...can I just as you to...you know...don't mention it was me that broke your ship? It's embarassing?" The scales under her eyes tinting pink lightly as the rest of her cheeks tinted red with her embarassment about it. "Might as well port for the night too...get that mast fixed and pick up your supplies. "Thanks again Captain!" Flare of wings and a hop step and she was off to Lycear's.

That, was far, far too easy.

"No problem. on both accounts."

then a look to his first mate.

"Make the repairs as quickly as we can. these shards hold some kind of power. I'm going to find out what it is before certain parties play pirate with me again."

Holding the shard in his hand, turning it this way and that. what power was held in this little thing, and how could he use it to his advantage.
PostPosted: Fri May 18, 2007 7:20 pm

"Well, yes I suppose. We're just rather used to seeing htem around at home. Generally beasts attack and they must be dealt with or our enemies seek to gain the upper hand. We are not at peace in my home like you are here. Sometimes I wish we could be..." She flipped the omelette carefully in the pan then turned down the heat and began looking for a plate. Finding one, she boosted herself up on the counter and pulled it down then grimaced. "Sorry, my father hates it when I do that. He always tells me 'Shyrae, just ask and I'll get it for you.' But it's just easier if I do it myself."

Realizing she was babbling, she let the omelette slide out onto the plate and settled at the table, cutting a piece and chewing slowly. "I did appreciate your apology though and I know Savvy did too. She's got her own ways of showing it really but she appreciates what's done for her." A nod, "He seems like a very competent leader. You raised him well."

"Childhood bonds are often the most potent. Hold onto her, she will need you in the days to come although you will need her more. There is much in store for you both, great adventures to have and wonderful things to see. Do not forget where you heart lies for it is there that you obtain your true power."

Eilynne let the glint of otherworldly wisdom flow into her eyes for a moment and merely shrugged. "I know not how I know these things but I do. Your friend longs to prove herself to you and the rest of the plane and you long to destroy the connotation of your choice in magics. You learned from someone you love very much but hurt you deeply when you were too young to truly understand. Do not fear my knowledge, it will never be used against you, only to understand you." Another small pause. "I give you this warning regarding he whom you seek. Do not let anger and malice cloud your thinking. Remember, we are all connected and we all require assistance at some point. Do not remove the hand that may one day hold the sword that destroys your enemies."

One more pause, "But be careful as well. The pirate is out for his own good. He will use and abuse all, no exceptions, for he does not yet understand the values and morals of most. His idea of just and true is different from yours. Remember that and you will remain safe. Forget that you and will fall to him just like so many others."

"All worlds are differet, Lady elf. That is merely a fact that must be dealt with. Illindal was once against itself as well...but there are factors that will bring others together when they truly need one another. Only then do things seem to get better. It all takes time...but as an elf, you understand time." A nod. "It's alright if you climb about...it's important for young ones to learn things on thier own and do things for themselves."

For a moment Lycear merely watched her before looking out the window. A sniff at the air as it waffted in and a knock and door opening sounded not to later. Oh good she was back. "As long as it has been said and accepted....and I have tried to raise him as best as I have been able to on my own." Giving a light sigh. "Forgive me lady elf, but I have a dragoness to see and sleep to get. We dragons are still ruled by that particular aspect. Feel free to make yourself at home." A light bow to her before he turned on his heel, grabbed Bell in passing and dragged her off. "I'll take your report then you can stay here for the night."

This one was smart for her looks...almost elven like. Savryn was unsettled by her...the being being able to more or less almost see through her and everything. Savvy was a guarded, and she didn't like he walls being penetrated as such. One part had really gotten to her...she knew who it was she spoke of that loved her but had hurt her. Malik D'vinn. It was a complicated matter, born from his care for her mother. He more or less blamed her for almost killing Piper...not that she believed that he meant it, he had been angry and hurting at the time. It was understandable.

"In other words...the enemy of my enemy is my friend...and I never know who my enemy is. You know much...and your words are comforting in a sense." Espcially for her since she really couldn't see. These were things you didn't have to see to understand. "Do not worry, my parents taught me to never depend fully on another. Thank you for your words...."

Shyrae finished up her food fairly quickly after Lycear left. She spent most of the rest of the night attempting to write a letter to her parents, explaining the letter she'd left for them to find and what was going on. Only when her hand and heart hurt in equal amounts did she put down the pen and take more reverie.

THe next morning dawned clear and bright much to Shyrae's chagrin. Sun was still irritating her with its cheerful early morning greeting and she wasn't quite in the mood to return its sentiments. She would have buried herself back under but the possibility of a hand on her ankle removing her from bed stopped her. Instead she got up and headed downstairs, fixing pancakes for Savvy and bringing a tray back up. Silly elf was always in reverie late. Knocking lightly on her door, she called out to her. "Savvy? I brought food..."

the Chimera was still in dock, repairs needing a bit more time than previously thought, and the crew needing sleep and such. which meant her captain was in the city, presently playing cards at a gambling establishment. Hunter was a gambler, both often with his life and his money. and presently, he was cheating the table out of thier hard earned gold.

But he was going to need to sneak a visit to the necromancer...she could tell him about this thing, and what it could do. and she probably wouldn't try and swipe it either.
