The General Derelict found the ensuing silence very awkward, but the roxcore launcher was a very brief walk from the bridge.

"HERE IS YOUR VERY OWN ANDRO-TOBOR ROXCORE. NOW, WHAT IS THE LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE OF YOUR DWELLING?"

"At..Um..45 North... I DID IT!!" Roufetta cried, "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! I just...I wanted to know if the monster-man was telling the truth! I'm SOOOOOOOORY!"

"The mechanical man yelled something as I was running off. Something about you hating magical girls. I...I probed your thoughts. AND I'M SOOOOOORRRRRRY!!!"

There was a clingy, angsty, teenager feel to that entire thing, but somehow, deep down, Roufetta knew that wasn't the best thing to do.

The General Derelict mustered a frown on his food vacuole. "THERE, THERE, MS. REMORSA. I HARBOR NO ILL WILL FOR MAGICAL LIFEFORMS, BUT THE VAST MAJORITY OF THAT SHIP'S CREW IS MAGICAL IN NATURE, AND AS A RESULT INFORMATION CAN BE TWISTED."

He patted her back for a further good-natured appearance, although he was growing tired of comforting humanoforms. "NOW, IF I COULD JUST HAVE YOUR COORDINATES, WE CAN FORGET ALL ABOUT THIS MIX-UP AND GET YOU BACK HOME."

"You're okay with it?"

Roufetta squealed and huggled the Derelict.

"My father always hated it when I probed his thoughts. He only wanted me to probe other peoples thoughts."

Smiling, she finished the long-lat code, 45N 130E, and headed toward the roxacore.

"PROBING THOUGHTS IS A TALENT OF THE ANDRO-TOBOR. IN A WAY, WE ARE KINDRED SPIRITS."

After programming the coordinates into the roxcore's engine, the General Derelict stepped away and waved at Roufetta. "GOODBYE! HAVE A LOVELY LIFE ON JAHOVIA!"

ELSEWHERE...

With a darkling burst of transportons, a man materialised in the evacuated cargo bay of the Crozuilus. He had the dark good looks so common to shoujo manga, complete with gravity-defying emerald hair and an alluring and stylish cloak.

Immediately discerning his target, he approached the presently unengaged mechanical man.

"Salutations, cybohuman pattern VIVII76 desu. May I suggest a course of action desu?" His manner was peculiar and yet strangely charming. "No," he interrupted himself, "I have forgotten the formalities desu. You may address me as Pan desu. Would you tell me your designation desu?"

The General Derelict's subordinate, newly-ractipated Commodore Granpituli da Helio, began to follow him as subordinates do.

"Hail, General Derelict!" the commodore subordinated. He waddled up to the General, who hailed back. Granpituli was a thoroughly disagreeable and awkward man. "General Derelict," he initithized, "why did you let her go? A second Magical Lifeform would be a valuable asset to the Andro-Tobor."

The General Derelict shook his head in robo-dismay. "IT IS TOO DIFFICULT AT THIS POINT. THE GRAND KOWATZITZ WOULD MOST CERTAINLY HAMMEWAFFLE BOTH HER HEAD AND MINE IF WE WERE TO ALLY WITH A MAGICAL LIFEFORM. UNTIL ITS PREJUDICE AGAINST MAGICKS IS LIFTED, THE KOWATZITZ IS A THREAT TO THE GIRL'S SURVIVAL."

Seeing the brilliance of the General Derelict's ways, the Commodore nodded in blind reverence. "Now, the matter of the prisoners. . . "

Little did the Commodore (who was incapable of processing too much information at once, being a young and inexperienced Tobor) know, they were already en route to the electrodungeon.

The roxcore landed in the middle of Roufetta's estate. Or, really, her father's estate. About 1.234216454 miles from the actual house. And about 100 miles from the Crystal City.

"Damn it. I should've had the Derelict send me to the de Nandemonai's estate. Oh well, I'm sure the butler will let me in."

Roufetta left the hunk of metal where it lay and began walking towards her house. She passed her father's spacegolf course, the llamacheese mine-6047, the Axe-dueling ring and the hill where father had taught her blitzslug riding.

"Butler? Yeavef-asdfk? Anyone?" she called, knocking heavily on the door.

No one was there. Father must have given the servants a few days off. But now what was she supposed to do? She was stuck, outside, in the cold Jahovia winds for another 3 days. What had the Derelict said? Have a lovely life? Well...she sure wasn't going to do that if she froze to death.

Suddenly, a ship streaked out of nowhere, a stream of delicious smelling particles flowing out behind it. It hit the ground, bouncing off of it a few times before coming to rest with a sweet smelling sigh near where Roufetta's ship had landed.

After a few moments, the ship's door opened and a figure emerged carrying a tray of steaming... pastry's.

"Aaaah, perfect! A second longer and they would have been lost! Like that poor cake... That landing sure made it fall hard. Ah well!" The figure said cheerfully.

She heard a crash in the distance. Like another ship had landed. Maybe the Derelict sent someone to help me! Running in the direction of the sound, Roufetta could begin to smell the faint scent of pastries. Her stomach began to growl as she got closer.

"Who are you?" she cried, finally seeing the person who'd crashed.

The Derelict would've sent and Andro-Tobor, not some common pastry woman.

Blinking several times at the person who approached her, the pastry-woman laughed.

"Ah! I'm sorry! I was so focused on my baking, I didn't notice where I was! Is this your land? If so, I'd be happy to pay for any damages I might have caused! Eclair?" She held the tray out in offering.

"Eclair? What's that?"

Whatever it was, it sure smelled good. Roufetta inched closer to the ship, while still trying to look like an aloof noblewoman. Pay for the damages? Could a common pastry-woman do that?

"It's chocolate! And cream filling! Fresh from the oven!" She beamed happily, taking a moment to look around her immediate surroundings.

"Chocolate? Cream filling? Oven? What are these things you speak of?"

Roufetta was starting to get a bit confused and a tad scared, even. Why did pastry-people have to be so STRANGE? gonk
